Katia: sit outside the Mage's guild and mew pathetically until someone helps you.
Okay, that's fair. I think maybe he mentioned it to me once at a meet-up or something when the subject of Prequel was broached? Not sure, but I am sure he's said it. In any case, yeah, I think Kaz has more than enough material to work with, so I'm just gonna let my commands (go back and get Quill-Weave's help, she's smart and will believe you) stand as they are.
Katia: Whatever you do, DO NOT attack Sigrid. She has the whole town ensorcelled, and they most likely will not take kindly to any hostile action against her. Try talking to Stephane (Steve) when he's away from Sigrid. He seems to be resistant to her alchemy somehow, although she must have other ways of controlling him. Perhaps he can help you take her down, and in doing so, help himself. If all else fails, speak to Asotil. Even as great as he thinks she is, justice must come first. Remind him of that.
>caterwaul outside Sigrid's window until she starts throwing shit at you
>continue until inventory is fully recovered
Katia: Okay, you have two courses of action here.
1. Run away in your faux-underwear into the night hoping for some miracle to occur so that your new life isn't a complete failure already, and you fail your only (DARE WE SAY?) friend on the one thing she trusted you for.
2. Crazy ass shit that could get you killed.
The latter sounds the better of the two, shockingly, so let's look at that.
You are a powerful fire mage with a full stock of magicka. You don't need to will magic into happening, your will shapes it while the voices in your head making cat-puns starts it. So, let's get into this. If you remove your amulet, and tie an easy to remove knot into it, it'll take a bit before you can put it back on. If you go in and ask for your stuff back, the voices in your head can start fires even if she tells you not to with her charms. You can inform her that fire start outside of your control (don't give details). If she lets you go with your stuff in tact, you've lost nothing and she's lost nothing, there's no harm to her so she may be agreeable. The issue with this plan is if Sigrid decides to attack back. The thing is, I don't think she will. While some of the other voices may disagree with me here, it sounded like she doesn't know much outside of alchemy and is trying to cover this up, probably because of the danger of the scenario I'm describing happening. Maybe not the best option, but it's there. Consider waiting until Steve leaves, we don't exactly know who he supports or how powerful he is.
Good luck, with whatever you do.
Actually, I've read comics like this where, after weeks and weeks of comic, the readers told the character to jump into an open vent to hide; turned out that there was an industrial fan in the vent (as is with most giant wall vents) and it killed off the character and the story had a bad end. And that was it. Comic over.
He later released his plans for the whole story and was pretty bummed that he had to end it like that.
If we put Katia in a position that will kill her off, Kaz will (hopefully) have to kill her off. If there was no risk involved in the story, then it'd get dull.
I only hope that when we inevitably murder Katia, Kaz will be kind enough to tell us how he wanted the story to end.
There's no law in adventure comic writing that requires a person to kill of the main character because people suggested a course of action that has lethal consequences, there's also no law in adventure comic writing that requires that such a death be permanent or that it cannot be retconned by the very next update.
In fact I'm pretty sure there's no law in adventure comic writing at all aside from rules self-imposed by the author. So if an author is bummed that "he had to end it like that" then he really has no one to blame but himself.
I think we can trust Kaz to have some common sense about what makes a good story. I mean heck, the story's been good so far. That's evidence enough in my opinion.
There's no law that says the main character has to live either. If Kaz makes it so that no matter the situation we put Katia in she'll always make it out okay, then the story wouldn't be quite as thrilling. it'd actually get boring after a while. Now if we know that Katia could die if we screw up, then it gives the story an edge and keeps it interesting.
I disagree. There's far more that can keep a story interesting than just the fear of death. In fact one of the things that really started to annoy me about the hunger games was the relentless fear experienced by the main characters. It was fine in the first book and seemed entirely fitting, kind of annoying in the second book, but near to the end of the third book it was just depressing, and frustrating. The possibility of death is a spice, not a requirement to keep a story interesting.
Further there's far more to consider in terms of negatives to Katia than just the possibility of death. There's the loss of all of her money and stuff, again. Failing Quill-Weave, again. Regressing back into alcoholism, again. Basically, making a cat cry again. All of these things are possible if we screw up, hell, they are even possible if we don't. There are other options too, maiming, crippling, psychological trauma all of which may or may not be permanent. So there are many ways Katia can make it out of a situation alive, but not okay.
Further, I have no problem with Katia dying because we screw up, that's an alright consequence. If that death is permanent, then I'll be sad, but I won't begrudge Kaz his right to write the story how he sees fit.
However, I'd rather not have Prequel end because we gave a lot of stupid commands. Which was the whole point of my bringing up the no laws in adventure comic writing thing. Because that example you mentioned really did seem like the failure of an author. Authors should write stories they are satisfied with, if nothing else.

