Bernard Bartlett whined to Cirona Keates at 9:32PM, 4/9
BB: Is it just me, or are they getting easier? We just cleared five bosses.
JM: Well, it's getting a lot easier. Plus, we're learning lots of new moves, getting up in levels, that kinda stuff.
CK: I'm at the cap again, so that's a plus. Also, you're 90. By the way, we dismantled your XP farm.
    BB: Oh right. That thing.
    LS: Is 64 good?
    CK: No.
    LS: Aww.
CK: Give it a bit. A week and you'll be 90, assuming you keep going like this.
    RG: I'm 68. Why am I higher?
CK: Relationships give experience. Though four levels... what, have you been dating four other people?
RG: Xintal's... enigmatic doesn't even begin to describe it.
BB: Is that even a word?

CK: It's easy cause we gotta face all eight of them at once after we face them all individually.
    JM: WHAT.
BB: Please let it be nerfed, please let it be nerfed, please let it be nerfed....
CK: Modified. They gain some, lose some. Also, it's like that 6-hour trash survival we did. We get NPC support. As in, a fuckton of paper soldiers not worth the negative grist they're made of, and a few hero units that'll actually carry us.

    BB: So who's paying?
CK: Hey, put it on the tab. 7th Legion.
    ??: Got it.
BB: Eh. I no longer care. If it means free food, you can be weird as much as you want.
    LS: What?
    JM: Okay?
    RG: Did I miss something?
BB: Proceed with your gradual mind invasion whatever. Just gimme free food and I'll watch.
RG: What did... Never mind. Let's forget all this. Now, there's still about an hour and half till our curfews. Anyone have anything in mind?

Re: 216 Days (Where Did We Go Wrong With Him?)

Alex! I just got reassigned! I have to go to Evanston now. It's official military stuff, so don't tell anyone, 'kay? But yeah, I have to go over there to take down a bad guy. I think you might've heard of him? They told me he's been in Lisphere.
But anyway, yeah, I guess it's kinda better than going to Odessa! :) The cities make me claustrophobic, and honestly? I think I'd rather have to deal with the zombies and the sickly people! Maybe not the kids. Whenever I go, there's always a few orphans that catch the disease, and we have to put them down :( But they never make me do it personally. They'll shoo me out, put on silencers, be considerate, that kinda stuff.

I see the military still keeps what could barely pass as a soul. In any case, how is your family? How fares your brother?

Sam's almost nine now! His birthday is in a month, which I guess doesn't count as almost, but still. My brother's growing up! Dad lets him work on the farm now. Still doesn't let him near the windmills, though. I don't blame him; I wasn't big enough to climb the ladder right back then too! How's Natalie? Did she move out yet? I want pics of your new place, you know! Don't keep a girl wanting! ;)

Interesting. I'm headed there as well. I've taken it upon myself to rid the world of the terrorist. I will likely be in Evanston within the week. Natalie's just moved in. She says the apartment is far different than how it used to be at the orphanage. We share a room, obviously. Which may be rather disconcerting if I will have to disturb her sleep whenever I go off to meditate. In any case, perhaps we will be able to meet up when we get there. When will you be there?

OMG OMG OMG. OMG YOU'RE COMING. Why didn't you say anything?! D: Now I have to buy make-up when I get there! And my hair's still in that weird state right after you get it cut, where you're waiting for it grow out, but while you wait, you're just hiding at home like a follicularly-challenged gremlin! I mean, maybe it'll grow out a little when I get there, but still! Why don't you ever tell me these things, man! Stop keeping everyone else in the dark about everything and all that!

I neglected to take contacts for the journey, and my clothes are rather worn. However, I can safely say I don't care very much for how I look, let alone how anyone else looks. Should I assume standard Avernian build, then? And yes, you can assume the standard Lispheran warlock stereotype; thin, dark-blue hair, cloaked, low voice.

"Whoever's standing behind me, if you are not here to take my order, which will be a reuben with fries on the side, I have no business with you."

"Did you just try to tell me to make you a sandwich?! And here I thought you were the chivalrous sort!"

