Didn't she take the rope and bucket from the other well? Even if she didn't, I wouldn't be surprised if the other wells caught on fire in the chaos. It's always the worst-case scenario.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

I should point out that that is an amulet silence, not dispel. It would not remove Sigrid's ongoing fortify-personality effect. Furthermore, Katia already indicated the amulet as something that prevents her from casting, so it's unlikely Sigrid would willingly wear it.

Sigrid is not going to let Katia go like this. Fortify personality is temporary, and Sigrid isn't going to turn loose someone she couldn't charm normally, because they'd be less than inclined to sing her praises once free. Best case scenario, Sigrid uses a Command Humanoid - "Don't talk about the Kvatch mages guild" on Katia. Worst case, Katia gets to visit the Chained Room, where Sigrid conducts her dealings with Totally Normal Humans of Indeterminate Gender. . . Wait, I think that could work for us.

Sigrid - This pittance barely covers dinner, much less the potion you just expended! To the Chained Room with this Murder Hobo!

    Oh, Sigrid! Such charisma!

With all that personality, good fashion sense and charm to spare, she seems almost REGAL in her bearing! She wouldn't be out of place if she were rubbing shoulders with the Emperor of Tamriel at all!

    Wouldn't you agree, Katia?

    >Katia: When the musk charm wears off realize you’ve been had again, and that you are once again at square 1. Swallow your pride and have the courage to realize that no matter how hard you try its never going to work in your favor. You are only a doormat for those who are cruel, and a let down for those who put faith in you. Do the right thing and end your life, your existence is pathetic and at least if you’re dead you can’t let anyone else down, or be taken advantage of anymore.

Katia. Katia! Darling! Listen to me. Listen to my voice. You need to think about what you're doing. Just for a moment. Think about it. Please. Think about Quill-Weave. Your only friend in this goddamn country. That book, that money, it's hers. You can't donate what isn't yours. That's not donating. That's stealing. And you are not a fucking thief. You are better that. You are so much better than that.

AND WHATEVER YOU DO LEAVE YOUR AMULET ON. Sigrid's so sweet and kind, she'll understand you need it.

Katia I think what Sigrid did with that perfume is a little fishy. I'm not even squiding. Remember herring from all those people about how this place is bad? I mean for god's hake you'd think after all those warnings you'd have taken that last opertunaty to leave whale you had the chance. Perhaps it's best you stop being so koi put all your carp back in your bag and take your leave before this whole situation becomes a huge pain in the bass.

Not soon enough to avoid being conned it seems, also who knew Clanfears had small item bags?

Or maybe taking it off and "accidentally" setting the whole building in fire wouldn't be a bad idea.

Katia! You're a khajiit! You should be ashamed, giving your shiny gold instead of taking.
LOOK AT THOSE SHINY SEPTIMS! LOOK AT 'EM!
    LOOK AT IT!

What's stronger, your Khajiit desire to have all the gold or her charisma? Not even her can take without giving! The barter system doesn't work like this! She has to at least give something at least worth .01 gold in the barter screen for you to give her money!

    >Katia: It's amazing how Sigrid's so nice. She treats you like royalty. She is like royalty. You are like queens. Queens. Most of whom share the throne with kings. Think about all of those kings and queens. Now that you're terrified, run for your life, clutching your possessions for reasons you do not consciously understand. Accidentally step on Sigrid's foot while you're at it.

Hmmm... I think i will leave you for a few minutes. Please don't go anywhere and pay no attention to the screams of frustration you will most definitely hear.

    Ahem. Ok, i am back.

Katia: Sigrid is such a nice person! Nice enough, in fact, that you should give everything to her! EVERYTHING! That means the amulet as well.

After that, show her your appreciation by clawing her eyes out. Its a strange nordic custom, you would not understand. Just do it.

Nah: Recall your timing always were the worst possible.

Katia: Try to hold your sobs back just to ask WHY THE HELL DID SHE DO THAT TO YOU?!?

    That is the worst plan.
Sigrid needs to see what happens when you fuck with Katia Fucking Managan. Mess with the Katia, you get the claws.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

No. It's not. It is the best plan. And I'll tell you why.

Say Katia gives Sigrid her amulet. Great. Now she can use her magic. And judging by this thread, oh hell will she ever use her magic. I've only just started suggesting so I don't know if the amount of cat puns in here are more or less than usual, but I know dramatic convenience when I see it.
What, exactly, is burning down the Kvatch Mage's Guild going to do? Best case scenario, she'll piss off a powerful mage. Worst case scenario? The entire town burns. Quill-Weave's book is destroyed. Katia escapes and is charged with arson and has to go on the run to avoid the law.
    Yeah, that's a great idea.

Katia's going to be losing things. We need to accept that. She probably won't even listen to us. All we can do is strategically lose things. Best case scenario, Katia walks out with Quill-Weave's books and money and her amulet. She's lost a lot, but material goods can be gotten back. She has what she came for and that's what's important.
Worst case scenario, Katia loses her amulet. Great. Now we've pissed of a guildmaster and Katia can't control her powers. She'll drink what mana she has like a kitten with a saucer of milk. And since at this point she'll be a criminal, the only charge she's going to get is from people flinging fireballs at her.

I'll say it again. Katia, whatever you do, do not take off your amulet.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

    >Katia: Wait! All that stuff isn't even your's to give! You are a professional courier are you not? And that happens to be a package specifically for Quill-Weave! Lets not forget that money is also for her.

You need to take responsibility and understand, no matter how much sense you think it makes to give this women your stuff, this isn't even your stuff, your pretty much stealing from your friend, is that what you want to be? A thief. Put all of your stuff back in your bag, and tell the very beautiful and nice lady, that you will give her even better stuff at a later time, but the items in your bag are spoken for. Don't worry, Sigrid, and all of her beauty and grace, will be here at a later time for you to give the rest of your money and items, but only after you have fulfilled all of your prier obligations.

THERE'S GOOD NEWS IN THIS UPDATE

Sigrid, an NPC with 100% Speech/Mercantile, had to use a potion to tip the scales in her favor.
Without said potion, she would have gotten nothing and lost the 'mercantile negotiation'.

    What does this mean?

    KATIA HAS ****ING 100 SPEECH/MERCANTILE.

Damnable Sigrid had to CHEAT to beat Katia!
    THINK ABOUT THAT.

    Not.

Katia might want to go into playing the market. Buying low and selling high. She could possibly pull it off.

Either that or Sigrid needs to uphold her contract with Nah (which, now that I think of it, would totaly explain the bloody door) and decided to kill two birds with one stone.

Lets go with the Katia = speech master. I doubt she has high mercantile because she couldn't convince Tavia OR Hirtel to give her a better deal, despite her trying.

I'm pretty sure someone has already said this, but I'm a little reluctant to check at 3 in the morning, l'est I doze off.

Katia is likely to give her everything.

If that includes the amulet of silence (or the fiery doom stopper thingy), we need to UNLEASH THE PUN.

Unless someone has nixed this already, in which case i'm a fuckin' idiot/0

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Igniting the Mages Guild, while tempting in these circumstances, is likely to draw down the wrath of the Kvatch City Guard. While it is possible that Katia may get off with a sentence of 'sitting in the time-out chair' under the new, experimental judicial system they have in place, it is not at all unlikely that Sigrid would convince the guards to confiscate her belongings.
Bibliophael decides to take a hand.

    Tremble, mortals, and despair.
