Quill-weave doesn't need you, not when she finds out how you've ruined everything. Asotil will go on without you. Sigrid will do more with your belongings than you ever could. No one cares about you. You're homeless. A nobody. And yet you have the nerve to try and help others? Please. You can't even make yourself happy.

Face it, you can't be happy and you can't make other people happy. It's not something you're capable of. So isn't it about time that you stopped trying? It was stupid to even bother in the first place. You should run away from Kvatch, away from everyone and everything. That's what you did when you came to Cyrodiil, right? That's what you did when you came up with that silly name. That's not you. You've realized this. Running away is the only thing you're good at, so just go. Spare the townsfolk the trouble of chastising you for the lonely, pathetic beggar you really are. In fact, Tamriel would probably be a better place if you wandered off into the woods and disappeared. Wouldn't it?

    Think. Wouldn't it?

    Go.
This. Become a wild beast in the woods. Perhaps Hircine will accept you if no one else does? Or perhaps, rather more likely even, you will just become something's prey.

Worth a try, I say. If he takes you, you will finally be something notable. If he doesn't, then at least it's the end for this silly charade.

Katia: Pick up that bottle behind you. You've come along way, and made some amazing strides. Pick up the bottle. Now it seems it's all been for naught. Pick up the bottle. In the face of a greater foe you've suffered an utter defeat. Pick up the bottle. What's left to you now but to spiral down further into despair?

Katia pick up the bottle, and throw it against the wall. Because what you have learned Katia can never be taken away. What was lost was of no great value, twenty-four coins, an ironic hate letter, a magic book Hirtel valued at one coin, and a bunch of assorted crap much of which may find it's way to Sigrid's garbage tomorrow.

Your mission has only slightly altered you now need forty-one Drakes to replace the grammar and restoration books. You must attack this goal with renewed desperation. The contents of the hate letter were unimportant only that it was the typical preorder of twenty books to be payed the next time Hirtel's in Anvil.

Chin up at least the rain will bring roses.

You are always the Ja'khajiit, you may forget this or try to deny this, but you will know, the back of your mind that little voice will speaks this truth, that is you, you are a destructive failure kitten.
You are not this Katia, or this Managan, or even a normal Khajiit. You are worthless, accept it, be the slutty failure you really are. You know you will be happier if you just accept it. There is no escaping yourself, you cant change, you cant be any better, and you wont stop being the Ja'khajiit. Just pick up that bottle and drown our your ambition to be better, you stupid cat. Resistance of the truth only brings us back here again. Hope is not something trash like you needs, get rid of it, and you'll have it easier. No amount of luck, friendship, mana, or gold is going to change the truth, you will always be the Ja'khajiit. Why do you fight it, it just makes it more painful. You cant even sleep without failing, you need to stop this sillyness and be the Ja'khajiit. Dont you get that this is the way you belong, your not even good enough to have clothes. How many times must we go over this, you are the Ja'khajiit. You will always be the Ja'khajiit. There is not escape from it. You always was the Ja'khajiit. Dont fight yourself. You cannot win.

What's this, another failure? Bah! Pathetic. And are you going to try to make things better? Are you going to keep going? Are you going to do what it takes to succeed? Press on in the face of adversity?

    Of course not.

Because by now you've seen the bottle and you just don't give enough of a damn to keep your claws away from it. You just don't care, do you? You want to fail! You want to get drunk and crawl back to Quillweave's house because it's just so much easier, isn't it, not to try? You can huddle behind the excuse that the universe hates you, but deep down you'll know the truth. I'll know the truth. And I'm going to remind you of it every day of your godsdamned life. You have a choice, here, housecat. But we all know that you're going to fuck it up, just like everything else.

    You disgusting creature.

With any luck the bottle will be poisoned.

But we need to temper that somehow, or she'll rush off back to the guild again and it seems like that would be a futile gesture right now.

We need Katia to take everything. To imagine all the hurt, all the anger and the rage as a physical object. Something she can take a hold of, grasp it and stuff it into a tiny little ball of vengeance, and pack it all away in some mental cupboard until it's time to unleash it.
    Or maybe...

Katia, take that bottle beside you, pretend it's everything that has betrayed you and wronged you. (Not far from the truth actually.) And smash the shit out of that bastard!

Katia, chill, it's not your fault. You're being haunted by an omniscient and omnipotent asshole who's determined to make sure that your every decision back fires horribly. Don't freak out, you're actually doing rather well. You've lasted a few days under his hateful eye, that necromancer bloke couldn't even go an hour before getting pointlessly killed. But listen, now that you know this, it's time to use a new magic. A dark, deep magic, one that bends reality itself. It's time to achieve CHIM.

