mum have you been peeking at the secret music team google docs
you know that information was supposed to remain a secret between the music team, the music team, and whoever paid for a giant-ass pizza for me
Oh my gosh yes. I didn't think the day would ever come, but one of my all-time favorite Homestuck songs is actually in a Flash. Now if "Awakening" could find its way in somewhere, I will want for nothing more.
YES it is about TIME Ruins was in the comic
!!!
Wow Jane is just soaking up all the good songs isn't she
Your chumhandle is gargantuanFeline and you tend to talk using perfect grammar and no swearing no matter what.
Woo woo! *runs off to stick gold star on chart*
Yes, the clues were used to verify. But ears were used to interpret. (Ears, and software that isolates partials. Thar be a pianer in th’ way.)
Ruinen, einzelne Adlerfittige, alles bunt und wild durcheinander.
definitely panic if there’s caviar
sidenote: small write-up about Ruins over here: http://mspajit.tumblr.com/post/21217208124/ruins
besides that yeah I have little idea on how to react to people and stuff, I basically woke up to this today
I'm still hazy and tired but it's like, ruins, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay I need a nap, or food
Hey Jit, the OP says you're a business method, but I always thought you were a compilation strategy designed to improve runtime performance.
this signeture has been HIDEN, becuse it is large
The best part is that it sets tha stage for Ruins Rising to be used, another favorite of mine.
"What? Funning? I never fun! I do not fun, and have no history of funning, and even if I were inclined to funning, I would not dream of funning with you."
Oh hey Ruins was in that flash, cool. Congrats music-y persons. It fit really nicely, too.
When I first listened to Ruins, I instantly fell in love with it. It had a looming sense of dread to it, yet it had that feel of reassuring familiarity. It didn't sound particularly Homestuck-like the first time I listened to it, at least there was nothing like it I thought. It reminded me of Nine Inch Nails.
The way it was used in this Flash is just straight up stellar. I never expected it to be used - after the use of Rain, I expected a bit more of a hopeful note rather than a somber one. But it really adds onto the mystery and after the surprise twist set itself up in the ending, the music was certainly there just consistently driving the shock value ever so subtly into my mind. Perhaps my favorite composition by Jit ever. I love listening to it in the middle of the night.
Hell I'd say the music is driving forward the mystery of Homestuck even more and that it's grown into something quite perplexing and mystifying.
1) I agree with everyone else, apparently: "Ruins (with Strings)" was an excellent selection, rife with just the right kind of melancholic moodiness to go with crypts, if not helium or mysterious time-traveling codpieces.
2) This seems like the right place for something I would like to get off my chest. "Coolkid" has been stuck in my head all evening and I can't seem to shake it. No matter what else I play, it keeps popping back.
EB: well you see, the explanation is perfectly simple and scientific.
EB: it was because shut up.
EB: shut up is why.
Pbth, so, I'm wondering, does anyone have any possibly interesting names for uu and UU songs?
like, Hypothetically or whatever. Like, shitty titles I thought of:
-Lime Viper
-Crimson Serpent
-Quetzacoatl
-Ouroborous
-Jörmungandr
-Apophis
Okay so I'm really just naming Snake things but whatever.
ugh.
So, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but does anyone(especially any members of the music team + people who made the songs for the newest albums) have any suggestions for music software? Preferably free stuff? Funds are kind of nonexistent for me right now, but I'm tired of thinking up tunes or beats that I think might actually be good, just so I can fail to do anything with them and then forget them later...and I've been wanting to toy around with song composition/creation for a while. Any suggestions would be tremendously appreciated.

Having finally listened to both coloUrs and mayhem albums, I can say that:
-Mage Gold sounds like it came straight out of an F-Zero game. I'm half expecting a voice to suddenly yell out "YOU GOT BOOST POWER"
-Olive Rogue and the accompanying image make me lol endlessly for some reason (":33 < *ac is going on an adventure*" "NO FUCK ADVENTURES")
-Green Ghost is great. I love me some Doctor remixes (though why are John and Jade's colors swapped?)
-Clockstopper is probably my favorite, though if you were to ask me tomorrow I'd might end up changing my answer because I'm still a little indecisive on the issue.
EDIT: Oh wait, it's their shirt emblems. Nevermind me, I'll just be over here herping the derp.

I can't believe Elevatorstuck is finally in a flash. I just
can't
It is the most beautiful of tunes to gaze at Gamzee's magnificent codpiece to. Stunning.
so wait
let me get this straight
hussie gets a bunch of music from the fandom
and then takes a bunch of them and divides them into two albums
and sells both of them for 8 dollars each.
how much do the people who actually made the songs get
Percentage cut on sales based off of how many tracks you have on the albums.
There are a total of 62 tracks on both albums that together cost $18. There are nearly 50 musicians on board.
You do the math. The average is around there I'd think. Then there's a cut for the What Pumpkin label I believe but I'm not sure exactly how that works.
