The lizard rolled his pink eyes, groaned in a testy fashion, and deployed a staff. It had a blue dragon head at one end - perfect for causing decorative head injuries. The rest of it was silver, with an equally blue trim. He hoisted it over his shoulder.

Iustia couldn't even finish the sentence before, in the blink of an eye, the light blue dragon was behind her. He twirled the staff, smacking her in the back of the head. She fell forward, flashed white, and vanished.

DIEM: Iustia!
KIPLIN: DR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALLEGED ARADIA: pirate girl i just met the 0ther day 0h n0 i guess

Diem reached for his own sword, but he was too slow. The dragon vanished again, then reappeared right in front of him. The back end of the staff smashed into his face, and soon, he too was gone.

The dragon stood up, turning to RD and Aradia and grinning.

ANILIN: HHEY
ANILIN: WWHAT'D YOU DO TO MY HATE BOYFRIEND
?????????: ...Eh?

The dragon turned towards the forest.

There was a bright white light heading straight for him.

It collided with him, creating a massive, equally white explosion. Anilin ran into view as RD and Aradia braced themselves. She was clutching her wands tightly.

The white smoke cleared, soon.

The dragon was still standing there. He mostly looked slightly irritated.

ANILIN: ...
ANILIN: llet me try that aga-

That was all she got out before she was interrupted with staff to the face.

Your head bursts through the top of your recupercoon in a small panic, out of reflex. You shake your head and grumble a bit, blinking a few times and picking bits of slime out of your hair.

You seem to be in your room in your expansive undersea palace. It is exactly as you left it the previous night.

Levita is look at you nervously, and grinning sheepishly. She is holding a pink towel.

You yawn and sigh. What a weird dream. You were pretty certain sopor slime was supposed to prevent nightmares? Though you guess it wasn't really a nightmare as such. More like an...angrymare, or something. Horrible flashback followed by anger followed by something hitting you in the face with a staff? Sort of hard to categorize.

Still, a smile returns to your face as you realize:

You should probably get ready! It's not for a few hours, of course, but no harm in being prepared! You should probably see if there's two other people available for the FLARP somewhere too, you guess. ...And it occurs to you you should probably find out more about Diem if at all possible, besides his love boner for your...um...dead sister. You may be completely inexperienced and only on the cusp of turning into a teenager (even if wildly ahead of schedule. Though you are a troll. Slightly earlier development in general due to your traditionally horrifying reproductive system and all!), but you are pretty sure from all of those romance novels you've stolen from Kitty's room that you can't just halfass this whole date thing.

You get out of your 'coon and get dressed in your "normal" clothes, hipster glasses, scarf, and all. You're still drying your hair with the pink towel. Levita stands near you, silently.

You walk over to a nearby SHELF, captchaloguing a few of the aforementioned PILFERED ROMANCE NOVELS. One in particular catches your eye, though you can't be bothered to read the excruciatingly long title yet.

It is a story about two YOUNG, INEXPERIENCED HEIRESSES and their WHIRLWIND LOVE/HATE AFFAIRS with a PARTICULARLY INFLUENTIAL MEMBER of a LOWER BLOOD CASTE. It is a touching, riveting, incredibly sordid, erotic, and horrible romantic tale with a tragic ending when the EMPRESS suddenly SLAUGHTERS THEM ALL.

A lot of old Alternian HEIRESS fiction ends that way, for some reason. Forks are usually involved, and bad jokes about cooking metaphors?

Grandmama was kind of a jerk.

Anyway, the book isn't as good as the one about the pirate captain and the Heiress, but they both have the same ending anyway, so.

Though it's too late to get anything hand tailored, though you could probably still get something alchemized in time. You're absolutely certain any blacksmith or tailor in town would be happy to do business with you regardless.

Of course, since this is a blackrom date, and a FLARP besides, you're going to need a bulletproof dress.

You suddenly dart out of the room, and down the hallway, to an...Unused part of the house.

You can tell because the colors shift from "pink" to "slightly more red". ...Also there's barnacles growing on the goddamn wall.

You come to a stop in front of a old door. You take a deep breath. It's been forever since you've gone in there.

Levita has followed you, of course. She's swimming a short distance behind you, wondering what the hell you're doing but of course not at all saying that out loud.

You open the door. Slowly.

You flip on a light switch near the door.

The room is...Well, it's clean, unlike the hallway outside. Doesn't seem to be leaking or anything. The whole place is...Basically the same as she left it.

The walls are...Covered in some kind of soft, fuzzy, red material. You sort of thought that was weird, but you never really questioned her on it. Puppy LOVED working with fancy and interesting materials on everything.

And after she met Diem, she became particularly interested in felt. Red felt.

You thought it was kind of a weird choice, as opposed to velvet or something. But Puppy insisted on her own stuff being red felt. It shows; there was a red felt fedora on a rack near the door (a pair of her red goggles also hang off it). Underneath, red felt boots. A red felt pool table she had bought in those final days of hers still stands. You suspect red felt may have been involved in alchemizing whatever material she used in the floors and walls, but it seems softer and fuzzier than it should be.

Aside from that...There's still quite a few SHARK THEMED MEMORABILIA around, particularly a menacing set of teeth on the walls. Laying on the pool table is a VERY FANCY RED CUESTICK WITH A GOLD WAVE PATTERN. On a DRESSER rests her old COMPUTERIZED TIARA, which probably still has her old conversations with Diem on it, presumably along with other saved material. Next to it is a DIARY. Her KNITTING TOOLS and BAG lay in a corner, untouched for a long time, a HALF-KNIT VERY COMFORTABLE AND WARM-LOOKING RED BLANKET laying nearby. You suspect it was a gift for Diem. The CLOSET DOOR is presently closed, but it's not liked it's locked or anything. There's a PHOTO WITH DIEM IN IT on a wall, along with a MIDNIGHT CREW POSTER, like most of the other things in here acquired and put up after she met Diem.
