What you also failed to notice is that this was a suggestion rather specifically pertaining to Forum Adventures proper; there was no mention of requirement elsewhere in the forum. Incon, do you even have extensive experience in how that part of the forum works, beyond your suggestions in Hoofstuck et al? (Your stillborn Twitterquest reposting in the Cradle notwithstanding).

I suggested the admins make a word filter changing +1 Reader to +1 Reindeer but it wasn't a priority

I think it might do more harm than good, even in its intended targets. In Forum Adventures, even a simple "seconded!" post gives the thread an often much-needed bump and helps it from getting buried. In a fast-moving art thread, quoting a picture or story to say "This is really great!" can be a great way to make sure more people see it. Personally, I think the current lack of an upvoting system benefits authors and artists more than the ability to Like posts would. And if you're just worried about your thread being unreadable due to all the contentless posts, then you should really be posting your adventure directly to a mirror or manually stringing the updates together with [ POST ] tags.

I am disturbed by how well you know what I've been doing.

    ARE YOU A SPY?

Yes, I have a decent level of how FAs work from lurking roughly 400 threads in there.

I think that it would possibly be better if, especally with the Forum Adventures, that xth'd posts are not allowed - they just waste a potential post that could had been used constructivly.

I'm personally agreeing with SleepingOrange and Kazerad here. Xth posts should be an individual thread issue, not a cross-subfora issue. If it really bothers an author, they can forbid it!

    Re: Suggestion re: nth'ing posts

I try to make sure that if I feel like seconding a post, I add why it made me do that, like this is the only proper suggestion at the moment, or this one is just hilarious as is and I cannot improve it. The contentless "X'ed" is somewhat pointless, because I think it's like the one-sentence or reaction-image posts in the Comic Discussion thread.

Also, this would be a great idea to do; it's just like Leslie Neilson/Kamina, so maybe after the big forum update?
E: What? That filter's been disabled?

Word filters aren't working right now at all, and haven't been since the forum update got underway.

You know, I hadn't even thought of it this way.

I retract my support for a Like system.

What about a ratings system, like Facepunch?

From left to Right: Agree, Disagree, Funny, Winner, Zing, Informative, Friendly, Useful, Optimistic, Artistic, Late, and Dumb.

People could just rate a post what they think of it. If, for instance, somebody said "Squack like a bird and shit on your desk", people could click "Agree" and agree with it instead of making a new post. This would apply to every rating, aswell, but this does not remove the need to make replys: The ideas ratings convey are very small and are not meant to completely replace posts, obviously.

Also, a list feature to show who-rated-what.

    Opinions?

    Re: Suggestion re: nth'ing posts

We have discussed why we wouldn't use a rating system.
This system would introduce at least ten different ones. v _v

I think this thread has lived out its purpose.
