I'd like to complain about the apparent carbon monoxide leak in this topic, because all 4 pages are nearly as dumb and offtopic as the "offical homestuck discussion topic".

I am sometimes this guy:
I'm glad the recently "twitter/sexism" thing got brought up, because that chick's attitude and accusations bugged the hell outta me.
My current complaint is an oldie, but, I really miss the John, Jade, and all the other "originals". I'm even dying to know what PM and Jack are up to.
I'd also like to finally see the Denizens. Ghost John & Vriska's date to see Typheus has got to be the longest cliff hanger ever.
Yeah, it's not like we didn't explore more of their psyche's the last time we saw them.
You should just wait for actual conflict to arrive. The meteor has it easy, what with Karkat around, but as the Warship inhabitants are more sensible we need s'more buildup for it.
(Davesprite will die and John will be all like: "bummer. Oh well, we still got the other one. They're pretty much the same, anyway.", and then Jade will DIVE KICK him in the face.)
Yeah, I hope you're right. Those two seem chronically unphased by things and seeing them flip the fuck out at each other would be pretty interesting.
Also, yes, that's why I said that they've been stagnating for awhile, AKA, since Act 5 started.
Although I don't think that's entirely true, but that's a whole different ball of wax.
You say They've been stagnating when Jade got like, all hells kind of development?
Hey, bro, thems my feels n' I can't do nothin' to change 'em.
Right around when Vriska tells John to 8e cre8ive is when I started noticing that they were being boring to me.
Actually, that's right around when I started reading serially. Hmm, perhaps that influenced my decision.
I feel like we always do this.
I say something, then you come along and we argue for like an entire page and then we get silly and suddenly the thread dies because of how off-topic we made it.
(PS Equius is totally compensating for his abusive relationship with Arthour by being strong and watching horseporn all the time. Deep down he has a hatred for Arthour and is projecting those feelings onto Vriska.)
I do share those sentiments for the male/female classes (though it hasn't been very thoroughly explored in-universe). I just don't find it as entertaining to imagine how these roles could work with different scenarios if there's a restriction on their potential. Though it seems like how they play doesn't necessarily tie into what sort of class they'll get (like Rose's aggressive gameplay becoming a Seer, etc). I would just prefer if they all had the potential to be a great offensive or defensive force if they were given the right class. Female roles also have active classes though, right? E.g. Jade's Witch class seems quite active.
My main complaint though is that I'm starting to get kind of tired of new characters. It seems now that every time things start getting really interesting, suddenly it's a new act with a new set of characters. Although I do love them, and I'm sure their inclusion will probably make the story more complex and interesting, it's getting rather frustrating.
We don't know exactly what Witch is but we do know that Thief is an active class. All the active/passive pairs we know (Thief/Rogue, Prince/Bard, probably Page/Heir) have been pairs of classes of the same gender, the only exception being Muse and whatever - and it's never actually been said they're a pair, just that they're the most powerful of their type. There could easily be an active female counterpart of the Muse that is defined differently to whatever uu is that make it a little less powerful. We just don't know.
Let's be honest, that's pretty much how it's always been.
Witch has been confirmed as "highly active", though.
Muse could have a counterpart, if we assume there are more than the 14 classes implied. If you had at least 16 then Muse could have an active counterpart and uu's a passive one.
I think having the constant inclusion of new characters is, and always will be, a staple of all MSPA adventures. It's just a tool Andrew likes to use. It's great for expanding the plot, creating more interest/diversity in the cast, etc., but according to the First Law of Metafictional Thermodynamics, adding new characters like that will constantly slow the plot down, which is what's been happening. Adding new characters constantly is probably the reason Homestuck is the monster it is today. Every new character requires an introduction, pesterlogs, entries, and this isn't even counting minor characters.
So to summarize: get used to it.
My complaint is that we haven't seen Andrew's Harry Potter fanfiction where Harry is a Slytherin and is naked throughout most of it.
It's too difficult to keep up with :/ I keep trying to get my friends to read it, and they all claim that it's too boring and confusing. It needs to make a little more sense in the first couple acts.
