This is more what I meant. That everyone else has a scar simply explains why Kanaya never questioned or took note of Aradia's scar before. We acted like we didn't notice the scar until she pointed it out, this seems to me the only legitimate reason why that would be the case.

The first option doesn't make sense. It doesn't matter how attracted you are to someone, you will notice their basic facial features. To say otherwise would be dishonest, not to mention an abuse of our CHARM powers, and Aradia deserves better than that.

Changing the subject is only marginally better. It's still fundamentally dishonest, with us shying away from being caught in what I assume many of us thought as a white lie. If she doesn't have a good reason why she said what she did, then she lied. Dodging the topic wouldn't change the facts, so doing it dooms Kanaya to greasy player territory.

That's my understanding of the situation, anyway.

Its really not hard to believe that she spent so long noticing the hair infront of the scar that she didnt notice the scar itself or did but mentally marked it off as unimportant.

People tend to notice like four physical traits about a person and focus on those.

Thats why disguises work.

I can say this with pure honesty because basic physical traits like someone growing a goatee and later shaving it can go unnoticed by me for MONTHS.

Kanaya only met Aradia in one day.

This is hardly a stretch of the imagination.

I know you didn't mean for Kanaya to change the subject. But a lot of what we, the voices, do is going to affect her. Dodging questions is dishonest. It's done when people have things they want to hide. If we go that route, then we are assuming Kanaya did something that needs to be hidden. In an adventure like this, that means she did do something like that. If Kanaya has legitimate reasons, then she should state them to erase any doubts Aradia has, and possibly to raise her confidence a little bit.

I suppose it could be possible for some people to miss the scar in the way you suggest, but I have difficulty imagining it. The scar is quite noticeable, although it does not make her any less attractive. Furthermore, someone who has intelligence and social intelligence as high as Kanaya's is probably going to notice these things; especially because she is into fashion, where natural features probably play a role.

Edit: I'm not saying the fashion crisis didn't affect her perception, by the way. It's just the idea that she NEVER noticed the scar that seems bizarre to me.

if you want to be really technical kanaya admits to noticing the scar the first time we talk to aradia (not to her but she mentions it in her own head) so saying anything other than we noticed it is a lie and our karma meter might go down (might stay the same though because it could be considered a good lie)
what im worried about is admitting the lie will make her mad no matter how much we sugar coat it because of her history with liars, so either we confess our lie and be so eloquent and kind that she can't stay mad or distraction

Edit: partly this goes back to my dislike of Kanaya wearing a mask. If she did something bad, then she should be open about it and try to redeem herself. This business of lying to your friends so they don't get mad at you is making me feel gross. Better still is if she didn't do the bad thing like I said.