Rethiel Tarson half-wistfully whined to Lomak Sharpash at 7:41AM, 4/10
RT: I wish I still remembered how to play this.
LS: I wish I knew how to play my flute.
BB: I wish I knew why the hell you two are in my room! Rethy, when I gave you the keys, I was kinda hoping stuff like this wouldn't happen.
BB: For fuck's sake, I'm taking a shower! Lomak!
    LS: Yeah, Bernie?
BB: Go to my dresser, bottom drawer. There should be a 7th Legion shirt and some white cargo pants. Then middle drawer, get underwear.
BB: And do NOT let Rethy...

    RT: Here ya go!
BB: Shit, Lomak. You had ONE JOB.
LS: Where's the dresser.... I don't see one... Oh there it is.
BB: Why my bathroom door doesn't have a lock, I don't even know. I swear, Rethiel, if you barge in, I'm going to throw you out the window. It's a loooooooong drop from six floors up.
    RT: Self-conscious?
BB: Not really, no. A lot of my fat from my school days seems to have burned off from the rigorous nutrition rules here. Also, the constant instancing helps.
BB: Though I still have the scars from March. Whoever healed me didn't know what they were doing, and I really didn't feel like getting it cut over so they can heal over it.
    RT: Can I—
    BB: No.

BB: Alright, to-do list for today; nothing, really. Lena's birthday is tomorrow, and Jason's is on the 13th. I gotta go get checked for that thing with the virus.
    LS: What thing?
RT: Actually, yeah, I gotta go with you too. I'm kinda starting to feel a little... uh... I don't know.
    RT: Everything's more... spacey.
    BB: Do you take sopor?
    RT: Bernie!
    BB: It's okay, I won't tell anyone.
    RT: No. It's bitter.
    LS: Can ah try it?
    BB/RT: NO.

    >Bernard: Wonder where the remote is.

Bernard Bartlett concernedly talked about television to Rethiel Tarson at 8:12AM, 4/10
    BB: They're early today.
RT: Yeeeep. Wait, does that say... Damn, that's a lot of people. Wonder where they got them from.
RM: That's because we got lucky on a sting recently. We caught a fair number of pirates.
BB: Wait, Robert? What're you doing here?
RM: What, no hello? No, 'Hi, how are you? How's the guild? How's my adoptive mother? What brand of sauce did you use on your breakfast sausages today?'"
    BB: Well...
RM: I didn't eat sausages today, by the way. But if I did, I would've used A1.
LS: Isn't that a steak sauce?
    RM: Exactly.

RM: Okaaaay, anyway, what're you doing here?
    BB: I asked first.
RM: I dropped a rather heavy book on my foot, and I'd rather not my coworkers over at base find out. I trust you won't tell them?
    BB: Aren't they your subordinates?
    RM: SO?!
    RT: Someone's a little touchy.
RM: Yes well.... this isn't the first time. So anyway, I answered your question. What're you doing here?
BB: I'm feeling a little weird. Lightheaded, mostly, and it started from that day with the virus outbreak.
RM: So it's not just me!
    BB: You too?
RM: Yeah, I assumed it was just another side-effect of some mundane life-threatening ritual I did, but if you have it too....
RT: I kinda have the same thing. Is that bad?
RM: Possibly. In fact, it may be possible that it's incubating, and that the entirety of Skaia may be wiped out within the year!

    >Bernard: Smack that lunatic conspiracy nut. He's scaring Rethiel.
How is that a good idea? It'd be hilarious, but still. No dice.

    BB: Rob. Shut up.
RM: It could happen! That's the problem with you kids today! You don't believe these things! I'm a light player! The statistically improbable is a guarantee for someone in my line of work!
BB: Ok.... Listen closely. When you go in, make sure to...
    RM: Yeah?
    BB: Tell the doctor....
    RM: Uh huh....
BB: How much sopor you've taken.

    RM: It's ritualistic reagents!
BB: That you have to eat?
    RM: We're very, VERY COMPLICATED.
    LS: Ah can see that.

    >Bernard: Did Lomak just snark?
BB: Son. I'm proud of you. So, so proud.

Re: 216 Days (Where Did We Go Wrong With Him?)

"Lady Serket, you called for me?"

