Well, the splinpers are essentially Dirk. It's kind of incorrect to treat them as separate. They are basically Dirk with different motives.

Also, Dirk is not lame. He's a pretty funny, badass dick-face who is actually really bad at irony. How come you don't like *Dirk*?

I don't mind the idea of finding out the names and titles of the A1 trolls (the titles don't really interest me, but I'm sure some of the fandom are eager to find out) but I wouldn't like a lot of info on the A1 session, it just isn't needed unless it is somehow going to become massively relevant. I'm sure it's possible for Hussie to find a decent way of info-dumping anything people need to know in a short space of updates rather than creating mini-Hivebent. Frankly, if the A1 trolls properly meet up with the A2 trolls (could have been done at the moon meeting, but... anyway) one conversation with introductions would give all the information. There must be a conversation coming in order to convince Karkat that ancestors exist.

Keeping in mind that Dirk is separate from his splinters, he hasn't done much that I found funny (I give all the porn credit to uu though), his irony does not phase me, and his relatively reserved personality mixed with his badassness actually makes me dislike him more. Also, he's sorta been using AR to do most of his dirty work for him. And saying funnier lines, but maybe I'm just a sucker for AI jokes I guess. And Dirk-fragment giving Jake boners.

But I'm baised against Striders. :V

His irony isn't irony. Basically, as a general rule, anything "ironic" Dirk does is actually him being totally sincere. That's why I think he's a funny character, because he pretty much means all the off-the-wall shit that he says.

But yeah, I do agree on the AR thing. I'm hoping that he is going to have a bigger role eventually, because it's just not the same having AR do all the Sburb shit.

Regardless, as long as you like an incarnation of Dirk we're on good terms. *Sinister glare*

Dave failing at things and suffering is one of the most entertaining things to ever happen in this comic.

I mean how can you not find Jade shooting him up hilarious? And him squirming scared at Cal. And getting spiked into the roof by Bro. And springing right off the handle during a dramatic moment.

He's just a big ball of failure based hilarity.

Okay, him pissing his pants because of Cal really is hilarious, but the rest of those things I didn't really have a reaction to?

My reaction to most of those things were more along the lines of "Oh Dave, you and your shenanigans."

I find his arc really interesting and engaging, though. I want to see him succeed. To see Dave bombarded with failure after failure makes him no better a character than Gamzee. No character development. All of his gigantic arc with Bro and Terezi and his Doom Selves? All wasted. For no real purpose other than to clog the story. Dave needs to advance to remain a good character.

Not that I don't enjoy him being a doofus all the time.

The difference between you and I is I don't give a shit about his character development arc, because I cannot get into it because I do not like the Dave on the surface that much. :V

Also Gamzee is hilarious don't diss the guy.

And I'm not saying that Dirk kicks Dave's ass once, and nothing ever happens to Dave again roll credits. I just like the potential setback. He can develop afterwards and all, but I want to see this one setback.

And besides, Dave had a great arc ending at the Green Sun but he had to survive it somehow. Right now, he's got little reason to go back into his Bro's shadow. Something putting him back in there, for him to fight off for real this time, would be fun.

Gamzee is literally the worst and most annoying character in all of Homestuck and it would be better without him.

Dave's arc hardly feels resolved to me. He managed to pull himself together and care more about another person other than himself and, yes, but he still seems like the same old under-confident superficially "cool" guy that we all know and don't love. He is still hanging with Terezi who is still encouraging his facade.

Dave punching Dirk in the face would really crystallize a change in him.

Had they just let the scratch happen as normal, they would have ceased from existing and start their lives over in the scratched universe. So, I'll make a bit of an analogy. Let's say the kids are files in a folder, the folder being the universe. When you Scratch the universe, It can be seen as, like, reverting the folder to a previous version. So anything that was on there before and any changes are lost. There are 2 days to avoid this. 1) Kill yourself (ie: Throw in the recycle bin). By doing this, you still exist in the afterlife, and when the folder is re-written, the files still exist in the recycle bin. 2) Escape. Transfer the files to another folder (ie: universe) simply, and when the folder is re-written, the transferred files will be safe.
