Kind of ambivalent on the solo part in Iron Infidel, but the latter half with the choir is fantastic.

GAK
Okay, Olive Scribe is great, I REALLY liked Indigo Archer so I guess I should go buy the Frozen Synapse OST, Violet Mariner is fantastically badass, Fuschia Ruler used to have a way cooler name but it's still FUCKING WITC)(ING )(OUR SO GOOD, Gold Mage reminds me of Mother 3 battle music and that is the BEST, holy dang. Olive Rogue... I did not expect, but damn if it wasn't the BEST THING EVER, Air for Eclectic Bass is super great. Cobalt Thief was surprisingly melancholy, but Superego MORE than made up for it in badass squealing guitars (which Iron Knight had in spades, too). Violet Prince and Fuchsia Witch were fantastic, too- Eridan's military march and Fef's adventurey happytimes.
and then
AND THEN
and motherfucking
THEN
Your Universe. I can't even... I mean, DAMN. It's like, does anyone remember Jack and Black Queen? Perfect followup, incredibly beautiful, and hilarious when taken literally.
and
MOTHERFUCKING THEN
well okay there was Made of Time which yeah arright Hames is boss at musics but there's a DIFFERENT ARADIA SONG that was way too fucking awesome here. I always liked Rachel MacWhirter's Temporal Shenanigans, even in its rough piano solo form, and I figured it was just going to be that. I. Was so wrong. This new version... oh my GOD, the most mindblowing thing, I can't even.
so yeah where the HELL are my eight dollars even
also where the HELL is Universe 2, aaaaaaa
The opening to Iron Infidel reminds me of Build That Wall from Bastion.
The closing portion of that song reminds me of Sally's song.
Not done listening yet, but it's all really impressive so far.

My name is legendaryBuffoon, and y00 are lIkely to be conf00nded by my c0untenance.
I just remembered to look for the album to see if it was up yet. I got up to Teal Hunter after locating and reading through this thread (and I'm slow at typing out posts, so I'm already at the end of Cobalt Corsair). Good stuff so far. I will look at the track art shortly, and I suspect I will be equally pleased.
I was listening to this all the way through including "Side 1"/"Side 2". When I got to "Side 2" I had to go back and double check to make sure I'd heard it right, but I gotta say, props on that pair. It's more or less perfect.
"Your Universe" was not at all what I was expecting. Instead, it was better. Beautiful and terrible and way funnier than it should have been all at the same time.

Wow, the only track I'd heard before is the last one (though in a less produced form, like Rachel was just on keyboard or something? I dunno.) Anyway cool. It adds to the surprise of the album when you don't know what to expect.
Anyway, wow, the quality of these tracks, beautiful! I'll probably have to listen to them again once I've bought the album proper (after my Paypal balance stops being dumb). Tracks that come to mind are the two Gold tracks (especially Gold Mage, kinda Mother feel?), Fushia Ruler, Olive Rogue, Indigo Heir and Your Universe. I really loved all of those. Heck, this is a great album, well done to the winners! Now, onto Universe B, which I guess is 8 kids, guardians, carapaces and miscellanea? Be another great Egbert birthday, what with Medium last year (and Vol 4 the year before, I guess, but I wasn't indoctrinated at that stage).
I don't think Fuchsia Ruler will ever be anything other than Witching Hour for me.
Your chumhandle is uraniumGlass and you can hardly believe how shitty your imagination is.
Listening to Fuchsia Ruler right now. Hell yes. I think Radiation chose too many orchestral songs in a row, I hope the trolls have at least a chiptune-ish theme. No bad tracks until now (I don't like the solo part of Iron Infidel but the last part makes up for it), will edit when finish the album.
Wow, WOW.
This album, it is great. I can't say much more- but I probably will anyways.
So a few tracks in particular I'm just writing about after a first listen:
Some art I didn't like, most of it was really great though.
Can't wait for the second album
For anyone who wasn't aware, I made a program that corrects all the Artist metadata so it isn't just "Homestuck":

What is the language in Iron Infidel? Sounds like some weird mix of african and germanic (and i'd expect latin/hebrew for the sufferer).
At any rate, I like the direction they took with it. More than just religious, specifically a baptist preacher feeling.
The creator said, "its basically my concept for a verbal troll language loosely based on nordic languages like norwegian." That's actually pretty interesting. It must have taken a lot of effort.
I woke up this morning and I was all, you know what, today would be a good day not to lose my shit.
I'm only on Bronze Rebel, but consider it gone. Holy Jegus this is good.
Your name is Sparrowsmith. Of course, it's not really, but you like to pretend that when online due to an inside joke which only you get. It's kind of ironic. Your Avatar was made by аshdenej, it is an awesome sparrow. You just posted something lame, like you always do. You don't mind this, because it was intentional.
Diskbreak:
Who made the pic for Olive Rogue? Because it's awesome.

