Oh hey, this looks pretty cool. Unfortunately I won't be able to take a look at the demo for a few hours, but as soon as I do I can start helping out with editing the sprites.
No, the only current difference is the asthetic. However in the finished game both the outfit and weapon will affect speed, the weapon will affect damage, and the outfit will affect defense. Still deciding whether to have max health based on characters or to set it to 100 for all and just have defense be the main factor. Also you will be able to make your own human/troll.![]()
Dreamswapped: Currently 0 dreams, 0 swaps, 1 hell of a misnomer
Godtear: The gods may weep (fledgeling text adventure(indefinite hiatus)
your chumhandle is audaciouslyComplex and as your name would suggest you know to many words for your own good.
Also, I think that the size of the weapon should affect the dexterity of the character.
For example, if John was using the Wrinklefucker, since that's a REALLY big hammer, the attack speed should be slow, while if he uses the normal, default hammer, he can attack faster.
Haha, don't worry about it, I'll do my best to balance it out. Perhaps I can have an option to make sure the game is balanced, and an option to have stats close to canon (i.e god tier John would have a pretty good advantage against pre-Sburb Dave, but not so much that it's broken).
I'm having certain characters have more damage than others throughout all their weapons as well; For example, John has stronger overall attack throughout his weapons compared to Dave, but slower consecutive attack animations.
Not to mention, the stats won't have a HUGE effect on the gameplay. Just something so the different weapons actually mean something.

will you have to unlock the weapons and cloths or is it all just going to be unlocked
Preliminary Sollux sheet. If there's anything you need changed on the body tell me. Also, there isn't really an effective 'hurt' face especially since he's got those glasses so tell me if you want me to make one or you could just use the anger face for both. Also if you can could you give kind of a rundown of what you want his attacks to look like so I can get the arms to look good?
I think for that you could use Dave's attack arms but give him a wand with a swooshy light trail sort of thing? Yeah Eridan seems pretty tricky all in all what with his cape and strange pants.
I was expecting stats to be VERY close to canon. It has Simulator written on it!
Also, can someone make a god-tier gamzee spritesheet? I want to make it happen, but if I did it myself it'd look terrible.
BTW does anyone have a sprite of vriskas second walking animation, a feet facing outwards position, and her kicking?
Aradia?
(I tweaked it a bit a lot)
Thoughts?

I'm going to have Sollux, Vriska, Eridan and possibly others have some melee attacks (Because Vriska attacking with dice over and over would just be silly). Basically don't worry about it right now, just having the base parts right now will suffice. We can always add on later
Unlocked through achievements
Holy shit that is awesome, great work
Yeah, it's always touchy to make something either close to canon, or actually balanced. Working towards a happy medium.
I'm going to take a break from personally working on the sprite rips and work on more combat mechanics, since you guys are doing an awesome job with the sheets anyway. Will update the credits + completed sheets on the main post tomorrow, 5 AM at the moment :P

Cool game, I'm looking forward to the finished version. Will there be special moves later on or only normal and knockdown? How about supers?
I tried playing against the demo computer just now, and damn that guy is a tricky bastard. First time I played he got me to 0 HP really fast. Though I did fall in the lava all the time.
I liked the jump kick but I literally only actually hit him with it once, and since there's no win or loss conditions, I was just sparring with Dave for a good ten minutes.
Anyway then I got the hang of things and managed to beat him the second round. You really have to know how to block and dodge. It feels a lot like Dave and Bro's strife with all the flashstepping and oh my god it is so much fun

updoot
aradiabot's arms were wrong and also I wanted to make her blink
Oh yeah and I found a thing in the demo
if you stand on one side of the lava that you have to jump over, you can just whack the computer as he tries to hop to you, and there's pretty much nothing he can do it about it, he just falls in the lava over and over again
You should probably remove knockback when you're jumping because that's reaaaaalllllly exploitable. Maybe also have a jump be an automatic block. I dunno.
