One Hell of a Town [Storykind Sign-Up/OOC]

There's a city out there that's gone by many names. It's burned to the ground by forgotten creatures, left desolate by civil wars, and completely leveled by apocalyptic battles between deities. Yet years pass, and it rises in the same place without fail.

Time passes further, and smart individuals arrive to capitalize on resources and enterprise in hopes of earning money. Demagogues rise out of the population whenever a leader is needed or a message must be delivered. Tyrants, terrorists, and criminals see it as a hub for whatever their motives may be—self-interest, power, or senseless destruction. Whenever danger presents itself, a hero emerges just in time.

Human activity is high during all hours of the day; the population is dense and always on the rise, as men, women, and children alike eventually learn to accept the area's dangers and intrinsic chaos as part of their daily lives. They occupy the sidewalks tracing endless streets lined by buildings of anachronistic architecture, homes to house them, libraries packed with infinite knowledge, restaurants that serve any kind of food, and skyscrapers where business beats on and tickers scroll.

Upon your arrival you're not entirely sure what avenue you plan to pursue. You feel as though you'll have plenty of time to figure that out, though. It seems like people are always arriving and never departing, and for good reason; everything you could ever ask for is somewhere, on some street.

Provided you can afford it, anyway.

Already, you get the feeling that The City is one hell of a town.

    WHAT'S GOING ON?
I laid a brief post down in the Planning sticky but really I figure, really, that there's nothing to it but to do it. Let's let this be the sign-up thread: should we fail, we fail!

"One Hell of a Town" is a storykind RP that I'm hoping will find the middle ground between “plot-driven” and “anything goes if it's written well”. Character development, and some over-the-top dueling are the projected cornerstones, and story arcs will emerge out of the chaos. We'll be defining locations within the city as the story necessitates them—call it world building, if you will. The City will “develop”; feel free to involve your character in any of its aspects, or create some kind of event or mission for others to partake in. Provided the characters are acceptable, I don't think I'll be imposing a hard player limit at the moment: depending on how many sign up I'd like to see how well things can go with multiple stories potentially occurring.

You'll be roleplaying with others, of course, but collaboration outside posting is optional—if you're planning to use someone else's character for something, make sure you're working with them or have permission to. Feel free to use or create any available/necessary NPCs—the setting's a relatively populated city that tends to have problems with gangs, domestic terrorists, errant giant monsters, what have you. Other than that, the traditional rules of thumb apply:
*Don't "power play". (Suggesting that your character's actions happen successfully without contest, avoiding attacks against all odds, etc)
*Try to stay reasonably active if you're involved in something.
*Avoid abstracting from standard English grammar.
*Have fun, and make it interesting! Don't be afraid to get creative, but be aware of what's going on; "spotlighting" can feasibly become a problem in something this open-ended.

    IRC?
#hellcity on Esper. Thanks to Wojjan I guess. No one is ever going to use this.

    Signup Sheet
*Character Name: Should be self-explanatory. Any identifier or nickname also applies.
*Appearance/Description: What does your character look like? Feel free to get as creative as you'd like, so someone could glean a picture of your character in their head. If you're going to use an actual picture, at least a couple lines of text to go along with it would be nice. No arbitrary limitations on what your character can be race-wise, as long as you can adequately explain it.
*Abilities/Items/Weapons: Pretty much everything you can imagine applies here—anything your character uses for utility, powers they have, or vehicles they use to travel through The City. Try not to get too god-level here; you'll be able to gain access to more of your character's “powers” through missions and character development that might occur. Make sure you're somewhat descriptive. Banned powers: Teleportation (in battle), instantaneous self-healing, intangibility, and control of more than two elements.
*Credits: The completely arbitrary currency used in The City. Each one has an ostensibly undefined value, and is just as worthless/invaluable as the next. Depending on your character's assumed wealth you can start with up to 10,000 of these and earn more through events in-character.
*Text Color: Also self-explanatory. I'd like to have a nice amount of players—there's no set maximum so don't worry about being too close to someone else once more players show up, provided you can be recognized. Do worry about being nice to the eyes of your potential fellow players.
*Biography/History: Who is your character, or what have they accomplished in life? Tell us a bit about them. If they're not human, what are their origins?

