I really have grown to liking Jade! I think the reason I like her so much is that I see myself in her a little bit! It's nice to have a character you can relate to in some ways

Jade is by far superior to both of them.

But if you had to pick between Dave and John, I'd say Dave.
He's got a stronger character arc going for him, while John, sadly, spent much of Act 5 Act 2 faffing about, not doing all much for his character.

This is actually a very hard decision for me. I can relate to all of the kids in some major ways and none really annoy me.

It was a close choice between Rose and Dave, but I had to go with Rose in the end.
She's smart, snarky in all the right places and is just generally really cool.
Also she refuses to be fazed by any of the surprising stuff that pops up all over the place. She just sort of rolls with it, which I admire.

dirk, because i see in him a lot of potential. with what we know so far i don't think it's a stretch to assume he detaches himself from emotions and feels a need to help and protect people he cares about, but in a dickish and controlling way. also for some reason i get the impression that he has the worst communication skills. and i am a sucker for all of those things as interesting character traits to cause problems and be worked through. maybe he'll go in a completely different direction though. /shrug

dave is a close second because he's fucking hilarious and also has really interesting problems, like his lack of self-esteem and again emotional detachment.

I don't have a favortie pre-scratch kid; I dig all of them approximately equally. But Roxy is definitely my favortie post-scratch kid.

My favorite kid is John, closely followed by Dave. He is simply ridiculous, and I love it. For the alpha kids it's Jake closely followed by Roxy. Because he's Jade's grandpa. Do I really need to say anything else?

With the pre-Scratch kids, I can't pick a favorite; I love them all. Out of the post-Scratch kids, I really only love Roxy (who seems to be popular ). Dirk is okay, and Jake is cute/quirky, but Jane is kind of "meh" to me. I love how innocent and adorable John is; I adore Rose's dark humor and personality (plus, her intelligence); Dave is hilarious and endearing; Jade is absolutely loveable and adorable. And Roxy is...Roxy. I love her bubbliness, her innumerable typos (and typos trying to fix other typos), and her friendliness.

This is too hard to do, especially between the Beta!kids. I think I'd have to say Jane is my favourite Alpha!kid, especially after her terrible conversation with Jake and her awkward confrontation with Gamzee!

Wow, I have actually had serious trouble deciding, they all are very interesting in different ways. I am very curious to see the Alpha's develop more. I wouldn't of thought I would have such deep feelings about the kids when I started reading Homestuck.

Hard choice, as I like all of the characters. It came down to a choice between Jade and Rose, but I couldn't really pick so I just picked Rose since she came first on the list.

It was a tough choice between John and Dave, but I went with the knight. While I have a sense of humor and love of jokes more like John's, I honestly relate with Dave as a whole much more.
I'm not mentioning the B2 kids though because I really think it's too early to be able to accurately compare them to the B1 kids. They haven't had nearly as much time to develop. If you had asked me whether I preferred John or Dave right after John entered, I definitely would have said John is the best and Dave is pretty lame. Opinions can change kinda quickly.

Female: Rose > Roxy > Jade > Jane

John and Dave.... I guess Dave. I don't know, my favorite character changes on a whim. I usually pick John, because I love all of his conversations, and I like what he brings out in other characters. Dave I can relate to better as person, especially because he went through much more extensive character development. John doesn't change all that much personality wise, he just gets funnier. Which is true of a lot of characters.
