The war is almost over as Gele looks down upon his rather large army and smiled, everything was going beautifully, the pawns moved among the forest silently placing traps and mines as they went. 'Their training is paying off rather well' he thought as he walked back inside and waited for his rather aloof secretary to begin her report.

"Good morning sir, I trust you are pleased with the guerillas?", she coolly queried.

"They are not moving as fast as I would like them too, however given that this is only their second week of training they are doing better than expected.", he began, "They should be more than ready by the due date."

"We may even be able to move a head of your timeframe sir."

"NO", he cut her off, "We cannot move any earlier or the other won't be distracted by that imbecile's plan."

"The Arch Sage, sir?"

"Yes obviously if we are to conquer the diamonds kingdom we will need them distracted long enough and his plan is just the kind of distraction we need."

"And what of the Ace?"

"He won't survive Fate's plan, all that awaits him is a death that will be lauded as heroic."

"A-are you certain this is the bet course of action?", she hesitantly asked.

"The diamonds kingdom has only one true ruler since the ace is always ruining the hearts kingdom, and unfortunately miss Brenzi has no real idea to run a kingdom and it is showing both in their army and in their economy. They need rulers who know what they are doing and since I have no intention of letting the spades kingdom get anywhere near the diamonds kingdom we must make the first move.", he explained.

"Very good sir."

"So how is the the recruiting program going Miss Harthome?", he inquired.

"Splendidly", she began, "The machines you gave us are working perfectly, we have yet to have a single soldier that was not fully healed."

" And what is our turnover rate?"

"We are pulling in ninety-five percent of those we heal sir."

"Which gives us around twenty thousand?"

"Thirty-five thousand by the end of the week if the current rate of injured pawns continues its upward climb sir."

"Perfect, is there anything else?"

"Well, yes actually I have a message from Miss Starlight."

He exhaled rather sharply,"Let's hear it then."

"She says that she is well aware of what you are doing and that she wants Brenzi alive. However she will not interfere in your schemes."

"Send her a message agreeing to leave Brenzi alive, I would never kill someone elses kismesis after all."

"Will do sir, there is nothing else to report."

"Very good then, you may leave miss Harthhome.", he waved his hand before seating himself at his desk as he began finalizing a plan to conquer the entirety of the Diamonds Kingdom

I did the best with what I was given and if other people want to be godtier rainbowdrinkers who are exempt from the heroic/traitor's death rule then it's hardly my fault
And please forgive me for making the conclusion of a six-month story arc at all dramatic or high-stakes in retrospect they should have just resolved it diplomatically and gone home with nothing at all happening

Did you seriously not realize that almost everything I posted was sarcastic?

I also sure as hell didn't blame you for anything, I thought your conclusion was very well-written and a very fitting end. I'm not sure why you thought that my sarcastic portrayal of the backstory to your story was an insult to your story; you had no control over it, and did the best job you could with it. Think of it like...hmm. Like a Twilight fanfic on the level of LoTR; despite being incredible, the characters and plot are tempered with a debilitating edge due to the source material (I despise Twilight.)

And dear god that seriously all happened in thread? Sorry. Guess I forgot because of...other things.

Chapter 4: Smoldering Rubble

Ash had finally reached Gorgg's suite, after what seemed like hours standing in that humming elevator. He stepped out, dragging the unconscious businessman with him. The hallway he was in was decorated in a sleek futuristic chrome and marble decor, with the odd gear or spiral motif in certain places. Statues of previous eras crafted by master sculptors adorned the sides of the walls, and the masonic works seemed to eye Ash as he walked past, almost knowingly so. From the ceiling hung metallic chandeliers, which seemed to be inspired by the Classical Era, with the steel snakes entwining each other. The room was senselessly beautiful, the art designed to only please the eye, as the room had no appeal to one's ears, nor one's nose. The smell of bleach was prevalent, and the rug muted Ash's footsteps. It was almost sickeningly sterile. He continued his path toward the doors at the far end of the corridor. He stopped for a moment, as if to reconsider, looking at his watch and tapping the face, but then reached for the handle.

Durill had suffered this man long enough. He had sabotaged his industries all over the world; reports of machinery mysteriously shutting down, or shipments going missing entirely filled his desk with paperwork and legal documents. He had quite literally thrown a monkey wrench into his plans. The company was in a downward spiral, and there was going to be a hell of a time reversing it. Durill lay his head in his hands, massaging his temples. He truly hated this man. He was a master, to say the least. He had gone underneath the radar for surprisingly long, and now... Durill sighed. Now he was in the building. He was coming for the kingpin. It was almost admirable, and Durill regretted that he had made a nemesis of this true artisan of espionage. No matter what he tried, heightened security measures here, or a bigger investment in technology there, it always seemed he was one step ahead of him and beating him to the punch. Now, however, he was ready for Ash. He patted his desk thoughtfully, and then clenched his fist tensely, the blood fleeing from his fingers. "Yes, Mr. Anonymous, we will see who wins the final battle."

Just then, the doors to his office opened. Startled and frightened, Durill reached for his drawer. He saw that it was only one of his security staff, and calmed his nerves. Easy, Gorgg. It's not time yet. He patted his cheek with a handkerchief, and rose to address the officer. "Ah, yes, Sergeant Gordon. What do you have for me?" he inquired, grinning. Gordon walked towards the desk and lifted the body he was dragging to its knees. "Sir, we found him with illegal contraband. A grappling hook." Gorgg's eyes brightened at this. "A grappling hook?" Durill quickly stepped toward the offender. His eyes narrowed again, as he closely inspected the disarrayed man. "Where?" He asked, not bothering with the rest of his sentence. "He was on floor 67, sir. The same floor as Security station 6. We found him creeping around with a sort of device. He threw it out the window of the East side before we could confiscate it however." Gordon pulled away his mask. "Why, sir? Were you expecting him?"