    Players

Defined Locations Within/Information Regarding The City: Pretty much any constructed aspect in the RP will be cataloged here—here's some predefined locations and aspects, and it's up to any player creative enough to expand the list to do so through their own actions.

Re: One Hell of a Town [Storykind - Interest Gauge / Sign-Up]

Character Name: Oscar Rodrigo, or Ashur, God of War
    Appearance/Description:
A fairly nondescript man, he has the long, unkempt white hair of someone who has not shaved or brushed their hair in years. A long scar runs down his right eye, rendering him blind in that eye. He wears a trenchcoat and his left arm is always bandaged up to the elbow.
Abilities/Items/Weapons: He is a GOD. Or at least, he believes he is. A parasite living in his arm gives him a variety of powers, none of which he is in control of. When it feels he is in significant danger, it will take control of his body (resulting in a similar state to his nighttime form) and transform it into a biological monstrosity, sprouting thorned tentacles from his body, the majority being centered in his right arm. His senses will be heightened past human capability and his reflexes will be extended. He has no memory of what happens during these phases and he simply wakes up later next to the dead body of whoever or whatever was troubling him.
Credits: Ha! Who needs money when you're a god.
    Text Color: 990000.
Biography/History: Oscar Rodrigo was a normal person. He had a day job, he got into the occasional fight, but he always came out alive. He lost his eye once, but that was it. Then one day, something happened to him. He doesn't know this, but a parasite laid its larvae into his right arm. It's quite an interesting parasite -- it has powers, great powers, which it uses to keep its host alive. And at night, it takes control of his body and goes hunting. It gets him food, water, anything he needs, while he's asleep (it doesn't take care of his hygiene though). He wakes up, with no memory of the night, and he isn't hungry. He isn't thirsty. He hasn't aged since that fateful day. He quit his job. He didn't need it anymore. After a while, he began to believe that he was a fallen god, cast from the heavens to pay for some unknown crime. He began to call himself Ashur after the Sumerian God of War. His hand is red and bloody from the parasite, but he's had the bandage on for so long he has forgotten this. He believes the bandages are simply part of his godly persona. See, he won't ever starve. He won't ever go thirsty. And he will never die. Or so he thinks. Because one day the parasite will mature. It will no longer have need of him. It'll grow and grow until it's eaten his entire body. And he won't know until it reaches his brain, at which point he'll realize the awful truth behind his godly powers. He'll die in a moment of epiphany.

So I'm assuming that this isn't really combat heavy? Or at least, it's avoidable? Oh wait, just finished reading it. Nevermind!

Anyway, one suggestion I've got for this? Remove the credit system. Those kinds of things just don't really work in a free form RP like this.

Re: One Hell of a Town [Storykind - Interest Gauge / Sign-Up]

*Character Name: Silas, or Project 12
    *Appearance/Description:

Underneath the hooded sweatshirt his undisguised form is relatively frail looking, and his actual eye color is a rusty orange.
*Abilities/Items/Weapons: A lot is included in the picture (its from some time ago, so ignore how shitty most of it sounds), but basically he can absorb the matter of living things and re-purpose it within his body. No complex machinery though, just your basic types of weaponry or armor. Projectiles are limited to hurling pointy things or blunt things at people, and he is completely without whatever matter he launched unless he physically goes over and picks it up again. His disguises are complete right down to the others personality, as he gets their memories along with their body. (Its because he essentially ate their brain.) What you see on the right of the picture is him going into an enraged state, where his overall power goes up but his control over his abilities becomes spastic and unreliable. He loses the ability to absorb new material or take on disguises while in this state.
*Credits: 7,000. He's done quite a bit of stealing in his time, helps to never be the same person as the one who just robbed you.
*Text Color: A nice palatable blue, perfect to add more color to. #000033
*Biography/History: Silas was born looking as he always has. He was Project 12, twelfth and certainly not the last in a line of experiments by a crazed scientist looking for the age old ultimate life form. Unlike traditional experiments, Silas wanted nothing more than to fulfill his masters dream. Unfortunately for him, he just wasn't powerful enough to be considered the ultimate life form. That is, until he discovered how to consume others. Cast out by the scientist who couldn't bring himself to just destroy one of his creations, Silas is on the hunt for as much power as he can garner, one feast at a time.