Credits are on badcamp by the way. Just click on the individual song.
Fuscia Ruler is more badass than the preceding tracks had prepared me for.
Gold Mage reminds me of playing Ape Escape on the playstation.
Karkat's theme was more metal than I anticipated*. Pretty sweet, though.
Olive Rogue is really...noisy. And the track art is wtf. I like it basically, but it sounds like there's a bunch of random noise in the background. The part in the middle where it changed pacing is pretty great, I think. The parts after that don't seem nearly as noisy.
I love Jade Sylph's track art, both conceptually, and in execution. The song itself...I'm not sure if it fits her, but I do like it. It sounds dutiful, but it was missing that shade of optimism she always had.
Teal Seer seems like the theme a masterful strategist/tactician, which it occurs to me Terezi technically is (as a seer of mind), but the military undertones didn't quite fit.
I really like Equius' theme. It seems like it fits him pretty well. It's not all that STRONG, but that whole aspect is a little bit overplayed anyways. A little bit of angst, a bit of determination, it captured that pretty well. Not so sure about the woodwind portion. Not sure what's up with S.O.S. morse code bit, either.
Gamzee's theme coneys the right amount of unpredictable malice with the buzzy parts, chaos being a major part of his character. Oddly enough, the part towards the end did a better job of capturing the non-sobre gamzee, with notes of more obvious cheeriness.
Eridan's theme was a a really nice nautical-type tune. I appreciate the sense of grandeur it gives at certain parts, almost like an allusion to what he could have, or should have been. I like the track art on that one, too.
Your Universe: sweet merciful jegus, my thoughts are melting into a jazz smoothie ...That track art is badass, too.
Superego is pretty nice. I like the baseline. I like the vague hints of Spider's Claw in there too. The sense of frantic internal conflict it gives fits Vriska pretty well.
Maid of Time's track art is pretty nice. Not much to say about the actual track.
Nine lives One Love is a cool ambient track, but it doesn't seem to fit the relevant scenario very well.
I like the track art for Temporal Shenanigans. I love clock sounds. And violins. And pianos. And chiptunes. And rhymes. It fits the character remarkably well in content.
I think that the general consensus is that Your Universe is MVP of this album.
I just noticed that the expatriate didn't get a track. Not a real popular guy, is he?

My name is legendaryBuffoon, and y00 are lIkely to be conf00nded by my c0untenance.
My four favorite songs are all in a row: Bronze Page, Gold Mage, Iron Knight, and Olive Rogue. And anything with vocals? Holy SHIT wow.
I'm buying this album so hard. Every song is excellent so far.
...Although I'm happily surprised that Temporal Shenanigans made it in. I love Rachel Macwhirter.
okay I do absolutely adore the album, but I'm still feeling pretty iffy about so many songs being re-titled and slapped on characters other than the ones they were originally written for. I'm thinking especially about the song written for PM called "Theme of PM with the Ring", which struck me as so perfectly PM, but which is now about... the Disciple? A character we barely know anything about? There are other songs on this album about characters like Davesprite and even Serenity that were re-purposed to be about troll characters. I understand that Hussie wanted to have a coherence to the album, but I feel that this contest, by its nature, sort of defied coherence; people created what they personally wanted to create, without taking a larger scheme into consideration. Of course the end result wasn't going to fit a theme, with that sort of individual creative license.
I think an album that was made up of the winning entries with their original titles and subject matter unaltered would have been fantastic; it would, for me, have reflected what I see as a big part of what sets Homestuck apart from other stories. Homestuck is made up of a huge variety of themes and influences and sorts of characters; it's tangled and bewildering and clever. Because there are so many ways to explore the universe[s] of Homestuck and their wildly diverse inhabitants, everyone who reads along really can find their own unique aspects to love. I believe that the album, if left unaltered, would have reflected this aspect of the comic's nature beautifully.
Instead, songs about a diverse selection of characters have been made-over into songs about only one specific batch of characters. Huh.
Furthermore--inevitably, tbh--many of the songs don't seem to fit the characters they've been reassigned too very well, but my own opinions are definitely amplifying this effect.
No complaints about the songs, though. None whatsoever. They're all gorgeous and adorable and lots of other words, and sweet fancy Moses do we belong to a talented fandom or what!??

if you be brave and stout of heart:
'neath this link lurks my DeviantART.
Really enjoying the album.
Also really enjoying the Frozen Synapse stuff, which I would never have heard, but for the controversy about the missing songs.
Kinda sad Darkleer just ends up with no song, though.
EB: well you see, the explanation is perfectly simple and scientific.
EB: it was because shut up.
EB: shut up is why.
I wonder if Mode 7 will actually thank the guy who stole the tracks because of the increase in sales from Homestuck fans :P

SO
FUCKING
GOOD
And can we all just appreciate how awesome Bronze Page is
PLEASE???
