I got an idea, before you even get in a huge inner debate about the pros and cons of drinking now, maybe you should take a look at the label on the bottle. Bet you would feel pretty stupid if the bottle was full of pipe cleaner or the tears of orphans, it could even be empty.

Oh sure, you can call yourself a dumb animal all day long, but what is really convincing me is that dumb animals don't read. Prove me wrong, make me look like an ass. This isn't about deep "and this time I won't fuck up" moments were you only let yourself down later, this about proving that you can help yourself and not give up on everything you worked for on purpose. Life is full of fuck ups, but you are suppose to take those bumps in the road in step and keep on marching. Maybe they can, at the very least, give you a place to sleep out of the rain. Maybe there's still hope to be had for pulling yourself out of this mess.

Read the previous panels. QUill-Weave was disappointed in her because she simply gave up all hope. If Katia bares with the brood qualms of the world (and she can), she will prevail.

C'mon girl, you've still got one last chance to prove to Quil-Weave and the world that you're no stray animal: you're THE Katia Managan. Now get your pussy ass back to the Mage's Guild. Sigrid's probably thinking you gave up, so she's probably gone to bed. Sap the magic barrier dry and sneak in and steal back your stuff and whatever else you can. Even if they catch you, sapping a spell that powerful will give you such a huge well of magicka to pull from that you'd probably be able to overpower them, or at least get away as you set the place ablaze from within.

You don't need to be a hero, but that doesn't mean you're going to let some spoiled wench of an enchantress and a useless priest of a Breton get the better of you.

Katia: It appears that you believe yourself to be a fuck up. When you take recent events alone as the only sign of your ability to succeed sure... things could look bleak. This whole fiasco with the Mages Guild of Kvatch could make anyone look foolish. Considering the fact that , indeed, you believed this place could have been good for you certainly seems to make this failure (even if among several others of the past few days) to be of relatively grandiose nature. But then again if all you look at is your failures you're bound to make yourself depressed.

The simple fact of the matter is this you've lived a life already yet youve decided to grant yourself a new one. For whatever the reason may be, it appears that you think the past many years of your life (and subsequent lack of skill) can be washed away in just a few days. Self improvement takes time and dedication. Just this morning you WERE dedicated and even if the current situation may make you feel as nothing more than an annoyance, a fragment, or even a burden you should also realize anyone who ever became successful (barring some incredible happenstance or stroke of luck) ended up failing many upon many times.

In three days you have done a lot. Sure not ALL of it has been positive and some of it has even been of almost reprehensible nature, but you've actually garnered yourself not one but several friends. You finally managed to show affection and receive in turn with that hug. You certainly have seen that not everyone is uncaring towards you and you of them. How often have you known that before? You've managed to explore a new land. You've discovered some of the talents you have in which you did not previously believe you had You've discovered something that you can do that you had always wanted to do.You, Katia, have held fire in your hands.

So Ja'Khajiit make your decision. Better yourself, or wallow in whatever sorrow best suits you. Sure bad decisions happen. Acknowledge and learn from them so as not to repeat them. From the good decisions you have made embrace them and make them as you. Feeling terrible at this very moment is not but normal. Just don't lose yourself to whatever pessimism inevitably crops up.

Katia: If you wish to surmise about dedication and just what makes up a difficult decision think of this. You just ran all the way to the bookstore on a hope and a prayer. A course of action that in all likelihood had a low chance of success. For a crumpled up note. A note which would in fact signify that indeed not all today was shot. Decisions like this are what make up a strong personality, mayhaps one that could eventually be great. It wasn't a hard decision, but was in fact a tough one. You made a decision that you likely knew could make you feel even worse. Yet you took that step and decided to accept failure on your own terms. Initiative alone has solved quite a few fools. Planning and dedication to being better has saved them.



Also does anyone else think that Prequel is more a story of Katias personal self discovery? Especially in terms of game terms. She would have already discovered several Major Skills (Destruction, Mysticism?, Blunt etc...) Attribute (willpower at this moment seems a fair bet which is technically a terrible attribute for atronachs (also birthsigns)). Seeing as Katia seemed to know very little of her own self before this I've found this side story thread to actually be more interesting than her struggles.

There's that R-word again. Somebody's butthurt because they forgot this is Kaz's story, not theirs, and he's the one who ultimately decides where he wants it to go.

Don't forget that. You're not the author. You're not AN author. All you are is a guy supplying commands that Kazerad will sometimes use in the course of the story, and which might affect the course of certain events, but certainly won't affect the course of the story as a whole.

If Katia IS the Champion of Cyrodiil, things won't possibly get better for her until the Oblivion Crisis begins. Thus, any time things start to look up, you can bet your ass it's all gonna come crashing down by nightfall. That is the nature of this story.

If she's not the CoC? Well... then it's not realistic to imagine her life improving, 'cause fate is a pretty brutal thing in TES. Either way, don't come in here with accusations of railroading like you have some claim to the story. Like Kaz is somehow writing his own goddamn story wrong. It's rude, it's self-entitled, and it's entirely the wrong attitude to be taking part in this kind of thing.

Guys, stop with the "people in the car and Katia's driving" picture, too. Katia's not driving this. Kaz is. And you know what?

He gives us some influence over events that occur in the story, but not the course of the story itself. There is a beginning and a destination. We cannot change those, nor can we change where the rest stops are. That's for the better; frankly, the more control the actual author has over his story, the better it turns out. I mean, fuck, look at Problem Sleuth as compared to Homestuck.

Railroading is a term used exclusively by those entitled audience members who believe they have some sort of ownership over the story. You don't. So cut that shit out.

Katia, in a drunken stupor, grabs on to the first living thing with two legs she can see, that of course being Martin tending to the souls of the dead. Martin, being highly experienced in this area, takes rather openly to Katia's advancements, he also has a sneaking suspicion that this may be the last time he'll be getting any for a long, long time. For hours and hours they ravish eachother, leaving no tomb un-raided, as if there would be no tomorrow, er- at least there wouldn't be one by the end of the week. Katia awoke the next morning sporting a new set of clothes and a pouch full of money, she chooses not to question this, but as she is leaving she hears the words "now where have all the collections gone?" shouted by the primate, she proceeds to abscond as quickly as possible. Months later Katia finds herself heavy with child, but being that Katia is not but a poor deranged Khajiiti (as well as having no idea where the baby came from), no one could possibly know or believe that her child is the true heir to the Empire's throne. What's worse is that for the very first time in the history of the world a Khajiit is made pregnant by another species, her child would be viewed as a heathenous abomination to the world! Thus discovering the her child was human and not Khajiit, she knew she must go into hiding. From then on all of Katia's descendants were a long line of interracial half-breed abominations, offspring of mere passersby in the lives of Katia's descendants. For two centuries they remained hidden, unseen by all.

Enter Skyrim.

When the author uses commands from the forums to move the story along but insists on twisting them to go along a different plot, that's the textbook definition of railroading. And you know, what, that would be okay, if we were fucking going somewhere. It's been a full year since the start of the story, and the main character is worse off than she started, again. It was fine after spilling the wine, because Katia was actually looking like she might eventually be important to something, even negatively. But no, just more of "stupid cat girl who only mildly annoys everyone she comes across." Where's the story? A cat gets dunk and robbed of everything she owns. Twice. That's it! Oh and there was an arc about a necromancer that went no where because he died for no reason.

Being irritated because a story that looked promising has not gone anywhere after months of waiting is completely different from "thinking this is my story". I just want something to happen.
