There's no reason to believe that he couldn't kill Dirk with an orbless ring. We don't know how much power is really added by the ring alone. Though he only really does a lot of damage after the Seppucrow is added to the mix (you know, the one with the sword he uses), I'm pretty sur-

wait a second, what exactly is "power" anyway? Because proficiency with a sword doesn't really sound like power. That's ability. What is power, in this case? The only powers we've seen a ring user wield that couldn't be directly attributed to Bec (or other prototypings) are the energy tendrils and Red Miles.
