The closed door behind her makes Lily a bit nervous, be she dismisses her feelings as a natural part of being at the bottom of the ocean with people she doesn't know. "Let's keep going, guys. We should keep an eye out for the pony, too."

okay quick thing
if I'm railroading, let me know. I'm pretty new at this.
Other than that, I'll just kinda let Hoofy not be found there.
He's a world-famous ninja photographer with a robot buddy named Sparky. She's a provocative paranoid journalist with a flame-thrower. They fight crime!
I finally have internet again! F**K YES!

Evidently.
No, they're regular cassette tapes. Nothing special, unless the contraption needed to listen to them would be considered special.
"Dr. Flowers" finds a shadowy spot to linger in and listens to the tapes.

Much of the tapes have been ruined to the point where it's pretty much just static, but there are a few bits where it's clear for a little while. Well, mostly clear.
From the first tape:
- know how long this will last. We've lost - static - is just gonna go to hell. And nobody's doing anything about it. Then again, it's not like there's anyone to do anything about it. God, that's horrible luck. I guess we were really asking for it, though, building the new Rapture on top of the old. At least it won't become a shithole like - static - think there's anything down there. Might as well check anyway. Not much else to do. The tape ends there.
The second doesn't have much, just a few snippets of sentences. For the latter half, there appears to be a new voice.
- didn't expect to find that - is everyone? It's like they disapp - fucking hell, what happen -
Those are the most interesting ones. The rest seem to be about rebuilding or something similar.
The third, and final, tape, in the second voice. Only the end is clear:
- is fucking it. I'm done here. I'm taking everyone who's left, hotwiring a bathysphere, and going to the surface. Nobody should have to see shit like that. Fuck the Foundation, fuck O5-8, and especially fuck Crow. They want this shit so bad, they can come down here themselves....God. I'm going to have to leave someone behind. I...I don't know if I can do this. I mean...God. A bit of a pause, with a heated debate in the background, too faint to make out. Fuck it. I'm staying behind. Won't have to live with myself then. More unintelligible arguing, then the tape ends.

Evan is relieved that Lily seems to have not heard his little outburst. He's still slightly jittery, and the last thing he needs is questions.
"Why are we looking for either of the homonculi? Something's not right about the short guy, and I don't trust the pony." He decides to take out his radio and starts cranking it.

Evan looks back towards Minami. "Oh, don't get me wrong-it's not that they're Homonculi. That seriously could've come out better. He blushes in embarassment. I've...kinda developed a thing for reading people. Nothing too specific-detecting deception, guessing mental and emotional states, that kind of stuff. Granted, it's not the most accurate thing either, but I've had more hits than misses in my experience. At first, the short dude seemed pretty quiet and I thought he was just tired or something. Then I went up and said hi, and he's all 'bitch get outta my grill' and he seemed all scared and... defensive? The pony, on the other hand-I lost track of him after I walked up to the other guy, but I tried to get something about him on the way down. Nothing. That rarely happens, and seven times out of ten, something's seriously up with that person... serious being relative to the circumstances of course."
"I think it's 'Originist.'"
Lily is getting very uncomfortable with the topic, but she tries not to show it, or think about it in case Evan can read her intentions or something. She doesn't mean harm to anyone though, so she figures she should be safe. "A-hem. Can we stay on-issue? Anyway, Evan. The short guy knows something. Something about Rapture. Or at least how to learn. You guys heard him, right? Shouting about... swabbies or something."

"So the foundation was here. eehehehe...but who are these O5-8 and Crow people?"
"Dr. Flowers" stuffs the third cassette into his bag and continues skulking in the shadows.

Evan doesn't need to use his powers of perception to tell he's freaked Lily out. 'Great, first they think I'm an... originist? Now they think I'm a creeper.' He turns towards Lily, eyes averted and blushing heavily. "Oh God, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to, like, scare you or anything! I'm not actually psychic or anything and I can't read thoughts, it's basically body language, facial-and that's not helping is it? *sigh* Look, I admit that I tried to get a reading on everybody on the way down. I haven't done any further reading on anybody except that short guy since we got here, and I only really focus on someone if I think they're suspicious or a threat. I basically had to learn this a long time ago. I'd honestly rather not talk about it, though..." Evan is thoroughly embarrased. To him, it's so quiet you could hear a cell divide. He hopes that that mouthfull came out right and he hasn't made things worse.

Lily spies a convenient excuse. "It's uh... okay, Evan. But... maybe when we catch up with the homunculi, you should let me do the talking."

"...Yeah, that sounds like a plan." Evan turns away, takes a few deep breaths, and goes back to his radio. He cranks it for a few more seconds until it won't go any further. He then turns to face everybody. "On a different note, I figured I should at least get a starting point for my project while we're at it. I don't know how familiar you guys are with the resettlement theories and the like going around... but you'd think that if there's people down here somewhere, at least a few might have some serious technology, right?" He turns the volume down, turns on the radio and scans through all three bands.
That's not really a roll. That's more just me telling you what you get. Speaking of which.
You get nothing but static on all channels but one. On the last, you hear an unsettlingly low drone.
Oh, and I'll be calling in a backup player unless Neopie has posted by the end of tomorrow.
**Just want to let everyone know that I'm going to be visiting Georgia over this up-coming weekend (Friday-Tuesday). Dont expect me to be online until 4-5 Friday or Tuesday, and i cant guarantee how much i'll be online over the weekend.