Re: One Hell of a Town [Storykind - Interest Gauge / Sign-Up]

@The_Codfish: I probably will end up doing so by the time signups are over. I had in mind that they'd just be a little something extra, fully aware that they'd pretty much dissolve after a while; I figured around the time I went to bed that I should just go ahead and not have them in the first place.

@Travosh: I am okay with this. Added to players list.

@Flummox: Improbability is cool and all, but perhaps you could elaborate at least a bit on Oscar's potential and capabilities? You've got some time because I'm not sure how many people to expect and I'll probably leave signups open after things get started, so if you're just feeling rushed, don't.

Nice, thanks! Should probably warn you the picture was not drawn BY me, it was just drawn FOR me by a more artistically inclined friend I have. Don't want anybody thinking I'm some sort of artist they can ask. (though I would if I could. XD)

Re: One Hell of a Town [Storykind - Interest Gauge / Sign-Up]

Character Name: Misplacia, God of losing your keys
Appearance/Description: Misplacia is a balding old man. He has a thick bushy beard; it is streaked with some hairs which are not hair at all but copper wires. They twist together and form, at the point of his beard, the shape of a key made from old copper. He wears a worn janitor’s uniform; the dark blue colour is slightly faded from its age. When he walks a bunch of keys jangle at his waist.
Misplacia has delusions of grandeur. Despite the narrowness of his sphere of influence he would have you believe he is all powerful, able to bring society crashing down around him if he so wished, and he will expect to be treated as though this is a thing he could reasonably be expected to do. He is scornful of mortals, preferring to hang around with other gods, but if they treat him respectfully (no actually the correct term is probably worshipfully) then he is unlikely to protest too much.
Abilities/Items/Weapons: Misplacia has the ability to make people lose their keys, or to find lost keys.
Credits: Misplacia does not carry cash. The mere thought.
    Text Color: #364B89
Biography/History: Misplacia is an old god from an ancient civilisation, a long time ago and a long way away. If you were to believe a word he had to say on the subject then you would believe that he singlehandedly overthrew Arkhæus (the ruler of their pantheon), went drinking with Solaris and Lunarian (gods of the sun and the moon) and drunk them both under the table, killed the most fearsome of all the gods; Horgod (the god with no name), could outfight Armohk (their god of war), was cleverer than Spillebeen (the trickster god) and got more action than Kattekwaad (their god of love and lust). But for all his bragging, he does not really talk about what caused him to leave that pantheon forever and begin his travel across worlds. Eventually he arrived at the city.

Re: One Hell of a Town [Storykind - Interest Gauge / Sign-Up]

    Character Name: Barbam Gladio
Appearance/Description: Barbam Gladio stands tall, a giant among men. His well-groomed hair and his magnificent beard are bright red in hue, and he wears an ornate suit of armor, polished to a shine. He is never seen without his sword, the mighty Zesto blade, which is also well-polished, for it is his most prized possession. Aside from his magnificent face, of course!
Barbam Gladio is the greatest swordsman of his homeland, and he will never let you forget it. He constantly seeks to challenge himself in battle against fearsome foes, for he is the mighty Barbam Gladio! This is another fact that he constantly reminds all passerby. He also takes great pride in how handsome he is and how magnificent his armor and sword are.
Barbam will challenge anyone to a fight if he deems them worthy. This generally means "anyone who looks remotely competent". If his opponent turns down his challenge, he will mock them relentlessly for their cowardice. After all, what true warrior would refuse the opportunity to challenge Barbam Gladio, the greatest of swordsmen?
And do not dare to suggest that any beard is finer than his. Barbam Gladio's beard is the greatest anyone has ever seen, a matter of great pride for him.
Abilities/Items/Weapons: Barbam Gladio is a skilled swordsman, and has great strength, for he needs it to lift the massive Zesto blade. He is also excellent at maintaining his appearance and the shine on his armor and blade. None have ever seen him trim his beard and lived to tell the tale.
Credits: Barbam Gladio needs no credits. His very name is currency!
    Text Color: #FF0000
Biography/History: It was clear even from birth that Barbam Gladio was destined for greatness, as he emerged from his mother's womb with a full beard. As a child, he was fascinated by swordplay, and at the age of five, when his parents finally relented to his demands and gave him a wooden sword, he proceeded to slay six dragons that very afternoon. He was knighted shortly after.
After six relatively uneventful years of singlehandedly slaying dragons, demons, witches, ogres, and invading armies, Barbam grew bored of his simple life, and set out on a journey to find the legendary Nameless Sword. Four days later, he returned with it and declared that the sword's name was now Zesto, then announced that he was going to prove his strength and skill to the world. No, to all worlds.
He has been wandering for fifteen years now, growing more skilled by the day, constantly searching for opponents who will test his abilities to their limit.