Nah, Katia's true potential lies in being a mage, the shoeless-apprentice-robe look works for her quite well (IMO >.>), I'm not sure fighter's guild attire would really suit her, not any form of armor.
Besides, I highly doubt she's going to attempt to pick up any other quests from people whilst stark naked, her best bet is getting her robes back asap.
At 1st, sorry about my english.
I tried my best, but I'm sure, that my best is much worse, than anyone average.
But, I spend a week to invent this part of a story.
================================================== ====
Try to make Sigrid feel guility about it. Make her read Katia's diary.
After few painfull moments book'll fly through the window.
__________________________________________________ __________
Meanwhile Katia will certainly feel horrible.
Doors'll be magicly locked for sure, guards'll have no evidences...
Katia will fall into total depression.
With no friendly help, no hope.
Katia Managan has failed.
And she hate this world.
(make her {stil, trim, tear, cut???[sorry'bout my englisz]}
her vines BUT NOT DEADLY{she isn't professional anyway})
__________________________________________________ __________
Meanwhile give sigrid extended amount of guility.
In exchange of comedy book, give her novel about converted thief.
(Maby one of Quill's)
The idea of this guy comes from Terry Pratchett's "Making Postal".
He ras haingeg to nearly-death, and reborn as the postmaister"
of fallen govermental idea. As the ex-thief he's got /porrol?/ oficer
wathing his back. A Golem. This Golem was studing his crimes,
and ones, when they were araging about the post and golem's
rights, he told the thief:
You have killed 22,8 people.
-I've never even draw the sword!
You have stolen, embezzle and swing.
You have ruined buisneses and destroy lives.
When banks fail, it's not bankers who starve.
In a thousand small ways, you have /haisen?/ the deaths of many.
You did not know them. You did not see them bleed.
But you've snached bread from their mouths.
...
There will be no running.
Kaz, i somehow know, that sigrid has got good hearth [eyes can't lie], but propably locked in the chest of greed [hah]. She is good person inside.
So make her DYING from guility, enough to make her run after Katia with her stuff,
tears, and excuses.
...
Then, after opening the door, let her see Katia covered with blood, on Nah's hands,
and let her hear words:
-You did it again, diwint you?

You are remarkably poetic in our language for someone who doesn't speak it my friend. Also, if it were at all possible to get Katia to do this in general, even without Sigrid making things difficult with that perfume, I would say "Yes, totally, go for it." However, no offence to our friend Managan, but I'm not sure if she's quite intelligent enough to think of it, nor really confident enough to say it. It's not quite in character for her from what I've seen. Then again, what do I know?
Katia is a novice fire mage who has lost every contest of magic we have seen. Granted, she has not really been trying to win those contests, but the most we can grant Katia at this time is that she has potential. But her training to date is one lesson by a non-magician, which may have went well or even very well for a beginner, but shows her skill is quite limited. And she clearly does not have a full stock of magicka. In fact, she may be almost drained.
Nor can we assume that Sigrid has limited magic skills. She has casually demonstrated knowledge and skill well beyond Katia's. In any cat-fight, we have to assume that Sigrid will win easily. Now we may be able to assume Sigrid is not a casual killer, and so Katia may not be risking her life. But even then Sigrid has friends everywhere and so jail seems a likely result
If that was the case, as I've thought before in my head when it was first mentioned, would regret ever discovering this comic
I don't want to be indulged in a story and be like "Bam!" (Lame ending of Katia dying in a stupid way)
consequence is fine, but killing off the Protagonist is way too far for me
This Idea would basically make everyone's commands purposely shelter Katia away from any danger whatsoever (at least for me it would), and leave the Idea of adventure lost.
Vaba Do'Shurh'do
be the dracorex hogwartsia dreaming of that nice cat lady!

Honestly, this reminds me of playing Oblivion- Personally, I found that Atronachs sucked as pure wizards because of the stunted magicka issue. HOWEVER, if you play one as a spellsword kind of character, with decent weapon and armor skills, you can end up crazy overpowered. Out of magic? Draw your sword! Mobbed by weaklings? Area of effect fire/lightning/frost spell will take out most weak mobs. Throw in stealth and security, and you're able to do quite a bit of shenanigans. Thus, I think Katia should get some experience with melee skills next- She'll need to actually find armor before she can use it, but that'll happen when it happens.
Besides, what rule says you can't wear armor AND robes at the same time? If all else fails, we can make epic armored robes of awesomesauce later on. Or possibly just throw a hooded cape on top of daedric armor... Actually, I like that idea very much.
EEPY: Play fetch with the new stuff thhat Sigrid has just aquired, and return them to their rightful owner.
You know, the nice nice cat lady that blew the room up.
And use Sigrids ill gotten pile of gold as a litter tray. And tear up her curtains.
