Flaw: Feferi is sometimes condescending.
Hope: To "unite the two races" whoever they may be.
There is your depth. Now that she has achieved her goal by uniting trolls and humans in the dreambubbles, her character arc is complete and she can now be safely written out of the story. QED.

"It should be understood that competition in chess problems is not really between White and Black but between the composer and the hypothetical solver (just as in a first-rate work of fiction the real clash is not between the characters but between the author and the world), so that a great part of a problem's value is due to the number of 'tries' -- delusive opening moves, false scents, specious lines of play, astutely and lovingly prepared to lead the would-be solver astray." -Vladimir Nabokov (Speak, Memory)
Keeping him, who would normally be a danger to almost everyone, a... "decent" guy? Sort of like this but not really. I don't know. That's what I can come up with. How does her relationship with Equius fit into this scheme?
Some information on the horrorterrors would be nice, yes, though I'd prefer it at a fitting time and place, perhaps if the narrative shifts towards dreambubbles/escaping them/what comes after them/what's killing the horrorterrors/etc.
As for Feferi... well, she's a side character? She doesn't need to be fully fleshed out, it doesn't serve her purpose in the story, and there just isn't enough time for Andrew to make every character fully three-dimensional. Nor does every character need an arc, or whatever really. If every character got the same amount of development as say, Vriska, we'd have just finished 5.1
And no, before you say it, this does not make the inclusion of Feferi or any other side character pointless, and not including her at all would not have been a better option than including her but not developing her. She's a side-character for the main characters to interact with, and that's all she needs to be. She's got enough of a personality and some bare-bones goals that she's not a complete blank-slate, but there's just no time or reason to take it any further. She's like.... fuck I don't know, Tonks from Harry Potter or that one elf-Lady in Lord of the Rings, they've got a personality, they've got some goals, but they're not really fleshed out because the story is not about them.
roxy shouldve misspelt "delusion" as "delugion" in this conversation
the years of BC's reign should be "anno diluvii" not "post condescension"
roxy shouldve dropped and broken her martini glass before blacking out (subsequent pages contradict this so have her pour another one after she wakes up?)
andrew i know youre reading this thread. implement these retcons immediately!!!!!!!!!!!
Homestuck needs more post-scratch shenanigans.
Roxy was not introduced until A6A2. What is up with that??? Girl shoulda been there since day one.

"carapace" is a sweet synecdoche
"caraperson" is an acceptable portmanteau
"carapacian" is a shitty neologism!!!!!!!!!!!
I was going to comment on that, but it seems "carapacian/carapaceon" is only a word in Homestuck and Monster Hunter, so... uh... carry on.
We need a shirt that says "all of the luck, all of it"
and there is not enough Nepeta in this comic. We need more Nepeta. Hussie, take note.
There is so much truth in this statement I can't even express. I do hope to see more of her, but just not in a copout or shitty way. Assuiming uu and UU are one person, maybe the rogue of heart could steal uu to help out UU? Of course, Dirk might just end up destroying uu, but I definately like the Nep path better
I've got nothing clever to say here... yet.
Avatar base came from a program by inkiw on Newgrounds, with a few edit I made in ms paint.
Can I complain about people who complain about Homestuck here?
Because on Andrew's twitter there is this person who implies Homestuck is sexist, which is totally not true, just because Andrew gave uu the Active Class and Calliope the Passive Class. Obviously uu is going to be the active one out of the two because, y'know, he's a vicious and bloodthirsty alien as opposed to Calliope who is as sweet as pie. Andrew going out of his way to do things in the story just to avoid claims that Homestuck is biased is ridiculous.
Calling it sexist because of the labels 'active' and 'passive' is to deliberately ignore the actual content of the story. Rose's class is deemed 'passive' but she's one of the most active characters in the whole damn story, essentially taking the leadership role. And in UU and uu's case, its pretty obvious that uu being 'active' is not a good thing.
Notice though, she's basically the leader on the meteor. She knew which way to go and what is the best way to battle against Bec Noir. So while she isn't personally doing as much, she is still participating to a very strong extent.
"Active" and "passive" are just terms for how the powers work, not sexism. If it was that "active" made uu all big and powerful and "passive" meant that UU was weak and pitiful then I can more see how people would scream sexism (although I'd say you'd have to have a running theme or a real blatent intent in order to be sexist, rather than happening to have those characters those sexes). The fact is that both of their classes are probably just as powerful as each other just they work in different ways. It might be the terminology used that is making people have problems.
This whole male/female only classes thing still rubs me the wrong way. What exactly about a woman stops her from being eligible as a destroyer? What is the point of making those classes male only?
And I'm not a fan of this whole passive/active distinction either. I'm all for exposition of the classes, but this feels more like heading in the direction of rigidly quantified DBZ power levels than what the classes and aspects mean for the characters/in the cosmic scheme of things.
I'm pretty sure that Princes and Bards weren't actually destroyers IRL either.
As far as the passive/active sexism thing goes, I find it a bit silly because the only thing we're told on the matter is
They're just labels that describe whether or not a class's functions benefit themselves or benefit others, and it doesn't determine whether your actual actions will be passive or active in nature. Ex: Bard is a passive class, and look at what Gamzee has managed to accomplish.UU: the +/- distinction can mean many things, bUt coUld be qUite roUghly sUmmed Up in this way: active classes exploit their aspect to benefit themselves, while passive classes allow their aspect to benefit others.![]()
ASKER: Do you identify with any of the trolls?
ANDREW HUSSIE: Gamzee but only cause he killed a bunch of them.
