A small bug eyed creature stands within the confines of somewhere. It appears to be quite dark and this little thing is staring in our direction! We're not quite sure if it can actually see us but we can probably tell it to do stuff.
Well, how about asking it something?

???: Use that squiggly thing on that hook as some sort of pencil that is able to break the Fourth Wall and destroy everything it lays it's lead tip on.

That or introduce yourself, then eat the squiggly thing on the hook afterwards.

Well, it's pretty hard to see its face through all this darkness. At least we know it can understand us.

That's much better! Now it's finally time for it to introduce itse-- Oh dear. It appears a bit saddened? Oh my, this isn't the sort of introduction we were hoping for!

I can't exactly make out what it's trying to say but.. I think what it's trying to get through is that the light is giving off some sort of other-wordly old-timey feeling that makes it feel like some sort of stressed business man in tough times that involves a number in the 40s or something.
... But that's just plain silly!

The creature proceeds to turn off the bizarre setting and shift it to actual light.
Not quite sure why it didn't happen in the first place but let's not ask crazy questions.

Finally, we can get down to business. It appears that this thing's ready to actually give us the low down on who and what this thing is.

It's apparently the last of a dead species from some bizarre planet. Its race once went by the name "Lums" but now this little thing goes by the name of Lum in their memory. It's been stuck inside this dark place for some time and for some reason today is the day it gets to get out of here and see the outside world once again!

It doesn't seem to like those thoughts. It might be actually having some traumatic post-war flashbacks.

With those horrible thoughts behind us, we can see a shittily made map of the area. It's not at all big and definitely not a comfortable place to live in. It's been well explored beforehand! That ball especially, man, that thing looks like it's been loved to red.
Here we can see a BALL, CRACK IN THE FLOOR, HANGING LANTERN? and the DOOR which could be either RIGHT SIDE UP or UPSIDE DOWN.
What to do, what to do...