    "I want an update."

"We have tens of thousands on our side. Our forces here are as hardened as they will ever be, and from the last update four days ago, approximately forty-eight thousand are willing to defect to us.
As usual, Skaia, LoCaW, and LoSaC suspect, but they have nothing concrete to go off of. The Dreamers have strangely been playing into our hands. It's as if they wish to aid us, but we have been unable to reach them."

"I understand you brought a few people here. Explain."

"The perpetrators of the attack on Skaia on March 28. By analyzing attack styles, we found one of them. So did others, but we managed to grab him first. He also brought another one, who he says was also participating in the attack."

"And do you believe this was worth the risk of them finding where we are?"

"Yes. If they could hold some of Skaia's most powerful figures in their hands, they can do it again."

    "Understood.

    Adalai."

    "Yes, Lady Serket?"

    "Stop it."

    "Stop what?"

"Cut it out. The whole formality of it all, the... this cold barrier that keeps me separate from everyone else. I want it gone. I want it dead."

    "Permission to speak freely?"

    "Always."

"What happened to you? You always paraded around the ship, checking up on everyone, scaring anyone that slacked off. Now you just stay here the whole time."

"It's this place. The dark emptiness of it all. I have fear on my side. My name is synonymous with terror, anarchy. I could hold the entire world in my hands, to do with it as I wish.
And yet... something's missing. If I go get a drink right now, no one will dare come drink with me. If I were to get hurt, people would come, but only out of fear and obedience.
I have no friends. Nothing resembling a family. What have I done with my life? What will remain once I go?"

"You've done with your life what you've always wished. You fight because it thrilled you, you kill because it pleases you. And you will leave behind a legacy of whatever it is you've done. Has it occurred to you that you've been away from this for too long?"

"Perhaps. It came up once or twice. We'll see, I suppose."

    "Will that be all?"

"Yes. Go. Leave me to my thoughts. Get out."

    >Bernard: Get the lowdown from the doctor.

Bernard Bartlett addressed the doctor at 8:17AM, 4/10
BB: Alright, so what's wrong with me?
TD: Nothing that we know yet.
    BB: Come again?
TD: Anyone that's even visited Skaia seems to have the same sort of symptoms.
TD: Worryingly enough, neither us nor mind players seem to be able to do anything about it.
BB: Wait, so you can't do anything about this?!
TD: Dammit, stop worrying. We haven't made a PSA specifically to not get everyone crazy about this.
TD: As far as we know, it hasn't done anything.
BB: Those zombies fail to agree.
TD: Yeah well, it doesn't matter. We don't know what's going on, so there's nothing we can do about it.
BB: Fine, doc. Thanks, I guess.

    "How are things going?"

"Very good. We'll actually be ready to move out in three days."

"No, no! We absolutely must wait until the proper time. We can only make a difference if we do so at the right opportunities."

"Of course sir. So on the 17th?"

"Yes. We go on the 17th. Great forces will collide on that day, and we are to be the unexpected; an enemy that no one ever saw coming.
No side can be allowed to win utterly; therefore, we shall cripple them all."

    "And then?"

    "All in good time."

"Bernie! Did Jason tell you to follow him?"

"Nope! I'm doing it to be cool!"

"Well, you did it. You've completely brainwashed him."

"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm only twelve. I don't know any of this."

"You're two days away from adulthood. You can't hide behind that excuse anymore! Which means that as an adult, you'll have to do as I say."

"I'm not taking it back. I'm the most gentlemanly guy you'll ever find! Not that I'm bragging about it. I don't show off."

"So Lena! How's your job? Is it awesome?"

"Well, it's hard, for one. There's sooo many angry fish people in the sea. Since Aiolos is off hunting the pirate girl, no one knows who I am."

"Well, you're Lena Travencal! They'll get to know you soon enough. I guarantee it."

"I guess so. Plus, Velias got me the job, and she looks like she knows what she's doing. I just do what she does."

"Waaaaait. Bernie. Do your parents know Jason brought you here?"

    "Umm...."

"Don't answer that, bro! Lena, my client has the full right to not incriminate himself!"

"I don't think that's an actual right in any court on any of the planets."

