I think they're braids. They look a bit to straight, and even to be rat tails I think.

Yes, let's go with that. Better than, say, that nasty dreadlock look.

Anyways yeah, Rattails are just like Ponytails, only, thinner and more whiplike, hence the name- they resemble the tail of a rat instead of a horse. Beyond that, they can be styled in pretty much the same way.

Still, the canon itself gives no indication that her hair is braided, and that might just be a fanart sort of thing to explain how her rat tails stay uniformly together.

Also, don't use formatted text (colored, font, etc) unless you're like, doing 'something' with it, like mocking up a pesterlog between characters or copypasting it.

I think Meenah has cornrows, which all combine together at the base of her head to form 2 long braids. She has some pieces of hair sticking out of the cornrows, giving her hair that sticky-uppy look a bit, while the front is just her hair being pulled back into thin braids from her hairline.



(Hairline is where the braids start, that everyone else has been drawing as bangs, green lines show the locks of hair, and the red lines show the boundaries between braids. In front of her horns, she just has short hair that sticks up a bit, and starts the braid up behind the horn.)

I can see her having almost like a hipster mullet with braided rattails, though. But to me, the hairline/bangs says more "tight, pulled back braids with escaped bits due to having layers in there that don't cooperate" more than "hipster pixie cut hair with rattails".

I have this weird short bit of hair at roughly the place where Kanaya has it and it curls up. NOT AS IMPLAUSIBLE AS YOU THINK, THEN.

Kanaya's Spitcurl isn't inplausible, it's her 'hair horns'.

It's Roxy's that kind of makes no sense.

This is like, the closest you can get to that thing in her hair.

Also, the curl is supposed to be resting on her ear.
