Re: Rolling Thunder: A Roll-To-Dodge Grand Battle

I realize that being on my own has led to nothing but epic failures so far, so I call out "Hey Swampmist! Doof! Mind if I join your team? Here, I'll help you guys out."
I assist Swampmist's action - I do love me some rainbow sherbert!.

    Sherbert? That just isn't right.

Let's try to cut to a different scene for just a second. A scientist is explaining in grave, horribly dubbed tones how dangerous the Purge is, and how drawn it is to the radioactive emissions from transformative powers and forces.

Re: Rolling Thunder: A Roll-To-Dodge Grand Battle

ROLL 5: Let the battle suddenly happen upon great luck!

Rufus: "Rufus attempts to jump away and slide against the floor, using his friction powers to make it slippery so he doesn't hurt himself and tries to get the flames off him by sliding around on the floor."
Roll: 6-Overshoot: You jump to the ground, making the ground frictionless! You go at such a speed that the fire is blown away, but you aren't able to stop yourself from running straight into a wall! (-10 HP)

Masterblade: "Masterblade jumps into the river to put out the fire."
Roll: 5-Perfect Success: You perform a flawless Dynamic Entry into the river, putting the fire out and soothing your wounds.

Palamedes: "Pause to re-aim, and then continue the barrage - this time, directly at swampmist."
Roll: 5-Perfect Success: You close your mouth, then turn toward your new target. You let loose a veritable sonic cannon!

SwampmistDodge: 3-Marginal Success: You roll out of the way, but the sonic waves are a wider range than you expected, and you are slammed unceremoniously into the ground! Your spine really hurts. (-15 HP)

SupahKiven: "I splash my water on Rufus to lessen his pain."
Roll: 2-Failure: You barely manage a sploosh, let alone a splash.

Swampmist: "Try to turn both plumfinders and Palamedes brains into rainbow sherbet" + ChurlishDwarf Assist + Doofaeus Assist
Roll: AUTO-FAIL: That action does not fall within your, "CANDY," Domain! Your supernatural actions must concern literal CANDY, not just anything sweet! You must be specific with your Domain!

Plumfinder: "Plumfinder transforms Doofaeus into a solid gold Doofaeus-statue."
Roll: AUTO-SUCCESS: Due to the transformative aura around Doofaeus, he has no defense against the supernatural assault! His flesh hardens to Gold, and he can no longer move!

chimericWilder: "Also, commence choking swampmist with his shadow!"
Roll: 4-Success: Swampmist's shadow rises up out of the ground and begins to throttle him with its dark arms!

SwampmistDodge: 4-Success: But he wrestles himself away, faced with the surreal threat of his own shadow!

Kaynato: "Grab the rusty sword and attempt to reforge it using the torch and a stone."
Roll: 6-Overshoot: You heat up the sword, and all of the rust falls away. After tempering it, you beat it with a rock like a blacksmith, shaping it and shaping it until you get... the MIGHTY BLADE! It is a very powerful weapon, but it is so brittle that it will break after a single attack! Use it carefully.

"Killer Bee" accepts ChurlishDwarf! The Duo evolves into the Team, "Knights of the All-Natural Sugar Tablet!"

DenizenShipper: "Let's try to cut to a different scene for just a second. A scientist is explaining in grave, horribly dubbed tones how dangerous the Purge is, and how drawn it is to the radioactive emissions from transformative powers and forces."
Roll: 5-Perfect Success: Suddenly, the screen switches to a sepia tone, and an aged asian scientist begins saying something in a foreign language. Fortunately, there are subtitles.

"The Purge... it is an absolutely terrifying source."
"There are records of it even consuming disembodied ghosts."
"It is drawn to transformation energy and radioactive emissions, for it is a being of Static."
"But most of all, it is drawn to kindred spirits, those with pent up rage and unresolved frustration."
"It consumes absolutely, body, mind, and soul. Even in the days when resurrection was possible..."

    The footage cuts off there.

Knight of Hide: "I summon a samurai suit of armour and put it on."
Roll: 5-Perfect Success: You summon a suit of shogun-sized samurai armor! You feel nice and snug in your steel ensemble.

Hero: "I Attempt to dig up the ground, in the attempt to find buried treasure/weapons/loots." + Nightmare Assist
Roll: 3+1-Success: It is difficult to stomach breaking through such dirty ground, but Nightmare supports you with encouraging words. Despite the floor being solid rock, you bust through it anyway, and manage to find...

...a SUMMONING RUNE! It lets you summon a temporary ally to fight for you! Perhaps it can be augmented with a Manifesto...?

MurllyShevo: "Murllyshevo throws Dwarf back to Nightmare."
Roll: 6-Overshoot: You throw ChurlishDwarf back at Nightmare at monumental speeds!

NightmareDodge: 6-Overshoot: But you catch him and throw him back just as fast!

MurllyShevoDodge: 1-Epic Failure: He strikes you right in the face, and sends you and him both toppling backwards into the River. (-12 HP to both from the impact.)

Re: Rolling Thunder: A Roll-To-Dodge Grand Battle

    Mmm

I'm afraid you've gone too far swampmist - attempting auto-killing actions will only make you a target.

I launch a continuous stream of powered shouts at swampmist while he's stuck on the ground, in an attempt to keep him from getting up or focusing enough to use his powers.

Oh yeah and if chimeric and Plum are into it I'd be willing to work with people outside our team - we'd be able to help each other as far along as possible, improving the chance of survival for everyone involved.

As I usually say to people, signatures are for people who care. And I care. Intensely. The intensity burns me just thinking about how much I care about signatures.

    Hey, c'mon! We've won a Mansion!

    Cool, I'm a Samurai now!

I guess I'll try to imbue myself with the knowledge and experience of the most elite Samurai and Shaolin monks.

That should make me pretty good at fighting.

Also that summon rune has potential for hilariousness. DO US PROUD.

Nightmare realizes something looking at the violence around him, he's angry, so very angry in fact that it feels like he could turn into a rage monster if threatened from now on.

I suppose it's time t get myself out of this ridiculous position.

Plumfinder transforms the rock in a radius of two feet around him into water, and climbs out of the newly-formed swimming pool.

I'll get rid of my silly battlehat thing and instead try to majyck up a cloak of invisibility. Or well, invisibility-so-long-as-you-stand-still. Its a question of forcing light particles to bend around the object, according to science.
I really should see about getting a new signature.

Murllyshevo realizes that anyone who throws midgets at him can't be a good person. Him and Nightmare are now mortal enemies.

Murllyshevo jumps high and delivers a powerful kick directed at Nightmare. A kick so strong, in fact, it will bury him on the ground up to his neck.

After noticing the other, less-worldly creations being utilized, I too attempt to create armor - Aluminum interior with Iridium shell - perfect for its use.

"I grow tired of this!". In a fit of anger, I call on Genesis! "On that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened... On that very day Noah... entered the ark.". May the waters rise as Noah's flood (if on a significantly smaller scale) while I sit safely inside my own conjured personal mini-ark.