    "Well it should be!"

"Jason, you want to be a lawyer? I thought you were sticking with your voice acting!"

"NO. Of course I'm going to keep trying at acting. My uncle's a lawyer, and you should see the files he brings home! There's so. Many. Pages. It's unbelievable."

    "Yeah, that's what I thought."

"So, Lena! I got you this!"

"Awww! It's a locket! Just like the one I got you!"

"Bernie may have let things slip for me. He got me one that he—
Well, he was going to give to me, but he gave it to me today. The three of us all have matching lockets."

    "That's so thoughtful! Thanks Bernie!"

"I got you this bracelet! I've been saving up for it since... last year, I think! Well, kinda. It's not like I have anything else I want to buy, so I figure I should spend it on you!"

    "Is that an emerald?"

"To match your eyes, obviously! Though I probably should've gotten shinier ones. They look like dirt compared to you."

Jason Orville chatted with Bernard Bartlett at 1:45PM, 4/11
JO: It's nice to walk in through the front door.
BB: How did you get through this place anyway? It's like a fortress!
JO: I told them I was dropping off something for Lena.
BB: So through the front door?
    JO: Yeah.
    BB: But....
    JO: Yes?
    BB: Never mind.
JO: So she should be right around...

JO: Leeeena! There are a pair of lovely badasses waiting for your attention!

LT: Ohhhh. I love you guys! But I kinda have to go right now! I need to get to a conference in the city.
BB: Aww, but Lena we just—
JO: No problem then. But you'll be free later tonight, right? Dinner?
LT: Of course! I'll see you two later!

VN: Yeah, Bernie? Can you make sure Jason leaves now? Not that I hate... well, no, maybe. I just don't want him to go in my room again.
BB: Yeah bro, what's up with that anyway?
JO: I'm an immensely complicated man.
    BB: With simple motivations.
JO: How is it simple?! I have a myriad of reasons for doing half the crap that I do!
BB: You get around a lot. You love being hammy. You also love us.

JO: So?! And yes. You two are the world to me, obviously. Now, let's go. The trolls over there are giving me the evil eye.

Lena Travencal teased Jason Orville at 8:42PM, 4/11
LT: So that tourney... When's it gonna be ready?
JO: On the 17th, as I said. I always keep my word.
BB: Can you rig it so I win?
JO: Pfft. Like you need help.
LT: Bernie, you're... you're actually level 91. No one of your level stands a chance against you.
JO: Yeah, man. You got this. You got this shit locked down to the wire.

LT: So Cirona's okay with you taking today off?
    BB: Nah. But who cares?
    JO: Fair enough!
    LT: Jason!
LT: Eh, ok. Guess you can take one day off.
BB: Alright, I'm turning in, I guess. You two lovebirds going to be fine?
    LT: Oh, we're not... Well...
JO: We'll be just fine, Bernie.

    JO: So...
    LT: Jason....
    JO: Come on. You know.
    LT: Know what?
    JO: Lena....
LT: You're blushing. I've NEVER seen you blush. Not one single girl.
JO: Well, they're not you, obviously.

JO: There's... there's nothing that needs to be said. I love you, and I'm taking a risk, hoping you feel the same.
    LT: I... um.
JO: So the stoic and eloquent Miss Travencal is at a loss for words? Not so stoic after all.
    LT: Well... I, er...
JO: So it is. What troubles you?
    LT: Nothing!
JO: Is it my past history? Do you think that I can't hold down any sort of romance?
    LT: No, that's not—
JO: Because of you. I should be with you. I can't seem to attach myself to anyone else. Invariably, I always end up comparing my current acquisition with you, and not a one has matched up.
    LT: So... I— yes. Yes.
    JO: Yes?
LT: Yes! I love you too. You're my best friend; I've known you for over twelve years. I've seen you laugh, cry— well, ok, laugh. But—
LT: You're tearing up. Jason! Is the valiant Jason Orville, master of a hundred voices, about to cry?
    JO: Perhaps.
LT: Here, let me get that.

    RT: Whatcha doing?
BB: Nothing. Just... just seeing an inevitability finally happen. Waited soooo long for this.

