A new comic called 'The Property of Hate' http://rgb.thecomicseries.com/comics/1/ just started up not too long ago, and the art for it so far looks quite superb.

Right now I'm just waiting to see what it'll turn into.

Also I enjoy their treatment of magic, where it has rules, methods, and an origin, as opposed to most fantasy comics where its like "lol you already know what magic is its spells and stuff!"

It's a great comic! Recommended by many upstanding individuals.

Especially nice to see a comic with fantasy politics that aren't "evil empire vs noble kingdoms!" There's some very realistic grayscale characterization of the nations involved, and the characters have interestingly different (and contradictory) opinions on them.

I'm mostly just impressed with the amount it has come along over the past few months. Especially in terms of dialogue, in which the author's made-up accents and odd gags littered around are really a shame and a distraction in the first few strips.

And as I have mentioned in the last thread, if you don't like it on other terms, at least read this last chapter, because it really has been gorgeous and intriguing.

So the march madness thing is in round 4 now. as much as it doesn't matter, it's still cool to see how your favorite comics stack up against other people's favorite comics. Also I'd love to see gunnerkrigg court beat penny arcade, and it's really close.

There are actually a lot of comics in the top 16 that I like. Dr mc ninja made it but it looks like it has no chance really. And then there's the LICD vs xkcd bracket, which is to me like a lesser of two evils deal (I only vote if there's a comic I actually like in there)

This is all exactly how I feel.

Aw, come on, xkcd is nowhere near as bad as LICD. ("Megan" aside.)

Also, if GKC beat PA, I would be amazed. And delighted. PA is a good comic, but Sidell deserves the win so much more, especially now that he's going full-time.

Yeah I just don't like either comic (xcdcl vs licid) (at one point I did like licd though and then I realized it was pretty uncomfortably racist and sexist). and the gunnerkrigg vote is actually really close!

I do still get the occasional chuckle from xkcd, so I'd certainly favor it over LICD.

OH JEEZ OH JEEZ CMON GUNNERKRIGG MOVE IT MOVE IT ONLY TWO PERCENT MORE
Had to vote LICD, not that it'd matter- XKCD has the biggest and most undeserved fandom out there, Sohmer never stood a chance. The hardest choice there was McNinja vs OotS... ultimately had to go with the sticks, in hopes that they'll get to go up against XKCD and make people actually think about what they're voting for. By numbers... MSPA is clearly in the lead, with ~400 more votes than XKCD. The Cyanide & Happiness voters are almost certainly accounted for in the XKCD vote, though. I'm hoping there aren't many people who voted for MSPA only out of spite for C&H, which is pretty damn polarizing. Just like I voted LICD because I didn't want XKCD to move ahead (ha ha ha), there might be a significant portion of anti-C&H but pro-XKCD voters- their fandoms are kind of competitive. Girl Genius has a huge percentage lead over Something Positive, but they've only got the ~1500 votes.

    S'GONNA BE CLOSE FOLKS

I find xkcd very hit or miss, but I could never bring myself to vote in favor of the bile-inducing garbage-pile that is LICD.

Meanwhile, in actual webcomics land: What Birds Know's latest update has done what I thought would be impossible. It's made Vandi's day even shittier.

It's a real triumph for the human spirit.

    You jerk.

You just made me go and binge that

And now that I'm already two hours past my bedtime, all my happiness has forever been sucked out of me.

At least it ended on her mom. And not Dores or something. aurghghh..

Seriously I hope everyone goes and reads this now. Took me almost two hours to binge the entire thing very slowly and thoughtfully, and I don't regret it in the slightest.
Also I'm hugely impressed by the consistency in art! There has been improvement, but not in ways most people improve (ie Gunnerkrigg Court: Drastically).

Oh yeah, What Birds Know is pretty great.
And you just know Vandi's gonna have to go back there.

Also, today's Penny Dreadful might just be the best thing ever.

Almost two hours to really let stuff soak in, but I'm sure it can be done in much less time. It's got some creepy going, though. You definitely will not want to stop.

Welp, Andrew gave GKC a plug on his tumblr, so maybe a portion of this unspeakably massive fanbase will help the Court triumph over the Arcade (nothing against PA, I like them, but I like Gunnerkrigg more). At the very least it's more exposure for that excellent, excellent comic.

I hope Gunnerkrigg Court wins! Like Andrew said, 50 million peeps already read PA, and it would be nice for GC to get more attention.
And for the author not to starve.

I wonder if there is a $100 prize.
If so, Tom Siddell also needs to promise to spend it on Olive Garden. It's only right.

Yes, also a $50 prize for the winner of each division. I saw it in a previous page of this contest.

Drill, I'm not even going to ask how you have enough atmospheres of pressure to live without a suit.

Guys, I just realized that MSPA and Gunnerkrigg might go against each other (if everything turns out well).
Ah! See, this is why these things are a bad idea!

But first, there's a 117 vote difference between PA and Gunnerkrigg! Guys, we gotta do something!
