It's more likely that (parts of) Earth speak what we call English because the trolls created the universe.

But that's speculation, there's never been word on that that I remember.

They seem to speak both. Otherwise the typing quirks wouldn't mean anything. Although the official Hussie answer, like always, is because it's funnier that way.

My guess would be that since the one in charge of how all these universes play out is called Lord English, all races that play in universes he is destined to spawn from speak his language, or a variation thereof. Andrew has stated that the trolls actually use our alphabet, and that the inverted deadric is an older, more formal writing style.

Well, they talked to each other in dreambubbles a few times. Though, I suppose dream bubbles might not require a shared language for communication.

I went back and watched [s] End of Act 6 Intermission 1 and noticed that there are many cloud scenes that show future events, including: Dirk facing Crockerdrones, Roxy smashing the pane with a frozen mutant cat and Jake's volcano erupting with pyralsprite flying around it.

I just realized that the Dersite agents always had the same marks when it came to either pre-scratch or post-scratch B universe.

Jack Noir killed/were supposed to kill both Egberts (John and Jane)
Courtyard Droll killed/were supposed to kill both Harleys (Jade and Jake)
Because the Hegemonic Brute got killed both times, the Draconian Dignitary had to pull double duty killing the Striders and the Lalondes. (Though I'm assuming that because HB went to Dirk's place, he was supposed to kill both Dave and Dirk, and therefore, DD was supposed to kill Rose and Roxy (and he nearly did if Dave hadn't chopped the guy's head off first))

I noticed the U being capitalised in coloUrs and mayhem was a reference to the way uranianUmbra types, but because I'm British totally failed to realise that the U being there *at all* was a reference until much later... not exactly a huge revelation, but it did make me feel a bit dumb.
