Anyone can wear cloth no matter their armor proficiency. Shields continue to get bonus deflection from skill.
Light armor
Annyyyyway
I guess i will open the door then, since obviously noone else was going to do anything.
I really should see about getting a new signature.
"Shall we?"
Once the others are ready, i assume we will proceed in the same order as before.

Grigor frowns at Aesop for a couple seconds, then snorts. "Alright, whatever. The others can deal with that gold you pocketed if they want. If I promise not to take it and run or anything would you let me look at that sword, though? I'm curious about the craftsmanship... even though a sword isn't my kind of weapon."
(Medium armor, even though I should really go with heavy. I'll replace the skill with something else in the near future I guess.
Oh, and sorry. I would have posted sooner but I was actually kind of thinking about what Grigor would say next and then I sort of put it off...)
(Simon has light armor, for mobility.)
"After you. Oh, wait! I should probably be towards the front, since I can cast light spells."
My Stuff:
Stuff I Like:
The spiral staircase leads a short way down to a long chamber. 5 small dead humanoid creatures litter the ground. They wear armor and have small, crude weapons nearby. Their teeth are sharp, they have pointy ears, and darkly colored, leathery skin. Green blood pools under each. A pungent, sickly smell rises from the corpses. At the far end of the room is a wooden door, slightly ajar. More light pours out from there and voices can be heard faintly.
I figured since nothing really happens immediately in this room, I'd just go ahead and post it since it's been so long even though we're waiting for a couple of other things to be posted.
Nix eyes the corpses, then asks in a low voice. "Any chance any of you know Wind? I'd dearly like to hear what is being said over there." He indicates the far door.
I really should see about getting a new signature.
Aesop pulls out his wind catalyst and begins to cast a spell to listen in on the voices in the other room.
(i am having computer and internet problems which i hope will be fixed tomorrow so sorry i haven't posted for awhile.)
Aesop turns toward the group and says, " sounds like 3 people, 2 male 1 female, i think one is a minotaur.....sounds like they heard us coming.......I....Donn't know if they are hostile." after saying this Aesop steps to the side and pulls off his pack and puts his tome inside of it then pulls out his water catalyst to hold in his left hand, after putting his pack back on. Aesop is still holding his wind catalyst in his right hand.
(meant to post this part in my last post before casting my spell. SORRY!) Aesop glares at Grigor then after searching his pockets again he says, " well doesn't really matter now since the coins are gone....guess they fell out of a hole in my pocket or something, and i don't care what you do with the sword i don't need it." turning away Aesop follows Nix.
"Alright, lets go."
Nix begings preparing a Moon spell, intended to make the target believe that their limbs are paralyzed, though they are in fact not. If done right, however, it should have virtually the same effect. Or so i figure.
I'll move ahead with the others. Assuming any of the enemies come into sight, i'll release my spell on them.
I really should see about getting a new signature.
Patch Notes (lol):
Humans are getting nerfed. They no longer rank up in skills faster than other races. Buff to counterbalance this forthcoming. The math came out such that even a slight change to how fast a race learned skills caused them to quickly race ahead of the other races. It was a better bonus for the race than I anticipated.
Magic is getting nerfed. While it no longer takes twice as many experience points to level up magic skills, they no longer gain experience simply from attempting to cast. This also means any magic no matter how simple has the possibility of failure even when technically unopposed such as with healing magic. Magic continues to be exceedingly powerful so it should be worth the risk. Also, magic gets a bonus to on-cast rolls based on level. That means more powerful magic is more likely to succeed though it continues to take longer and cost more to cast.
I'm also working on a pre-determined set of skills. This probably won't affect this group immediately so you don't have to reimagine your characters all over again. My problem with player-made skills is that characters might be able to make skills that turn out to be worthless in the long run. While I'm okay with the creativity, often player's attempts to be creative and differentiate their characters from one another would lead to those kinds of unused skills. That coupled with not knowing what skills are going to be used beforehand making it difficult to create prerequisites for feats means I'm having to let this idea go.
Magic is getting a somewhat similar debuff. You may no longer "ignite the fire in someone's heart" to inspire courage through fire magic and that's just a for instance. While it makes sense in the lore that magic like that is possible, it rubs elbows with Moon magic's turf and makes Fire magic a bit too versatile. You may still create whatever magics you want, but it has to fall directly within the purview of that school of magic i.e. Fire magic is destructive.
These changes and others not mentioned are part of the first version of the final rules, which I'm getting a long ways into. After this dungeon I might have everyone re-roll their characters, this time letting you in on stats and the like if you wish. Either way, I'll link the rules when they're more fleshed out.
Guys.
Guys,
Pay attention, already!
I really should see about getting a new signature.
Aesop is ready to go whenever everyone else is.
Right, right, Grigor follows not too far behind whoever leads (Nix I assume). Since he doesn't plan to use his hammer he just sort of stays "at the ready".
(Sorry, been meaning to post this for a couple days!)
Nix slinks to the door and starts to cast his spell. Everyone else files in behind him. The voices are clearer closer to the door.
"Everyone get ready, it could be more goblins," a gruff, male voice says somewhat hushed.
"Marc, we don't know that. They could be here for the same thing as us!" A female voice pleads with the first.
A third voice chimes in, male, but this one quite light: "Exactly! They could be taking the artifact back to the Eldest. We should be ready for anything." The third voice begins to chant.
Nix readies his spell. I'm making a minor adjustment: At no extra cost, you may hold onto the prepared spell for as long as you want only if you continue to chant and don't lose concentration. Otherwise the spell is lost, but the charge is not. That means Nix cannot talk right now and if attacked or otherwise made to lose his concentration he may have to start over again.
If combat hasnt been joined by the time i finish, ill release my spell on the third guy, then call out "Halt! Id dearly like to know the specifics of why you are here, before either of us do something brash."
If combat has been joined, still target the third guy.

Diplomacy not being his strong suit, Grigor still stays back. But if he hears anything that sounds like fighting he'll rush in to attack whoever is closest to Nix (or whoever is closest to whatever party member is at the front if someone else gets ahead of Nix. Basically smack the closest guy to any of the party members if combat is joined.)
Cisic whispers to the others, checking if any of them are alright with him launching a preemptive strike. If there are no objections, he'll wait until they aren't looking, then sneak up and stab one of them (preferably the one chanting), then fall back to the corridor and the others.
"We cannot yet be certain if they are enemies or not."
I really should see about getting a new signature.
"maybe so but i say we attack while we have the element of surprise."
"I suppose, but they already know we're here."
