Autoresponder also referred to Ferris Bueller as the guy who got the nuclear computer to play tic-tac-toe against itself so hard, it blew up.
Might be wise not to take his take on movies all that seriously.
Not sure if this counts, but aside from Vriska (whose plot was built around her downfall), only the trolls who have established sylladexes are currently alive. (Probably just because they were minor characters, but I still think it's worth noting.)![]()
A couple of fanfics I made...
Actually, this isn't true. Karkat and Sollux switched at some point during Hivebent, remember? So we no longer know what Karkat's is, and Sollux is like Vriska.
HAL9000 wasn't trying to kill everyone: he was protecting the mission, and when he comprehended the astronauts as threats to the mission, THAT'S when he started killing everyone.
Seriously, if AR doesn't sing Daisy Bell and say "Good morning, Dave" at least once after this I will be so disappointed.
The letter PM has that is addressed to "Dr. David Brinner" is a half-and-half reference to Doctor Brinner: Ghost Psychiatrist, Hussie's magnum opus (note that the good Doctor's first name is Derek, not David), and David Brin's novel, The Postman.
Credit goes to my dad for this one, since he was the one who pointed it out to me during his Act 1-5 reread. I would never have picked it up otherwise.
ANDREW why are Dave's shoes colored differently on pg. 6231 and pg. 6247?
I wasnt able to see Vriska's face here until now:

The video that Dave showed to Gamzee which made him go crazy, kill everyone, and create Lil Cal was given to Dave by Betty Crocker.
A silly, minor thing: Jack tries on Dad's shoes here, and wears the cake as a hat.
A couple of fanfics I made...
HAL9000 wanted to do his mission without human error. He had a goal and was going towards it, which is the role of the protagonist.
The astronauts try to stop him. They impede the progress of the protagonist, hence, they're antagonists.
It's very clear that the human astronauts were not only antagonists in the story telling sense, but villains of the highest order. Valuing their own lives over science. What is this, 1999? 2000? NO! It's 2001! It's the FUTURE, we should know BETTER.
It was so sad yet so beautiful.
The message of the film: Man is the real murderous artificial intelligence!
I thought the message was to always carry plenty of Betty Crocker© Human-repellent with you.
Something I never picked up on here.
Suddenly the appearances of rappers in the sky mentioned in the OP is explained.TG: the kings of wordtech ascend to godhood and look down on us patriarchally like urban watermarks in the sky
Alternatively,

The robot saved all of the chess people. They are safe! *cries*
So much joy.
