I think the plot needed Nepeta because there was too much teenage angst going around, with all the murders and revenge cycles and more murders and so forth. Without Nepeta and her sweet face, her hands dripping with the blood of her kills that she painted on the walls of her house, without Nepeta and her bone breaking glomptacklehugs of a somewhat perverse blueblood troll, we wouldn't be able to smile.

Yeah, I get the feeling that we're about to see Tav-sprite very soon.

On the page where Gamzee is described as the most important character he's watching dream Jade get prototyped; that sees like some pretty heavy foreshadowing towards him doing the same thing with the heads of his dead buddies. And since Tavros was Gamzees favorite dead friend he's most likely the one he'll want to bring back first.

Hopefully this won't cause Tavros and the rest of the trolls to have existential crisis based meltdowns....