Brief summary: He is Barbam Gladio, the greatest swordsman in the world! His beard is pretty impressive, too.

Re: One Hell of a Town [Storykind - Interest Gauge / Sign-Up]

Considering who we have so far, I'll go for being the Badass Normal. Well, close to Normal, at least. Also injecting a bit of a MINOR SOCIOPATH into this thing. (Also, you worried at all that the characters may just be "too" different? As in, they can't keep a proper mood? Since I'd be fine with changing mine if it's too "different".)

Also, am I right in thinking that, when you say people live in anachronistic homes, they're basically living in 'modern' homes like ours, but are pretty much considered 'ruins' of some old civilization for them? I'm assuming this is post-apocalyptic, so I kinda made my character based on that concept.

Also, also, if I get in, I think I should mention that I live +8:00 GMT, so timezone may be an issue if this RP is particularly fast-paced.

    *Character Name: Simeon "The Dog"
*Appearance/Description: He's got a dark, weathered skin tone and a thick, but muscled body. Lots of little scars all over his body. Despite this, Simeon keeps himself immaculately clean and tidy at all times. His hair is cut evenly at all sides, giving him a symmetrical look if it weren't for the small marks of wounds on his face. He always seems to be wearing some sort of business attire, even when he's at casual.
    *Abilities/Items/Weapons:
-Simeon is a unique kind of Empath. He can feel emotions, but only by witnessing (or, more often than not, causing) physical harm; to people, to animals, and basically any sentient being capable of experiencing the sensation of pain. As he takes in the feelings of others, he absorbs certain traits of theirs. Superficial wounds, like scrapes and small cuts, let Simeon tap into his target's feelings. Deeper wounds give him recent sensory memories from the last few minutes; basically as if he had been with his target to experience them as well. Fatal wounds, however, permanently gives Simeon the dominant mental trait of his target. The sensation this gives is quite addictive to Simeon, but it requires him to witness the death of more and more complex beings just for him to maintain the same state of levity. Traits are cumulative (they add up), and Simeon's most dominant traits and targets are listed as follows.

-Simeon keeps all of his belongings in a black, nondescript trolley; a bit old, but reliable and durable. A change of clothes, footwear, tools for hygiene; he basically lives on the move. In addition to these innocent possessions, Simeon also keeps his "work" tools locked in a wooden box kept inside the trolley. They're mostly things he picked up on the go or while he was at "work"; useful doodads or items he keeps for "sentiment". He's also got a few self-made tools locked away as well.

*Credits: 8,500 = Simeon can easily earn his keep in an honest job, but due to choosing never to settle down, he only keeps enough to sustain himself and to use for emergencies.
    *Text Color: #8B4513
*Biography/History: Simeon was attacked by a dog once. A pet he had taken in from the wild. When he was young, he lived in a wasteland of sorts. It was hard to plant food, so his tribe (Basically made up of his own family members; a father, a mother, and his siblings. There were a few others unrelated to him, orphans and children abandoned by other groups in the wasteland.) had to rely on hunting to eat. Simeon was too young to hunt, so he was in charge of taking care of the dog who acted as a hunting companion for his elders. Until it got sick with disease and attacked Simeon. He got scratched up and the dog was put down. Simeon was never attached to the dog. But seeing the his die did something to him. It gave him a surge of pleasure he had never felt before. And it made him a bit crazy like his dog.
Even with the lost of their family's hunting dog, Simeon's tribe managed to stay strong. This was due in no small part to Simeon who was superstitiously blamed for the dog's sickness and was made to start his work as a hunter earlier than any of his other siblings. He was excellent at the chase, and each kill he made just seemed to improve his own skills as well as his desire for the hunt. For his accomplishments, he was given the title of "Dog" to signify his status as replacement.
When he grew bored with hunting animals, he ran away from his own home to search for a better prey. He found the cities; the coalitions of people and civilizations. He witnessed violence there, harm being done by men against other men due to anger, greed, for sport, and just for the sake of it. So Simeon learned to be violent, to hunt down his fellow men, and he became the "hunting dog" of the city.

