From Tom's twitter:
The Comic Mix vote has turned ugly very fast. I'm not happy with the negative feelings it's generating, about the readers OR the comics. It was bound to happen, and I was never really okay with pitting comics in direct competition with each other in the first place. Also, while I'm thankful for those who voted for me, I realise that my comic has undeservedly made it this far in the running. And that is why Siddell is awesome. With that said, I have requested that, win or lose, my prize be donated to Child's Play on my behalf. I do not feel it is mine to claim.
Not that this has anythng to do with the comic, but it kind of annoys me how Hunt is handling this. Basically every other comic author just stayed away from the whole thing because they knew this would happen and didn't want to get involved. Hunt, on the other hand, gets into a big thing with a troll, then proceeds to put the entire exchange on this comic's blog. SERIOUSLY? If you want to clear your name about a comment that literally nobody is taking seriously anyways, reply in the comments section and leave it at that. The people who read the blog are the fans of the comic who already know what this comic is about! Posting it on his website just unleashes a horde of raging fans into the already insane polls, destroying whatever little sensibility it had left. I really hope that was just him reacting without thinking things through and not some way to get more votes without actually asking for them. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt since, aside from that pointless counterattack rant on his blog, he seems pretty reasonable, so it was probably just an "innocent" mistake, but still... really? Of all the ways you could possibly handle it, that was probably the worst. Let all the craziness stay localized to the polls, don't spread it out onto your website *facepalm*. Sigh... whatever. I don't even care anymore </rant>

This is supposed to be a competition celebratory of the great achievements of webcomic artists and of how they've made a great work of art, not a place to deride one or the other, or their fandoms.

face is probably the most singularly expressive emoticon that I have ever come across. Its usage can be immensely varied and yet it always manages to carry a point across perfectly.
