The progress is most of the kinks have been worked out but in the process of making it better there's a handful more problems, and also there's generalizing going on so others will be easier, making this one that much harder.

Sometimes you decide to undo things, and fix things or not fix things or change things or not change things, and you have something planned but than you decide not to do it so you're ahead and slowed down at the same time and progress is not a bar.

A better way to look at it is a set of goals that you have planned for the project. These goals can be carried out, or removed entirely or whatever. There's just so much room for change and improvisation.

Therefore, a better visual aid to provide would be a set of objects in a confined space that need to be destroyed/changed/consumed/finished in one way or another. Therefore:
