    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Do you guys want Katia to go to prison? She would also be burning down all of her things and be committing murder, not self-defense. Asotil wouldn't pause more than to give a speech before stabbing her at that point. Quill-Weave wouldn't want an insane arsonist friend. She would be worse than just off of the boat square one. She would be emotionally damaged, still naked, felon Katia. This is not a plan.

For the record, I don't think it counts as a crime if we convince somebody ELSE to kill Sigrid. And we know Nah hates alchemy, and that Sigrid is an alchemist, so we can probably convince her to help.
I hereby acknowledge that any of the preceeding words might possibly be nonsensical, insane, illogical, or just plain weird.

Nah has an arrangement with Sigrid. It's pretty likely Sigrid scares the shit out of her, and vampires typically like to steer clear of the Mage's Guild, since mages make the best vampire spotters and hunters.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Also, I'm not sure why some people think Sigrid is a mediocre mage. I mean, even with just alchemy and no mercantile, it's EASY to pay for lots of training. I wouldn't be surprised if she was in the 60-80 range in most magic skills, especially given she could probably just sweet talk her superiors into giving her help with her studies.

Evidence of Sigrid's power as a mage- Sumoned a clanfear without missing a beat, as a joke. Also easily gauged the strength of a frost spell so it was just strong enough to put katia's tail-flame out without breaking her out of her trance, while still putting the flame out instantly. Even if Katia has more raw power, i's obvious that sigrid has a hell of a lot of control... And if she's born under the sign of apprentice or mage, she's probably able to give katia a run for her money power-wise as well.

And for the urine mask- Sure, that'll defend against stealthy use of telvanni bug musk, but what'll it do against a charm spell? Yeah, Katia has a 50% chance of absorbing it, but I'm sure sigrid can cast two or three if required.

So, to sum it up- Attacking a more experienced mage straight on in the middle of her seat of power is STUPID. Let's win a dance contest, and use the money to get a contract with the brotherhood. While someone else is killing off your hated enemy, you can be sipping pina coladas- Virgin, of course. Or maybe, you know, TRAINING so next time you can kill your oponent yourself.

Contacting the Dark Brotherhood isn't exactly easy, you realize. You need a full human skeleton, human flesh, a human heart, nightshade, and a place where you can kneel there praying to the Night Mother for hours on end without getting caught and arrested.

Oh. And you need buttloads of money to pay the Dark Brotherhood.

Seriously, guys, Katia has people in Anvil she can go to. This isn't her fault, and anybody who would blame her for what happened isn't really a friend anyway. She got scammed by a figure of authority. She didn't even fall for a phishing scam here, Sigrid actually IS the head of the Mage's Guild up in Kvatch, she's just abusing her power.

For the record, it very definitely does count as a crime, particularly when you pay them or offer them a share of the loot. Now they may have trouble proving it and there are often questions about whether you encouraged them enough to really count, but you are not in the clear just because you were not at the scene of the crime.

At first I felt like the interview was done kind of amateurish, but nevertheless I still found it very interesting.

Space-time is like a questionable sausage: nobody knows who or what made it, or where it came from, or what it's made of, and if you eat it all you'll probably die. Moral: don't eat space-time.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

You know, one septim is the same as any other. If no one actually saw you steal a coin, who's to say it wasn't yours to begin with? That said, if you surreptitiously replaced a possession of Sigrid's with a similar object, and she were to pick it up. . . I'm fairly sure Asotil would Kool-Aid man through the Guild wall to punch her in the face, regardless of how much he likes her. (The law is his first and only love.) If Sigrid spends a night in jail. . . well that's a lot of unwatched coin. I'm not saying that's a good plan, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

    First time i post here
I can easily figure out some of you guys are *terrible* with role playing games (or games in general), am i right?

It actually sucks that there is no moderation here; most commands are completely dumb, like the ones that suggest to get back inside, burn the place, contact the dark brotherhood etc.. I also like the posts where people try to command random characters "katia sees X running towards here" (why don't you make her "see" a dragon ready to obey to her? ahah!).