    Just toss it away.

Thumbs up Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

MMmmhhh sometimes, the worst enemy of one is one himself. Specially if you doubt of yourself.

    Katia:
Now now, first you're not a "dumb stray animal". You're a person, and like all of them, you sometimes fail and sometimes win.
Some people has more obstacles in life (like you), but only those who are willing to overcome them can succeed. You had travelled from very far. You had a lot of adventures and learn a lot during this trip. You never give up and you know you won't.

Now that Life is giving you a hypocrite smile with rotten teeths, the only thing you can do is return the smile and move on. That smile like your few friends like to see.

So, let the rain wash away your tears. Take a deep breath and Focus.
Go to the Church, maybe you can find shelter there. Otherwise, look out for a City Guard. They may tend you a hand if you explain that you had been robbed. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Everyone needs it from time to time. You had been in worst situations. Remember that underground cave? You were alone, and managed to go through it.

She always fails. Can't we just let her sit in the rain until she catches something that kills her so we can get a new character who Kaz isn't insistent on railroading into a slutty pile of goo every single night?

Yeah, okay, throw it. But throw it against something hard. Like that chapels stone wall next to you.

    Not Ja'Khajiit. Jo'Khajiit.

Katia: Even that rude bartender acknowledged what you are. He addressed you as Jo'Khajiit - wizard Khajiit.

Remember who else recognized that you were a wizard? Arch Mage Traven, head of the fucking Mages Guild. Sigrid's Bane. He saw that even without the fancy robes. Even naked and penniless, you still have your talent.

Stop this self-castigating nonsense right now. You are a mage. The power is in your blood, and it can never be stolen from you.

Now paint on your big girl panties and get Katia F. Managan back on her feet. Remember, I gave you ten minutes to cry and feel sorry for yourself. Time's up. It's time to start living again.

Whoever gives Katia bad rep needs to know that it was our fault that we brought her under this predicament. We have to redeem ourselves to her as a bad consciousness.

If we just give this lady another chance by going to another guild hall, we can see some damn good things from her. All she has to do is IGNORE THAT ALCOHOL.

Katia : Before you ever put absolutely any thought on that bottle, what would be more understanding to Quill-weave, going back without the letter and without the package delivered? or perhaps going back Drunk with another stranger in her bed and still unsuccessful?

Two spells. Two. Even random weak dudes in prison right now know at least two spells and how to control them, it's nothing special; Katia doesn't even know any restoration spells. Also, Traven is not yet Arch Mage, or at least he was not when Katia met him.

Honestly, I think Katia needs a good scolding. It may actually yield better results than trying to build her up, since she has a tendency to be defiant.

She's just starting out at a late age; perhaps we can give her just a bit more time?

The current year is 3E433. Traven has been Arch Mage for two years now.

Katia> Let's give you a few much needed kisses. You may be a poor dumb animal, but you still need them. Now buck up. This may be a lousy time, but you are not at rock bottom yet. And remember, each hill has been a little higher. First time, you didn't even leave town. Next time, you were barely out of town. This time, you made it to the city. So next time... You can still win.
Now that bottle may actually be a good thing. If you can resist drinking it, you can sell it for clothing and such. So current program...
    1. Try to salvage letter. It may be all soggy and in pieces, but you will be able to dry out those pieces and put it back together.
    2. Take bottle. [Sadly there is lots of room in your inventory now.] Do not drink. Hold on for sale or gift.
    3. Seek nearest shelter. The chapel might be best, but just so it is dry...

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

    Oh, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhugar.

Alright, first of all, don't call yourself such awful things. What have you done to deserve such abuse, eh? You made a mistake, a simple, easy mistake that everyone in Kvatch has made at some point or another. You trusted Sigrid. Is that any reason to start beating yourself up? Trusting another person? Being a kind and understanding individual? I think not.

Let's look at what we've done since arriving in Cyrodiil. Before Sigrid got involved, we'd made friends, found a job and even earned a little cash! We had magic! We had self respect! Are we going to let that nasty old Sigrid take that away from us? Look at how far we've come! We can shoot freaking fire from our hands, how cool is that? Don't let the actions of a mean old bag turn you against yourself. You're better than that. We know you are.

What happened this evening isn't your fault. It's not your fault that Sigrid is a devious con artist. It's not your fault that she used some potion to shut off your brain for a few minutes. It certainly isn't your fault that it started raining.

Come on, Jo'Khajiit! Chin up! What do you say we take that bottle over there and show Old Man Alcohol what we think of his nonsense, eh? That's right, just throw it down a well. Then let's head over to the chapel for some rest and a talk with the priests, alright? Come on, it's all going to be okay.
