    Problems With The Latest Update

Is anyone else having problems running [S] Act 6 Intermission 3?

For me it all runs fine up until the walk-around starts and then the whole thing pretty much freezes up. The music still plays and if I am VERY lucky I can take maybe a step or two before it freezes up again.

I've got a pretty old computer that only has 1GB of RAM. Is my computer now too old to handle Homestuck?

(I would have posted this in Comic Discussion but I was afraid of spoilers.)

EDIT: Daaaaaaamn! When did that sweet title banner get added?

Mine says my browser is too old to look at it.

Nice to know my browser is getting burned.

I'm in the same boat. I'm using Chrome, and it's not working. I've been reluctant to check the comic discussion about it, so I'm posting here.

On hussie's twitter he stated that there is MAJOR server traffic...

    So yeah...

Looks like we all have to wait a few hours

Yeah, for me it stops at 98% while showing the Pisces symbol, saying that it's a png. If I click view image it gives this URL:

C+V it and it will actually take you to the .PNG of 98% Violet Pisces. :S

Guess I'll check back in a few hours then. Hopefully that fixes things for me.

Sounds like the browser problems might be if you're running IE.

Nah, I can't move either and I'm on Chrome. Or at least I CAN move, but I have to hold down a key for about 5 seconds to move an inch.

That's the same with me. Hopefully it's just because of all the server traffic? Hopefully?

is anyone still having issues? the server load no longer is a problem. if you're using a browser other than Chrome there may be issues (firefox is like 99% compatible or something so that should work too.)

Unfortunately, the problem persists even with the server overload gone. I'm not sure what the issue is, though I'll try the flash on Firefox and see if anything changes.

Re: Problems with the latest update

It works fine for me in Firefox on 64-bit Linux with Flashplayer 11.2.

I would suggest, assuming you're using Firefox, entering aboutlugins into the address bar to check your version of Flashplayer, and update it (or downgrade it???) if necessary.
EDIT: Oh sweet, the game is HTML 5, not Flash. Yaaaaaaay. That probably means it won't work on Internet Explorer though, since it takes like a million years to support "new" things. It should work fine on Firefox, Chrome, and Chromium though. The into is still in Flash though, so if you can't get it to load at all, then it might actually be a Flashplayer problem. Make sure your browser and flashplayer plugin are both up to date and that you're using a modern non-IE non-Safari browser.

But its not the flash thats the problem its the game after it that is freezing. Come on someone has to know whats going on. Is this a problem only for a very small group of people or something?

I've been using Chrome the whole time and it still runs like crap for me.

Like I said earlier I only have 1GB of RAM so that might be it?

What RAM does everyone else with problems have?

While it took forever and a half to load due to my internet connection, i was able to play through the entire flash on my phone. Not the best quality and was laggy a bit in some places, but i was able to load the flash both with standard Ice Cream Sandwich android web browser, and also the Dolphin web browser. You can look up specs for the Droid 4 anywhere, which includes 1 gb of RAM.

Re: Problems with the latest update

I'll probably insult the person who coded Jternia, but here's my three cents:

    * Non-compatible with Firefox < 4.xx (98% loaded, then hangs and nothing happens), made it work on Pale Moon though
    * Fails to load resources (mp3 loaded partially, then cut, then suddenly starts loading ogg, then here we go again)
    * Freezes on single-core CPUs and with less than 2 gb of ram and SLOW AS HELL on my quadcore with 10 gb of ram, GODDAMN IT! >

You wanted to make your life easier? Surprise, you've made it WORSER FOR EVERYBODY ELSE. Flash, regardless of its downsides, never was SUCH buggy resource hog.

    /ends ranting

Strangely enough it works on my girlfriend's laptop which only has 512MB of RAM.

    What the fuck?

(The msuic only plays once and then stops though. No looping)

Worked just fine on Firefox. Really glad it worked out. Best two and a half hours I've had in a long time.

The music doesn't loop, sadly. Be someone else then be the character you want to be to get the music back.

That's because your computer power has absolutely nothing to do with it. Your software is probably just out of date. It runs perfectly fine for me on Firefox 15. You can't really blame the coders if you're still using Firefox 3.
On my computer (64-bit Linux) it uses 37 MB of RAM, so you're computer's RAM is irrelevant unless you're barely running your OS as is. And it only uses 16% of one single CPU core to run (and that's with hardware acceleration turned OFF in Firefox).

Flash, on the other hand, is an embarassment to computer science that takes up way to many resources to do graphics you could run on a phone. If you're running an HTML5 capable browser, which pretty much everything except IE is- and amazing IE even sort of half-supports it- you should be fine. If it freezes at 98% loading, that's probably Flash causing the problem, since the first thing it plays is a Flash intro before it switches to HTML5. (Then, for some incomprehensible reason, Flash continues to run (in the plugin-container child process) and use up thrice as much CPU and memory as the HTML5 does unless you manually kill the process :/ Good job, Adobe)

It should work fine on the latest (or at least close to latest) versions of Chromium and Firefox. And Chrome should probably be fine too (I think it bundles it's own flashplayer now, so it should keep it up to date? Probably?)

If you're having trouble, please post your browser (including the version number if it's not the most recent one), operating system, and flashplayer version.

In addition, disable any addons you have. It's possible that you have some sort of filtering plugin that's half-blocking the application for some reason, or is screwing with the data.

Every track seems to loop just fine here (Google Chrome 21 on Linux) after it's been played at least once and it's all in the browsers cache, but only after reloading the page.

Re: Problems with the latest update

So this is fairly minor, but the music cuts out after a short while. Doesn't matter which track, it just stops working and I can't find a way to get it back without restarting the flash.