Excuse the Bio; I usually have trouble trying to describe the sequence of events when I write down a character's history.

Re: One Hell of a Town [Storykind - Interest Gauge / Sign-Up]

@The_Codfish: To some extent, but it's mainly me trying to characterize the diversity of the setting; modern architecture stands among artifacts of the past, artistic or otherwise, so it's sort of a post-apocalyptic metropolis if that's not an oxymoron. As far as characters, I'm not terribly worried about people being "too different" as of now, provided everyone finds some way to enjoy what they're playing. For example, I worry about Ixcalibur, not because his character fails to meet some particular threshold, but because I'm not sure how much fun he'll be able to have with his suggested character depending on how the RP pans out. Love the character, by the way--reminds me of Cu Chulainn. Was that a particular inspiration?

@Ixcalibur: ^That said, if this is what you're in the market to play then I suppose it's alright--so let me know. Though I don't want characters with delusions of grandeur to become a theme.

@Dragon Fogel: Honored to have you. Also loving the character--clearly the manliest we've got so far. Adding these guys to the list.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

Ixcalibur can pretty much lock me down by making my character lose his keys. PRETTY MUCH.

Oh, and I wasn't actually thinking of Cu Chulainn when I made my character, though I did read about him. I guess I was being SUBCONSCIOUSLY affected?

Re: One Hell of a Town [Storykind - Interest Gauge / Sign-Up]

    Character Name: Shannon

    Appearance/Description:

Dressed to travel! Of course, she is covered from head to toe with an incredibly long scarf ™, a luggage on a carrier, comfy gloves, and of course, that incredibly nice-looking hat (she’s awfully possessive for that hat for vanity reasons). It’s honestly hard to tell if she is female or not thanks to her clothes. However, her thicket of wearable goods belies her true nature: that of an outsider. Take off all that clothes- she looks…pretty terrifying.

It’s not the permanent-insanity terrifying, dark-secrets terrifying, or any other Lovecraft derivative terrifying. It’s just simply terrifying – the type of terrifying that would make weak men run around in circles waving their arms, stalwart men feel uneasy in their knees, and normal people call SWAT or the local police.

Despite the fact she is pretty much an ohgodwhat terrorbeast. Shannon’s behavior is uncharacteristically, well, non-terrorbeast-like. She likes to be around with people, poking her head into things, and basically having some safe fun in general. Most of all, she enjoys conversations. She loves conversations. She is the type of person who would invite a stranger over and pay for both of their beers, although she has been frequently described as “eccentric” from her conversation partners.

    Abilities/Items/Weapons:

Shannon’s her name, entropy’s her game. Anyone who attacks her would get an unpleasant surprise, their attacks would backfire. Basically, Shannon’s power is reversing a person’s actions like one quickly turns a bag inside-out. Magicians would find their spells blowing up on their faces. Soldiers would find they accidentally shot themselves on the foot. Obviously, very unpleasant.

There are several caveats: it can only work on one person, she has to actively focus on that said person, and it can only reverse; it cannot strengthen said attacks, or spontaneously create new attacks (energy must be conversed after all).

Otherwise, Shannon is astoundingly average in everything else (although she is witty and bright but not enough to turn heads). Her singular luggage can carry tons of things and ideally make a great bludgeon, but Shannon is not so sure if she could actually weaponize her carry-on.

Credits: 5000 goodly arbitrary currency for buying souvenir kitsch and staying at hotels.

    Text color: #80796e

    Biography/History:

Shannon comes from a place where normal physics conventions do not really apply. In her incomprehensible world, she was works in an advertising company (or an equivalent to) and had a comfortable apartment (kind of) to hole up in. Advertising was interesting, but excitement could only go so long. Thus, Shannon was awfully bored with her mundane (well, mundane to her) lifestyle. So one day, she decided to scrape together some money and go out to travel in this endless world.

One day, she saw this town and figured that it was pretty interesting for her tourist-prying eyes and decided to hang out here for a while. Should be pretty interesting no?

