New(?) Theory: Jake goes ruins diving and finds a sarcophogus on his planet, Pyramids and Neon. Getting to it or opening it costs him his leg, but he is such a rugged adventurer, that he doesn't care. Inside he finds LE, but a younger different version than we know. LE and Jake fight, and Jake manages to defeat him like the complete and utter badass he will be at the time. LE's defeat is witnessed by someone and they go to get help for Jake due to his missing leg, and spread the word of LE's defeat, thus bringing hope to everyone that LE can be stopped. However while this person/thing is gone, LE prototypes Jake into himself and becomes the time-traveling space demon pimp we all know.

Sure she does. But I don't think she'll get there for the moment. She doesn't really have a link to any of them, except for Aranea. Then again, maybe Karkat will mistake her for Vriska, and that could form a connection between the two.

Yes, my thoughts exactly.

I decided to do just that, actually. I took the two pictures in question and put them in GIMP.
I cropped out Alternia's Pink Moon, resized the Pink Moon's pink moon, and pasted that into a new canvas.
Then, I took the alternate face of Mars, resized it to the original size of the pink moon's moon, resized it back to its original size, pixelized it to the same pixel size as the pink moon's moon scaled up (10x), and colourized that shit as close to the pink moon's moon as I could get. The results are striking, but they're not a complete match.
