Re: The Webcomics Thread: More Webs-Per-Comic than Spider-Man

Something is weird. MSPA hasn't gone up nearly as much as I would have expected, and I had thought GKC would be winning by now because of Andrew's kind words. I wonder if they have some kind of system to prevent rapid influxes of votes in some attempt to deflect bot attacks.

edit: maybe someone should post who isn't me or waterbottles

Re: The Webcomics Thread: More Webs-Per-Comic than Spider-Man

GKC needs to be more popular. I didn't hear about it until very recently when a topic poppup up on this forum about it. It've read it once in order and probably like a billion times out of order.
Given the decent number of votes, simply being on the site probably gave it a slight increase in readership though- but I bet a lot of people just vote for their favourite comic without even seeing what the other comic it's against is.

I'm going to have to check out some of these comics. I haven't even heard of half of them. YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY WEBCOMICS.

EDIT: Also, I never really got that into PA. Not really my thing. It's not a bad comic, but I don't find it particularily good. Kind of repetative. Then again, my 3rd favourite comic is Dinosaur Comics, so repetative isn't necessarily bad I guess.

My favourite comics in order would probably be (the order shifts around alot a lot):

Wow, that was a sudden gain of like 300 people in like 20 mintues

EDIT: GKC is now winning by 60 votes.

DOUBLE EDIT: Oh hey, Tom Sidell has done a sketch of Homestuck characters: http://twitpic.com/3zuzju and http://twitpic.com/oeqtv

Not no more! GC is winning!

And yeah I totally agree, penny arcade is a fine comic, but GC is probably my favorite comic with my favorite author and yeah.

    I love them.

PS: I binged through What the Birds Know, I am now hooked and sadly I realize I still don't understand why all this bad stuff is happening to them.
    EDIT: more pages already squeee

    Winsbury is the sufferer.

    It's him.

FAVORITE COMIC LIST: although in hindsight i know i really like more comics but i can't think of them right now

    1. Homestuck/Rice Boy
    2. Gunnerkrigg Court
    3. Nedroid/Problem Sleuth
    4. Cucumber Quest/Vaatu (I have strong suspicions that this will rise higher and higher as the story progresses, however.)
    5. Paranatural
    6. Moe
    7. Lackadaisy/The Meek (Update schedule being the only thing deterring higher status)
    8. Dr. McNinja/Unsounded/Will Save World For Gold
    9. Gunshow/Hark! A Vagrant
    10. Awkward Zombie/octopus pie
    11-1450. ??????
    1451. Byrobot

Dinosaur comics, Order of the Stick, xkcd, Beeserker, and Buttersafe I like a lot, but I wouldn't say I like any more than the comics on this list.

Re: The Webcomics Thread: More Webs-Per-Comic than Spider-Man

Ah, what the hell. I'll do it too.

    1.) Gunnerkrigg Court
    2.) Homestuck
    3.) Paranatural/OotS
4.) Drowtales (better than it sounds I swear to god)
    5.) Lackadaisy
    6.) The Meek
7.) Digger (might be higher if it was still ongoing)
    &c.

Also http://www.diggercomic.com/ should be added to the OP under finished comics. It's about a wombat and a hyena and a statue of Ganesh and a shadowchild, and if you aren't convinced yet there's no hope for you.

Why is byrobot at the bottom? Byrobot is the best (when updatedALWAYS).

I also may have thought you were Solaris for a second, because of the Cucumber Quest avatar.

I didn't realize you weren't Solaris until I read this. What happened to Zant?

Zant has been temporarily replaced because Gunshow, GKC and Cucumber quest have just been so great as of late.

Maybe I'll edit Zant in or something.

I know, I'm glad to see the deeper part of West's personality. He seemed rather meek at first, but now his confidence and decision making skills are staring to stand out.

Re: The Webcomics Thread: More Webs-Per-Comic than Spider-Man

Oh man if GC can beat out PA in that march madness thing, I have no doubts it could beat QC. Then it would be GC vs MSPA in the semifinals, which is a pairing I am totally okay with going either way (definitely voting for GC, personally. No offense, it's just super great.) This assumes MSPA beats girl genius, but that's probably going to happen.

My top 10? hmm I'll have to think.

    1. Gunnerkrigg Court
    2. MSPA
    3. Nedroid
    4. Dr. McNinja

after that it gets pretty hard to choose.

    Gunshow
    Moe
    Lackadaisy
    Hark! a Vagrant
Hannah is not a Boy's Name (even though tess seems to have gone missing from the internet)
    Awkward Zombie

the ordering of those 6 probably changes often, but if I had to order them now, I'd go:

    5: Awkward Zombie
    6. Lackadaisy
    7. Hark!
    8. Moe
    9. Gunshow
    10. HINABN

I also wanted to put Thinkin-Lincoln and Great! on that list, and they probably swap in with HINABN every now and then.

Re: The Webcomics Thread: More Webs-Per-Comic than Spider-Man

Oh man, so going though my bookmarks and ranking them by how much I like them:

    1. MSPA
    2. Dr. McNinja
    3. Gunnerkrigg Court
    4. Moe
    5. Monster Pulse
    6. Gunshow
    7. Three Word Phrase
    8. Spacetrawler
    9. Starslip
    10. Beeserker
    11. Dinosaur Comics
    12. Goblins
    13. Bearmageddon
    14. SMBC

Newcomers I like a lot but am not ready to rank against my current list:
    -Paranatural
    -Helvetica
    -Unsounded
    -Kiwi Blitz
    -Girl Genius

Comics that I consider "bad" but still read for various reasons:
    -Looking for Group
    -Toothpaste for Dinner
    -XKCD
    -Axe Cop
    -The Oatmeal
    -What-Do-You-Do

    ... I read a lot of webcomics.

That reminds me I once was reading someone's post here that they didn't know what mspaint adventures was since he was directed to the forum for his forum adventure needs.

This sounds redundant, but I think we should place http://www.mspaintadventures.com/ on the list.