Re: One Hell of a Town [Storykind - Interest Gauge / Sign-Up]

    Here we go~

    Character Name: Big Lin

Appearance/Description: Big Lin is a stern-looking woman whose diminutive stature belies her fierce management acumen; her narrow, steel-colored eyes crackle with intelligence and, even more dangerously, ambition. At 4'4" she is of sturdy build, her movements sure and graceful, and her flesh unsettlingly pale and flawless. Lin's hair is arranged in an impossibly complex, tightly-braided bun, somewhat resembling a crown of polished black onyx. She always wears custom-fitted business suits of the highest quality, accented by jewelery featuring her favorite gemstone: jade.

Abilities/Items/Weapons: Lin's only supernatural ability is one inherited from her parents, a trait which has always marked the genetic heirs of her family's dynastic empire: the ability to turn any organic matter she touches into pure, solid jade using blood magic (specifically, she can transmute carbon-based, living material into jade at a cost of 1 pint of blood per .25 square meter of matter transmuted. She must be in direct contact with the target; the speed at which she can transmute scales based upon the surface area of her own flesh touching the target [so the jade spreads much more rapidly if she grabs a person's arm with both hands than if she pokes them in the shoulder with one finger, and the spreading ceases if she loses contact]. Due to her small stature, Lin can only afford to lose about 2 liters of blood before experiencing a class III hemorrhage and risking going into shock; beyond 3 liters, she falls unconscious. Her supernatural heart replenishes blood at a rate of ~1 liter per hour, so she does not require transfusions) Because she was born with this talent Lin was bred from childhood to succeed her father as CEO of Amalgamated Acquisitions Inc., a dominant real-estate company in THE CITY. Her true power lies in her carefully cultivated network of contacts; she knows people in both the very highest and very lowest places, making her most formidable weapon her cell phone. In public, Lin always rolls deep-- the cost of a generic thug in the thug-dominated economy of THE CITY is at an all-time low, so she has no shortage of entry-level flesh puppets eager to advance their careers.

Credits: 10,000. No respectable real-estate mogul would leave home without at least that much. Her other assets are numerous and vast, though at this particular time Lin is experiencing a rare shortage of liquid capital.

    Text Color: Green #008000

Biography/History: Lin's ancestors all possess the ability to change organic matter, such as flesh, into stone; some members of the bloodline are uniquely capable of producing jade, and these individuals are always given preferential treatment within the strictly hierarchical family structure. It is for this reason that Lin's father invested considerable time and resources to mold her into the ruthless, opportunistic, brilliant woman she is today. He recently passed away, leaving Lin to take his place as CEO of Amalgamated Acquisitions Inc., a company which controls significant swaths of real-estate in THE CITY. It is also a not-too-well-kept-secret that AAI bankrolls a sprawling criminal empire which specializes in smuggling black market products-- real extra-dimensional, hard-to-find stuff, like super-human steroids and hell-demon weaponry.

Lin's goal, despite her underhanded and often violent business tactics, is to accumulate enough power, influence and property that she can enact sweeping sociopolitical reform, transforming the chaotic city into a perfectly orderly, efficient, and sustainable society... thus breaking the cycle of endless destruction.

    *Character Name: Todd 'Sween' Perkins

*Appearance/Description: Standing at a fairly average 179 cm (Approximately 5"7). This is of course, not counting the ridiculous mop of dark brown hair he sports, resembling what would happen should you stick a fork in an electric socket. His pale, almost grey-but-not-quite skin is covered in patches of a horrible red rash, which he constantly scratches and picks at. It's most prominent on his shoulders and knees. While the rash and haircut catch people eyes, it's his face that general forces them to avert their eyes. Todd's lips are thin, the skin upon his face stretched thin over his jagged features. But of course, these still aren't his most striking features. While most people will, at worst, get dark bags under their eyes when their tired, Toods are...Different. With a seemingly endless supply of energy, he never sleeps. This leads to what can only be called 'Racoon eyes' ringing his baby blues. The fact his eyes seem to float within dark sockets, and his face closely resembles a skull, it's understandable why people avoid him at night.

He years a faded red t-shirt, the cuffs of which are a now yellowed white. The dark grey jeans, originally clean and crisp, are now stained, with the bottoms of which practically rags. To help hide his eyes, Todd usually addorns a pair of damaged, scratched and burned welding goggles, chosen for the fact they entirely hide his eyes.