It's the first time i'm reading something like this (user-driven), and i'm very surprised to see the ratio of decent commands vs dumb ones. I actually fail to understand if most of the "bad" inputs have been written like that on purpose (just for fun), or if their authors did really completely misunderstood the real nature of the characters they're dealing with.
Some of them didn't even read how commands should be posted, and insist in writing them in the post comments of the blog.
It kinda reminds me of the youtube comments that asks for something that can be found in the introduction of the video, in the ending, and also in the comments: it's sooooo lame

I've also read about the "railroading" accusations; this is not railroading, it's just giving bad inputs because you either forgot the previous panels or didn't read them at all. I can understand not all of the guys here are gamers, but it's still dumb to confront someone that it's clearly better than you, even in real life. It looks more like Kazerad is trying his best NOT to kill the protagonist despite the absurd commands that are given.

Since i'm here, i'll also dare to give a command; the first and last one (i don't think i'll ever post again here).
    It *should* be obvious, but:
    1. Let's make clear that Katia doesn't want to burn anything: she lacks the skill, it's useless, it's a crime, and it would harm others (everything here is against her nature)
    2. Let's make clear that Katia doesn't want to become a thief: don't try to break in, don't try to steal stuff
    3. Let's make clear that the stuff now belongs to Sigrid, it doesn't matter if some of that stuff didn't belong to Katia: there's no way to prove it (and even if it was, it's STILL useless: keep in mind Sigrid's position in the mage guild - and her talents)
    4. Let's also make clear that Katia would never try to confront someone, even if she knows she's right

Stay away from the mage guild and everyone that is connected to it
Don't try to report what happened, that would be a useless waste of time
Ask for help in the chapel: they could be willing to provide something for katia to wear (they may even fix her hands and eye)
Sleep somewhere; if there're no secure places, just spend the rest of the night in the chapel until morning
Collect ingredients and stuff that doesn't belong to anyone
Sell what you can/use the rest (if any) to train skills
Get a weapon suitable for the character and train (even a stick taken from a tree would be enough)
She doesn't have to fight now, she can use all the magicka she can obtain to train destruction
See if there's something she can eat/drink from outside the city (apples etc..)

Kazerad: keep up the good work

    Alex

With the most likely assumption, Katia's gonna be walking through the Gates of Oblivion, as well is I agree she shouldn't just walk back in, but at least have a plan.
This is Baby steps here, Katia needs to finally stand up for herself if she's ever gonna get anywhere o.o
she's destined to save Tamriel yet you'd just simply let her walk away naked and start over again.

She's the Protagonist, she basically can't die so other than a horrific injury, What do we have to lose? (considering she already has lost everything)

No, she has it because she is a bad ass that went onto the enemy's territory (water) for no foreseeable monetary gain! She should be respected.

That said, Katia should take the clothes issue first, while hanging out in your undies is not technically illegal, it is frowned upon and not something a respectful lady would do, so I drew you up this handy guide to clothing ~A how to: pick covering~

And also because some of us want a fancy ending where Katia isn't the Champion of Cyrodiil, like my previous post...

As fur turned to flame and flesh to an inferno, as claws turned to molten rock and feet rose from cobbled streets, this rage became a link to planes beyond Nirn's own, the first link to these barren wastes of a series of larger. In another place at the same moment, a mace broke through skull, and life slipped from the wielder of the shield from the fiery infernos. And so as paint burned so fast as to turn to solid stone, and eyes melted into pure magick flames, the Atronach burst through tender, aged wood, in a rage to consume the city. Charred wood flew as a white explosion flashed, and with limbs raised skyward, palms open wide, the Atronach held burning magicka essence. At that moment, three similar links were made just outside, to be followed with another larger than the rest. An invasion of property and an invasion of a city. An inferno of rage, and an inferno of destruction. It was at that moment when an Atronach became a Fire Atronach, and a planet became a battleground.

That would be a cool one I think. But in any case, it really isn't our faults that Katia got screwed.

Also, listened to the Interview link.
