oh yes you are right. can't forget gamzee. but it's not like removing the swearing from homestuck would take away from anything really. about a year ago I started a "Clean Homestuck" project where I took all the pesterlogs of anything with most swearing or most mentions of sex-related things, and I saved the images of anything with tons of blood/swearing in the image, to eventually try and see how Homestuck would look as a PG rated comic. I got pretty far, up to [S] Dave: Accelerate. I had already planned out just how I was going to edit stuff like Equius's... interests... and anything involving sober Gamzee, but I kinda just stopped

Or an anime adaption, but with tons of unnecessary fan service (with the kids and trolls aged up, of course) in almost every scene to the point where one can't take it seriously anymore. And then that adaption gets badly edited (think 4kids, only worse) once it's dubbed and exported overseas to be more "kid friendly," even though the original anime wasn't intended for kids in the first place. The plot then gets butchered more than it would normaly be due to cutting/painting away aformentioned fan service. I wouldn't know if the edited or the unedited version would be a bigger pain in the ass to watch, though both could lean over towards "so bad, it's good" territory.

So, I've been putting some thought into Homestuck:The Disney Channel Sitcom. I guess the premise would be 4 kids play Sburb and each episode they fight an enemy or solve a problem in the game. Everything in Sburb "world" is horrible CG and the kids can just exit out of the game each time their mission is completed. Taking away a lot of the urgency and making each episode seem much more contrived because we know at the end they're just going to be safe at home ready for a new adventure tomorrow. All of the kids would be played by sub-par awkward teen-almost adult actors with stilted unfunny pop-culture ridden scripts, which only the best comedians could make bearable. The characters would probably be derailed, cut apart, and put into nice fitted stereotypes:

John: Just a dorky kid who acts as main character and comedic relief. He'd be ridden with optimism and have a "not so" secret crush on Rose.

Rose: She'd be sarcastic and smart (quotes all the books the writers read in high school). Also, goth. And that's about it.

Dave: Emphasis on "COOL"kid. He'd be all about skateboarding, katanas, and rapping.(Oh GOSH, all the horrible, horrible rapping that would occur from this actually happening.) Also, gets all the ladies, opposed to John who'd get none of the ladies, because THAT'S FUNNY.

Jade: She'd be super nerdy, energetic, and quirky. SO quirky. She'd also have a crush on Dave, but would be too shy to do anything about it.

I don't know where the trolls would come in semi-antagonists maybe? I REALLY don't know where the B2 kids would fit in.

I guess what would make this adaption perhaps the worst would be each episode would be predictable. We'd already know the outcome, it's been done a million times already. And I guess there'd be hardly any story progression, plot development, or character development since all Disney sitcoms are made to be easily accessible at any episode. It'd just be a bunch of cliches being acted out with unfunny jokes, actors, and characters in CG and no mind-bending intricacies or hilarity that Homestuck is known and loved for.

So basically Code Lyoko here? That's totally the vibe I'm getting (John=Jeremy, Rose=Yumi, Dave=Ulrich, and Jade=Aelita, with slight changes to who crushes on who and whatnot.)

In which case I would be okay with that, I think. Code Lyoko was a pretty good show from what I watched of it, which admittedly wasn't much. But I liked the idea.

Of course, the disney sitcom bad joke thing would probably ruin the awesome aspects.
