I've been freaking out for MONTHS about this show and now it's finally premiering on Saturday. Is there anyone else out there as excited as I am, or shall I change the title to adri_laughing_alone_with_aquabats.png?

I really enjoy their music, but this just looks like some more limited animation unfunnyness.

I don't mind if their animation is limited in the pilot and/or first season since they'll probably get a bigger budget if the show proves to be popular, and I'll reserve judgment on the humour until I see more than two 40 second clips, but that's just me.
I'm still quite excited for this

Okay I got to watch it and I LOVED it! The only thing I didn't like was the fake commercial they made, but I have a hate on for fake commercials anyway. I'm really glad they could work in their cartoon selves and I can't wait to see episode two!

Yeah, the fake commercial was a little silly and ham-fisted but everything else was terrific. Then again it IS supposed to be a kids' show, ahahah

Christian Jacobs (aka MC Bat Commander) co-created Yo Gabba Gabba! so it's not surprising to see the retro bright and goofy elements in there.

I know I probably just sound like a deranged magpie, but the bright colours and retro trash (<- not meant as an insult, just a descriptor) feel to it really appeal to me. Of course I just watched an genuinly enjoyed "Mega Monster Battle Ultra Galaxy Lengend: The Movie" so maybe cheesy fight scenes and rubber masks are kind of my thing?
Whatever the reason, this kind of humour really appeals to me. I hope people continue to post them online for those of us without tv

Same here. I really love the sort of cheesy, low-budget Power Rangers-meets-Kaiju Big Battel kind of thing. Did you notice the ants (when they weren't giant puppets) were clay animated??? They really took the time to make this look right, and I love it. Good homage, best show. (Dang it, now I can't shake the idea of Aquabats sentai show out of my head. I may have to draw it now hahaha)

And yeah, I hope people do keep posting them online, as well. I don't have a television, either, let alone The Hub network

Anyway, I tried to get some ABSS discussion started in the Tokusatsu thread, but this works, too! I'll admitt, I'm not the oldest Aquacadet... BUT GOD DAMN DO I LOVE THEM NOW. I just got all of their albums... and I'm highly concidering ordering all of the gear from the Merch section of their site. At LEAST the cowl and goggles. And if they sell those belts. FUCK I WANT THE BELTS.


Also, on the subject of Gloopy... who else thinks Rocco Botte should do all commercials ever?

Okay I never meant to neglect this thread, and haven't been able to watch any new episodes but I just want to say I've had the song "Nerd Alert" stuck in my head for days and really wish I had a 'Super cool Wristband" I could just kind of unveil everytime the chorus was about to kick up.

So, I already posted about this in another thread, but there's a pony-maker on the Hub's website for some contest or something... and they have ALL of the parts to make an Aquabat pony. They have a Pablo cutiemark (that mark on the pony's flank) and even the belt. It's fucking AWESOME.
