Fair that. The lack of any mention of sleep made me assume small.
Yea, heading straight in.

We're also assuming that, where necessary, you slept and you had enough rations to make it so you're fed and rested. You all started out early on Woske 28. It is now the afternoon of Woske 34 since you all apparently went on foot (about 6 and a half days to get there). Travel was uneventful.
The Vulpine Nix approaches the camp, making himself known.
When taking actions, you're using your turn, but a turn is like 12 seconds. You'll be waiting more than an hour before the rest arrive so it's probably safe to converse as much as you want until I tell you they get there. Of course, if you want to do anything more complicated such as search or examine I'll still weigh in.
Aight, that makes more sense.
After spotting the camp ahead, Nix grows curious and approaches.
"Salutations. Would you mind if i shared your fire?"

You search pretty thoroughly, but don't find much. There's a lot of shovels and buckets though and the remnants of several old camp sites surrounding the hole. There are some rather soggy notes someone left. They appear to be a journal. You can't read enough to tell what it's about, but more than likely it has something to do with the ruin.
From now on so that no one ever gets player information confused with character information, I'll PM anything your character learns independently and anything you want to keep secret from the other player characters you should PM to me. I wanted this to be a public record of everything everyone did, but I think sometimes, without your meaning to, information received that your character doesn't know could color your actions.
oops, heh--sorry 'bout that.
Well--if they're both aware of being aware of each other,Cisic might as well join up with Aesop and Simon--offer help camping, taking watches, finding paths, &c.

After setting up the camp Grigor relaxed, laid on his bedding and waited for Mizuki to be ready to go in. He didn't pay much mind to Mizuki's scavenging.
As Nix approaches he directs the vulpine towards Mizuki with a jab of his thumb. "We've been waiting a while for others to show up but really I don't care either way. If you've got your own food and bedding it's not like you'd be using anything of mine. Ask him I guess."
Aesop realizes that this person is obviously not one of the people after him and relaxes figuring that one more person traveling with them is a good thing, even though it means less treasure at the least it should make it safer to travel.
Grigor gets up rather quickly, looking agitated. "Either of you hear that noise?" He says, a growl in his voice. "That damn squeaking?" He looks around the campsite and back further away from the ruin, looking annoyed.
Nix cocks his head, obviously listening. "I think perhaps we are in danger."
Then he draws the minor light catalyst at his waist, taking a defensive position with his back against the campfire.
Does it take both hands to cast spells? also, for the record, i'll be wearing the highest of each of the catalysts i can use and two daggers for my belt.

You must hold a catalyst in one hand to cast. There are no stipulations as far as which hand and the other may do as it pleases.
Nix is outside the pit on the northern end. Grigor stands near the center where the camp fire is. Mizuki continues to sit at the fire, possibly lost in thought and not having noticed the sound.
Nix realizes the sound is coming from deeper in the swamp and turns to face south. What he sees are around 25 very large rats, brown or black in color and about 2 feet long, swarming towards the pit, barreling across the dry patches and swiftly paddling across water. Right now they're just around 10 feet from the pit.
Grigor can also tell which way the sound is coming from, but where he is he cannot see the rats.
This is still the first round, a surprise round for Mizuki so he will not take any action. The other two though may take their turns. And since I'm suddenly realizing that it would be really annoying not knowing whether the action you're taking makes any flipping sense, I'm going ahead and revealing the turn order:
Grigor is first followed by Mizuki (no actions until next round), the rats, and Nix. Go ahead and wait until it's your turn instead of just all posting at once. It might some day take longer if someone disappears for a while, but I think it will play better. Plus right now you guys are all sorts of on top of things.
Grigor turns towards the sound as it becomes more distinct. He starts running towards the noise ready to silence it with his paws when it proves hostile, which in his mind it definitely must be.
(Not really sure if I could get away with attacking when I can't actually see the target so I guess this is the most Grigor can do- this round at least.)
Nix will start chanting, trying to create an illusion of a wall of fire around the pit, using Light.
I cant find whereever it said what you could generally do in a turn, but i can move while casting, right? Or will that mess everything up? In the case of the former, i'll move toward the pit, but i'll stay at the edge of it for now

You can move, but running, tumbling, or doing anything greater than just moving at your normal speed might break your concentration. Chanting is a free action and so is moving and neither directly hinders the other so you can do both in the same turn. You may do something with the hand that isn't holding the catalyst, but that also might break your concentration.
Also, it's Grigor's turn again. Mizuki may take a turn this round.
"Agh! Stupid rodents!" Grigor sweeps low with both arms at the rats attacking him, trying to knock them away.
You cannot attack twice per turn unless you become Enraged, which you can only do once every 8 hours. I guess if it helps just imagine you're winding up with one arm and swinging instead of swiping with both.
Grigor slashes one of the rodents, killing it instantly and launching it across the pit.
It's Mizuki's turn now and I think he's offline.
How is the turn order determined, by the way?

I'll remind you of any particularly bad injuries, but they generally won't hinder your actions so forgetting about a couple of scrapes won't be a problem for you. Grigor has a minor bite on his left ankle. It's bleeding, but not badly.
