You don't, and put the knife back since you've got enough pointy things for now. Besides, you just said that you couldn't combine them since you didn't have anything to stick to tie the knife to the shield.
It's a kitchen. You've already been though it, and there isn't really anything to loot.
You've been dicking around for too long. Time to head back in and do something productive, like get into an ancient conspiracy or get stabbed or something along those lines.
You head in, and declare the above, although not quite in those exact words. You highly doubt that they're doing something legal, considering they've plotting in an underground lair.
They come to a decision, and turn to you.
"That depends. If you decide to betray us, you've got two things to worry about. The first is his word and the Baron's help."
"And he would believe you over the guy who he hired to stop running off to do something like this?"
"He doesn't know what I'm doing, and I don't think you'd be able to convince him. He just thinks I'm screwing around in town or something like that."
"Before you two get into an argument over who would trust who, there's the second factor. My word. That's what you've got to worry about. If I think you need removing, you won't last long in this city."
"I'm going to need some context for that claim."
"If I tell my Boss to have you killed, you're a dead man in a matter of days unless you remove yourself from this city as fast as you possibly can."
Boss? Now you're getting somewhere.
"And your boss would be...?"
Jack decides to chime in before he can respond.
"See, I knew something like this would happen eventually. If you'd just be normal for once and just call him-"
"It's what he wants me to call him, it's what I've always called him, and it's what everybody else calls him. You're just going to have to get over it."
"I don't have a problem with it, you know that, I just think that in situations like this it'd- You know what, forget it, we're missing the point here. What we're doing isn't legal, although you could say it has a good reason for it not being legal."
"And that would be?"
"We're stealing something before somebody else steals it. That's all you need to know right now."
"This is our last day. With the big meetings going on, everyone's pulled out every available man they have to stop everybody else from murdering each other, which means this is the cleanest shot we'll get. Miryn's had the place under his watch for weeks now, and they're only opening up today. Maybe we'd have another shot tonight, but we don't have tonight, since-"
"You're saying more than he needs to know. Now are you in or are you out?"
Your chumhandle is tracedSparks and you have no idea why you even have a chumhandle, as you have no chums who use Pesterchum.

You're so in - wait
Ask if they have anything small and sharp, like an urchin, that you could glue onto your shield without making it something insane like a KNIFESHIELD.
Demand this urchin in return for your cooperation.
(Avatar thanks to a very sharp windstorm.)
>Sure, whatever. But if I get arrested helping you, your "boss" had better use his influence to get me out.

"I can try, not guarantees. If you get caught doing this, I can't afford to have any links to me. You get caught, you're a hired sword for some small-timers who botched their shot at a big job. You mention us, you're not getting out for a long time. If you're lucky, you get a waiting period while I make sure that you're just some random guy I wanted out of prison for some plausible reason. You're unlucky, you don't get out. Influence doesn't mean magic."
Well, at least he's honest about it.
"You know, normally I'd think you're weird, but I'm not that surprised anymore. I've got some spare blades lying around, but if you want urchins, I know I know a summoner on Figureo Road who'd get you a few cheap, although have you seen those things? They're fucking huge! I remember this one guy who thought it'd be a great idea to use them to carry some crates, five minutes later-"
"I think you're getting off-subject.
"Whatever. So, you're in then?"
"Good. Remember, if I even think you're thinking of going against us, you may find yourself skewered. One job, then you get out, and we never met. You do well, and we meet again, then you're got my favour. You do something unfavourable, you're purged. Got it?"
"I get it, you're intimidating, you can tone it down a bit. So, what's the plan?"
"There's this place down at at Tinms, a storage building for the guys down at the University, who've got this thing that Miryn's had his eye on for a while. He hadn't made a move since he's been planning this out, but he's been scoping the place out for a while now. We're going to take it while he isn't looking, and see what we can do from there."
"Ok, but what is this important thing worth stealing from some crime kingpin guy?"
"We, uh-"
"That's not something you need to know."
"Oh, so you don't actually know. You're going to pull a heist for something that you don't actually know anything about. Excellent."
"We don't know exactly what it is. From what I know, it's small, it's triangular, and it's in a box, in the high-security part of the building, meaning we've got to worry about the Fabrications.
Now, I need to go get ready. I'll fill you in on the rest of the details in a minute. You set me back, so you get to wait."
And with that, they he walks to one of the other doors, leaving you and Jack behind.
"Friendly guy."
"He's more fun when he's not being professional. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get ready as well. Go stare at a wall or something."
He heads over to the wall of weapons, mumbling to himself as he goes over them. It is a this point that you take in the fact that you're now part of a conspiracy. Nice.

You are now Terra again.
You keep looking over your shoulder as you head upstairs, and even among the thickening crowd of Hags and pirates, you have the strong feeling that you're being followed. The sense of conspiracy however you ignore, since it's thousands of miles away, and that you've put it down to your mental state presumably being fragile right now what with all of this shit happening to you.
What will you do?
Your chumhandle is tracedSparks and you have no idea why you even have a chumhandle, as you have no chums who use Pesterchum.

> EXISTENTIAL CRISIS! Feel a crushing sense of loneliness and reflect that, no matter how many people are nearby, no-one can ever truly know you.
> Punch a pirate and steal his grog
(Avatar thanks to a very sharp windstorm.)
>Hallucinate badly.
>(But not very)
You fall into a dark pit of uncertainty and despair, and have a strong urge to dye your hair black. These feeling may be the result of maybe talking to three or four people for about two minutes in the time that you've been in conscious existence. Luckily, you have a solution for these issues.
You punch the nearest grog-holding pirate and steal it from him. He looks indignant for a few seconds, and then produces another bottle. Well, bottoms up, you guess, hopefully things won't go as badly as the last time that you had alcohol.
OH GOD THEY'RE EVERYWHERE
No, wait, there's only a few of them. Never mind, you just ignore them and get on with your drinking.
You have 68% grog left. You are now slightly drunk. What will you do?

>Realise in a stunning moment of clarity that you've been a butterfly this whole time.
>NO, WAIT, SORRY. False alarm.
>Realise in an even more clear moment of clarity that these pirates kidnapped you, then brainwashed you into becoming one of them.
Holy shit.
Wait, nope, not that drunk yet.
You have an even more clear moment of clarity that they barely spoke to you after they kidnapped you. The fact that you're thinking about this shows that you clearly aren't drunk enough yet.
What will you do?

>MOAR BOOZE FOR THE BOOZEWENCH.
>BE THE TERRA OF THE HIGH SEAS!
You take another swig or three, and your internal grammar appears to be going downhill. All according to plan.
You are almost drunk enough to think that's a good idea and a great title. Almost.
You have 31% alcohol left. You are now mostly drunk. What will you do?

You aren't sure how to Dwkon, so you down the rest instead. This simultaneously becomes both a terrible idea and a brilliant plan.
You refrain from doing so since you heard somewhere that most sailors can't swim and you have no idea how valid that point is since you have no idea where you heard it maybe you read it how do you even know tihs you didn't exist like three days ago oh god what are you doing with your life why does everything you touch turn to shit
You are now completely drunk. What will you do?
How do you plan to do that when there is no bar? To do so otherwise would be foolish and out of context.

>Mental Breakdown due to lack of craftsmanship abilities.
>FTFO; pillage, kill hags, rape wenches. The usual.
Of course! It's the only logical thing to do! You get started right away.
Your lack of craftsmanship takes its toll on your mental status.
You are quickly stopped due to the large number of burly pirates in your immediate proximity before you can start anything significant.
You are now being restrained. What will you do
