    Looking for Group.

    This is a great webcomic.

If proof is needed, just take a dander.

    Re: Looking for Group.

I was reading it for quite some time, but then it devolved into a story with repetative forced jokes at the end of every page involving Richard doing something dumb. It's like the comic doesn't know if it wants to be a comedy or a drama so it tries to do both, but the plot makes the jokes terrible and the jokes screw up the flow of the plot.

I'll probably read it again though later- maybe when it's complete.

Yeah I used to read it but it's poor at handling the balance between beautiful/epic/funny/actualstorytelling. And I have issues with the author in so, so many ways.

Not to mention the ridiculous sexism present at all areas. I can honestly say I've enjoyed a few arcs, but on a whole it's a whole lot of spoiled potential for the sake of crowd-pleasing teenaged boys.

Also, the page you just linked is extremely spoiler-y, I'd strongly recommend switching to something else? (And I feel it doesn't really give an accurate representation of the comic's (few) strong points)

edit: also, I'm still waiting for the inevitable BIG REVELATION when Richard finally explains why he's been periodically digging holes throughout the story and saying "Comprehension will blow your mind".

To be honest, I find it treats the seriousness as if it's necessary.

I follow it, but i don't find is as funny anymore. The story is just enough to keep me reading it, but most of the sight gags fall flat and for a while it was down to them doing "what stupid thing is Richard going to do at the end of this strip?" I think the story does better when he is away from the group doing his own things and not being a butt to them.

Has that happened more than once?

The very beginning of LFG always bugged me. The first few pages pretty much makes death temporary, but as the comic becomes more serious, that is suddenly abandoned and no longer makes sense within the universe. Basically, the event that got the party together in the first place is later made impossible by changes to the universe's logic.

Lfg was my first webcomic, and i, for one, do like it, though it is slow going and has some inconsistencies, much like unbridledExuberance mentioned.
I really should see about getting a new signature.

Yes, this. Which is a real pity because Lars makes some beautiful stuff. =[

They just want to lend a hand.

Also, I agree with much of the above. There's a bunch of comics I used to enjoy but now only read out of habit, and LFG is one of them. I don't know if it's me who's changed or the comics, but somehow, for all of them I can easily find a lot of people thinking the same thing.

    Re: Looking for Group.

The comic is pretty disappointing at this point. The plot abjectly refuses to explain itself in any way. HOLY SHIT THINGS ARE HAPPENING. Except I don't know why, or how it connects to what happened before/after, or why I should care. This story needs a narrator BADLY.

It basically started out as "world of warcraft, the webcomic" then just gradually abandoned that idea for some amorphous story about... ? Some elf guy who forms a kingdom because... yeah the "why?" is pretty much never, ever answered or even hinted at for anything that happens. And lately, they seem to be trying to make sight gags plot-relevant. Just... no.

That is correct, though i guess the reason hes all about kingdoms and stuff is because the current kingdom is bad news or something...?

    Re: Looking for Group.

Which is why he went and killed the king, who was apparently some guy he knew from the time travel shenanigans somehow, except that didn't seem to make much of a difference in the end. Or did it? They seemed to be all "Shit, the crown is killing people now. This is mildly inconvenient, lets exorcize it and get back to normal probably"

Nothing seems to be terribly important or dramatic. Maybe because there's always this heavy, drama-laden atmosphere in almost every single panel. The characters go from being slightly amused by the comedy to being mildly upset or mildly angry or mildly sad. I think it might just be that his faces and dialogue never shift out of the neutral expression range.

I'm sort of in the same boat as chimericWilder. It took my webcomic virginity. Then I got to meet Lar and Sohmer at FanExpo last year, and they were pretty boss. I keep reading in the hope that one day, all the plot points that have been left hanging will be answered. I think that's why I keep on with Homestuck too.