*Abilities/Items/Weapons: Using a straight razor has it's pros and cons. The cons of course being it's range, and how fiddly it is to use. The main reason Todd continues to use it is because he's partially 'linked' to it. Should he lose it or leave it somewhere, all he has to do is think it's in his hand and it's there. Since it only works when he's a decent distance from it, it hinders him on the whole 'Ranged' side of things. Another interesting fact revolves around the patchy skin. After months upon moths of scratching at it, the skin in that area has become akin to hard scales. Of course, this is only on his knees and neck, the original points where it arrived. His main mode of transport is his feet, since he prefers to walk or run to where he needs to go. Don't get this confused with parkour, since Todd has no need nore urge to do flips or slide around on his knees all day. At the current time, he carries his iPod touch, loaded with music, His phone and lastly, his wallet and keys.

    *Credits: 389 credits.

    *Text Color: This dark blue.

*Biography/History: From birth, Todd was a strange boy. Unfortunately, his parents never stuck around to see how strange, leaving him at a hostel home (Government run Orphanage, usually used to house children with abusive parents). He took pleasure in simple things, even more so then the other young children. He enjoyed watching things fall, marvelling at the way they'd curve and twist as they dropped. As he got older, he became entranced with more and more simple motions of life, such as the way scissors would cut, hair would grow, or spiders would weave their web. At the age of 11, he seemingly vanished from the home, coincidentally on the brink of him meeting his new foster parents. Unlike most kids, who'd run for a day before being found, he kept walking. And Walking. And walking. Almost never sleeping. Eventually, after several months of wandering, he came upon The City. Just as he was about to continue on his way, something told him to stop. A voice, a calling, an emotion. On the brink of finding what this 'thing' was, he was found by the local security force. During his travels, people had been calling in his sightings, telling the police and others where he was going. Todd was then promptly returned home, and placed in the care of his new foster parents. While he'd left the city and the voice, They'd not left him.

Several years on and Todd, otherwise known as Sween, has returned to the city. With nothing but the credits in his pocket and the clothes on his back, life has been harsh for the 24 year old man. Yet, he's still hunting, still searching for that voice, the child like wonder that he'd had as a child returned in full force as he scours the slums.

    *Character Name:
As "Simply As, and just that."
    *Appearance/Description:
She looks like a normal teenage girl, for the most part. Even if her eye's do look a bit like a cat's. She's about 5"5 and normally wearing sort of ratty clothes, mainly a t-shirt and jeans that look well worn. She cares more about comfort then appearance, but she does have some fancy clothes, somewhere. Her hair is normally up, in a messy bun or a ponytail which she rarely brushes. If she let it down, it'd go down to her shoulders. Her hair is a dusty brown, just like her fur in her wolf form. When she turns into a wolf, she looks like a grew wolf with yellow eyes and a sleek pelt. Her eyes are a bit browner as a human and sometimes she wears a collar so people will just think she's a big dog owned by someone, although in the City it's rare for someone to call animal control.
    *Abilities/Items/Weapons:
She's a werewolf, so she can transform into a wolf. Being a werewolf, her senses are better then most, even as a human. She's very strong, which can be attributed to the fact that she works out often in addition to being a werewolf, and has a tendency to overhear conversations because of her good ears. She can't do partial transformation, but can transform at will. On full moons she tends to be irritable and is generally in wolf form, even more so then most werewolves.
She normally doesn't carry any weapons and either uses her fists or claws, but she does have a hammer at her home. It's slightly heavier then it should be for a normal human to use, but it works fine for her.
    *Credits: 700
    *Text Color: EE82EE
    *Biography/History:
As belongs to a pack in town. She wasn't always a werewolf, she had been an ordinary girl with an actual name at one point trying to survive in the City. But, one day, she had been attacked by a man and got bitten. The pack had found her, apologized and promised all werewolves weren't like that. That was about seven years ago. As the years went by, she has risen up the ranks and have become a valuable member to the pack. The pack doesn't actually do that much, just help others get used to being a werewolf and hang out at the Park. Werewolves in a pack look out for each other, though. No matter what, no one goes hungry or worries about getting hurt. If they aren't strong, they'll be protected by someone who is.
However, the pack isn't very big and no matter how hard they try, there will always be some casualties.
