It's fairly obvious that $100 is more valuable to Tom than it is to Hussie, but this is an irrelevant conclusion to the question of which comic one should vote for.

The logic here is that, given that the prize is more valuable to Tom than it is to Andrew, and the fact that the comic with the most votes wins (well, advances to the next round), therefore one should vote for Gunnerkrigg court regardless of webcomic perference. This, however, is the fallacy of composition since it performs an invalid simplification of the contest into one particular aspect: the prize.

With ten minutes to go, and the website down, there is no chance that MSPA will come back to beat GKC. It was long, fought out, and came to the final seconds, but in the end, it won.
