A young man stands in his room. It just so happens that today, the 22nd of June, is the release date of an unpopular new VIDEO GAME named SBURB.
After the DISAPPOINTING FAILURE of the BETA RELEASE over 3 years ago, in which the game didn't even run, many of your friends have refused to play it with you. It looks like a really interesting concept, and you have a feeling that it was just a minor screw-up from one of the admins at SKAIANET on release of the Beta that led to this massive glitch, so you're still going to play it.
Even if it's the LAST THING YOU DO.
Phew, that went off on a bit of a tangent. What's this young man's name, anyway?
The above diagram most likely makes no sense without a little explanation, so here goes:
Initially, there will be one timeline. This will include the character's naming and introduction. After their introduction, the timeline will split (or bifurcate, in a sense which possibly borders on the titular) into an Alpha and a Beta timeline, and suggestions must be preceded with [Alpha] or [Beta]. You can even colour code it if you're really cool.
Here's where it gets a little complicated. But still not very complicated. When an active player (by that I mean a character who will play or is playing Sburb, and is currently receiving commands) dies, that timeline will also 'die'. This basically means that it will end, and will be gone "forever". Let's say that the Beta timeline dies. The Alpha timeline will then bifurcate into an Alpha and a Gamma timeline, and these two will receive separate commands, just like the Alpha and Beta timelines did at the start.
If that made no sense, post something derogatory about how much I suck at explaining things, and I'll try my best to explain it in a different way.
Remember, you don't need [Alpha] and [Beta] prefixes on commands until the timeline bifurcates!
I will be using the same naming rules as in Homestuck with this adventure. That is, humans have a four-letter first name, and a six- or seven-letter surname. NO OTHER NAMES WILL BE ACCEPTED. NO MATTER HOW BADASS YOUR SUGGESTION IS, I WILL NOT CHOOSE IT UNLESS IT FOLLOWS THAT PATTERN. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Also cutscenes:
At some point, there will be cutscenes, bits I have planned out beforehand. These will mainly be flashbacks, and will not be very often, or very long. But I will not accept suggestions for these segments. The commands will be preceded by [C].
OK, NOW YOU CAN POST

You are Jack Erberal, a weapons fanatic. You absolutely LOVE building unique weapons, but can't use many of them, as you are very WEAK! You dream about being a world-class BARD, but you never have the TIME to learn any musical instruments. Your chumhandle is atomicCascade, and you tend to rΣplacΣ lΣttΣrs with thΣ ΘnΣs that lΘΘk likΣ thΣΨ arΣ GrΣΣk.
Something witty. Maybe I'm behind you or something stupid like that.

Your name is Sparrowsmith. Of course, it's not really, but you like to pretend that when online due to an inside joke which only you get. It's kind of ironic. Your Avatar was made by аshdenej, it is an awesome sparrow. You just posted something lame, like you always do. You don't mind this, because it was intentional.

This is so weird that so many people chose Rick, because I asked my sister the other day what she would call him, and she said Rick as well! I guess he just looks like a Rick. It was meant to be.
"Examine room" will be the next command, but it may take longer than it should, because I'm going to try and remake his room from the old version that I still have.

The bifurcation: Happen when the player makes the choice between messing around and getting to business as soon as possible
<GenTrigger_> So like, I just heard from someone that the avengers was bad because it had multiple climaxes?
<Tam_Lin> Girls have multiple climaxes and they aren't half bad.
<GenTrigger_> But that's not true, I'd say it actually sort of follows the whole monomyth format- Tam time out now.
Hi there! I'm snuffysam, snuffysamBrickbuilder on Pesterchum.
I am currently the author of three forum adventures. The first, Blasted, is on the surface a Sburb-venture, but you will quickly realize it has nothing to do with Sburb, and then eventually realize that it does have something to do with Sburb after all. The second, Chroma World, is about 6 heroes who attempt to bring peace to a continent filled with war. And the third, Minepuzzled, is a puzzle adventure made entirely in Minecraft.
I also have three completed forum adventures. Three Wishes and bludSLOP are pretty short. Block Saga is quite possibly the longest completed adventure ever- but that doesn't stop it from being the best one I've made to date.
If you have any questions about my forumventures, ask me on tumblr!
