I'm on my third listen-through and I have discovered that I am in love with Coolkid. What a great song.
Also I have decided I have absolutely no qualms with any of the kids' themes. I really love them all.

I'm fairly certain that metaphorically killing someone's dreams doesn't actually kill their dreamself, and if it did, I don't see why Gamzee's dreamself would randomly be on his quest crypt - Aradia was a special case. Not to mention that the idea it was time travel makes more sense in a convoluted sort of way.

Terezi's dreamself death has been implied in Alterniabound, I think if you sleep in Eridan's shitty wand pile in the future section where Prospit has blown up, you get a dreambubble sleep symbol and a game over/restart screen

My logic simply states that we don't see some people's dream selves at all and there may be a specific reason for that. Equius, for example, could be because he is the hero of void and Jack had no way to outright find him or sense him. Though I do not have responses for the other two.

If it was time travel, then he would have had the scars on his face healed since going God Teir seems to heal all damage that has ever happened to you. Like Vriska getting her eye and arm back.

Didn't Karkat mention somewhere that he didn't have any idea what Gamzee had been doing during the game, and that half the time no one knew where he was? Or am I making that up.....?
If I am remembering that correctly though, then it wouldn't have been hard for him to go Cod Tier while everyone else was busy. Kill himself on his quest bed, then collect his clothes and meet up with Karkat. Nobody would notice a thing, what with the plan to exile the Black Queen in full effect.
And as others have said, it would also explain how he caused so much damage to the BK in the Troll's final fight.

It's more likely to be because showing each of their dreamselves dying would take too long, not to mention pointless.

Vriska went god tier the other way, though - her god tier self was her dream self's body, which wasn't the one that had the robot parts. So it's still plausible for it to be time travel.

This is wrong for two and a half reasons.

1. Your dream self is a reflection of how you'd want to be, like how Terezi's dream self is blind even though there's no physical reason for her dream self to be blind. All she did as her dream self was look into Skaia, and that doesn't make you blind or else every Prospit dreamer would be blind from looking into the clouds. We don't know if Gamzee would want to keep his scars as a reminder or not.

The "half" reason is that this isn't the only way to go God Tier.

2. You can go God Tier by dying on your quest bed on Prospit or Derse, in which case your physical attributes would not change. It would make more sense for Gamzee to have gone God Tier this way if it was indeed time traveling because his dream self is already synced with past!Gamzee.
