Hello dear forums! You might be asking yourself 'isn't that a song? The fuck?'. Well, let me tell you about it.

It all started a few hours ago, when we started making suggestions about the next update. We pretty much all got around to this idea; a simple flash of Jake, standing on the elevator in the Frog Temple, doing several things while waiting. Tap his feets, fall asleep, play with his guns, nearly shoot himself in the foot. All kind of things, set to the 'Elevatorstuck' song.

Eventually, we came to the conclusion that it was very unlikely for such a thing to happen. So we took it upon ourselves to make it. Which is why I'm posting here! With help from the community, we could certainly make something of that project. I have already started working on a sprite sheet for Jake, which will include several types of animation which we could all fiddle with until we get a good result! Anybody who want to work on this, in one way or another, is welcome. In time, the list below will expand, as new ideas are always welcome!

Animations Ideas

Jake

• Tapping his feets (Animation done and programmed)

Yes. We are making this hapen. This project has my full support and I would love to do whatever I can to contribute, though what exactly that includes, I don't know. Also, an animation of him humming awkwardly to the music and looking around would be amusing. How this would be represented as an animation, I've no idea. I don't know what humming looks like exactly.

Hrm, sorry for the double posting, I just want to say that I finally organized Jake's spritesheet, which I have handily placed into the OP. It's mix-and-match; simply take a pose, paste it into whatever program you want, take a head, paste it unto the body and TADA! All that is left is ripping out the animations from the [S] updates, which is harder for me. And the LE head computer's eyes, which do not flash for now. It should be easy to make for anyone.

It is late so I need to sleep, and then I have school, but presumably I will eventually have time to work on this.

This would just be a non-canon idea, but it'd be funny to see Dave, Jade or some other person come in and participate in shenanigans while Jake does random stuff. It's all toggle-able so if somebody just wants Jake then they can have that.

Well, the list is up in the OP. Animations Ideas? Yeah, that one. And thanks for taking care of the elevator! I'll try to do it in the meantime, but having someone else do it might just help me, since I'll probably need to make more spritesheets.

Hrm... this might be way more ambitious and probably not within possibility at the moment, but is there a chance to switch environments and/or primary characters? Like for example the famous "Dave in the LoHaC elevator" scene? Or "Jade waiting in the frog temple elevator"?

As for animation ideas for Dave, it could be that he's just switching suits or glasses, taking out his timetables, or chatting with Terezi.

Possible, but for now, I'd like to focus on making it with Jake. Of course, the idea is still good and I will consider it, but since we're barely beginning with Jake, I don't want to be too ambitious and ruining it. But I like your ideas for the other characters' animations. I'll make a separate list for them.

Sure, go ahead. I like the idea and I wouldn't have too much problem playing around with it. And I love having things to do. I think we could potentially include a few to start with, such as Dave and Jade, but if we can do it, why not implement more?

All right. So at the moment, I've got ideas for John, Rose, Jane some consorts, and WV entering and exiting. Not much on trolls though. They seem to kinda have their own sort of shenanigans that I'm not really sure of.

Wow. That's a lot of ideas. I like that. I'll start with John and Jade ripping first, because, well, they're the two closest on the ectobiological line. I'll add Dave to the pile if I can, and when I'm finished, I'll see for the others. I'll save your list in a separate file on my computer, and I'll add some of them.

I like it. However, since those characters are "optional", making them interact with Jake directly irks me a little. Mostly because that would be a lot on my side. But I'm sure that if I can get help, it could be done. Lord English would surely be more difficult, though; we don't really have that much to work with. Don't forget that it's long to rip out every sprites; some expressions are re-utilized, but I still have to go through hundred of pages to get every poses. If someone could at least rip out the characters, without separating the various pieces, that would be very helpful, in many ways.

Yeah, the only problem being that I still have to go through the early pages, because, for example John is completely missing his Green Ghost shirt. And he has many poses with that shirt. And many different expressions from those which are commonly seen through the rest of the comic. For example, in the first ten pages, he has four different kind of 'anger/annoyance'.

Yessss So much attention. Thanks to Xqz for volunteering to do the elevator. Also I think having secondary characters could be humerous, especially since we need to fill over 4 minutes of this, but I don't think it would be super wise to have them directly interact with jake? I mean, I like the idea of staying true to the awkward elevator idea. So maybe if they get on, and the two refuse to make eye contact, and then they just get off again, it will be better. I know that is what happens to me on elevators anyways. I am the most awkward person.

You might want to add to that the part where John takes the cake from his Dad (well, the arm there anyway), along with when John captchalogues the stuff he just cut out from the double-decker cake accident (though, it's just him sticking his tongue out...)

Alright, some of them could be useful. However, the one where he take the cake and the other with the telescope...I don't really see what use we could make of them. John's spritesheet will be enormous, at the rate it's going. I already have enough to make a sheet three times bigger than Jake's. Phooey.