Bernard Bartlett raged and snarked at Rethiel Tarson at 7:52AM, 4/12
BB: Alright, you guys are getting way too comfortable here. I step out for half an hour and this happens.
BB: When the hell did you guys bring a television in here?!
JM: I don't know why you don't have one already.
LS: What do you do all day anyway, Bernie?
BB: Hang outside, like normal people? We essentially live in a game! Stop playing a game within a game!
JM: We're not. We're playing a minigame within a game within a game. While playing another game with your mind, which itself is within aforementioned game.
BB: And the shower's running! Who's in there?!
LS: Rethy said she'd take one here today.
    BB: WHY?!
    LS: Something about trolls.

    RT: Someone call for me?
    BB: GET OUT!
RT: I'm in the middle of something!
BB: Rethiel, I swear, if you don't come out of there in ten seconds—
JM: Hey Bernie, wanna go out sometime?
    BB: Of course.
RT: Just lemme finish. I brought my own towel. I brought everything else, but with everything you have in here....
BB: What could POSSIBLY compel you to look through everything?
RT: Cause I can. Why do you have hair dye here?
    BB: It was a gift!
    RT: Can I have it?
BB: Uh... Ok, sure. IF you swear to not do this again.
RT: I swear to not take your hair dye again.

BB: Oh I give up. Should I get extra beds in here too?
JM: Double beds. I can't sleep on a single without falling out.
    LS: Same.
BB: ... I hate you all.

"Zak. How do the preparations fare?"

"Ready soon. The Cavalreapers have begun to pull out. They'll be returning in synch with the rest of our forces.
It's really lucky, really. The tournament has conveniently allowed us to transfer sympathetic mercenaries planetside."

"Well, I didn't arbitrarily pick this date specifically. How many total?"

"We're guessing about... 7,500 players will be coming."

"That many for the tournament?! Can the grounds even fit that many?"

"I caught wind that they plan to do more with the tourney. Now that Serket's on the loose again, Ampora has decided that the tournament grounds will also serve as a shipyard.
If there are energetic youth streaming in to make their mark, what better way to convince them to do so than have them willingly go to war?"

"Funny, I never imagined him to be actually militarily competent."

"No, he's not. He just has lots of guns.
Speaking of which, what do we do after this? Once we establish the new government, there's still Serket to deal with. She'll take advantage of our disunity."

"Yes, I was hoping that perhaps she'd strike first and we'd go in after her. However, I've come up with an alternative to that.
The Empress may be sympathetic to our causes."

"Are you drunk again, Leto? Alright, fine, I'll bite."

"She doesn't seem too interested in actual rule. If we can separate her from Rothzel and the others, she may be willing to support us if we let her live."

    "That's a big if."

"Did you forget about our ace in the hole?"

"Oh. That. I ain't so sure about its precision. Could just end up flattening the palace entirely, if it just doesn't rise through it to begin with."

"Risks have been minimized as much as possible. Have a little confidence.
    He who dares, wins."

"I'll leave all the patriotic talking to you. I'll just stick to my guns and shit."

"Remember, 17th, we rise for equality!

FS: Alright, whatever it is you have to say, just... get on with it already!
DA: Well, so your battle butler told us that you're looking to invade Skaia, and you want us to help, since we managed to do it once.
FS: Great. Anything else I don't know, like that the table is brown?
DA: You're very snarky, aren't you?
FS: Shut up. You. You look less annoying. Talk for a while.
FS: Also, why are your eyes pink.
ME: It's a... genetic problem. It also gives me strength beyond belief.
FS: Riiiiiiiight. Anyway, I'm listening, start flapping your gums whenever.
ME: So... we need to get to a place.... on LoSaI.
FS: Stop talking like you have a speech impediment. Forget it. You're annoying, but you talk faster. Get on with it.
DA: He can't help it! But whatever. Anyway, so yeah, we have a place on LoSaI we need to get to.
FS: And what exactly do you have there?
DA: Very, very powerful things. Have you heard what's been going on on LoSaC?
FS: No. Does this have a point?
DA: Two of our friends are on LoSaC. They can unleash hell anytime you wish.
FS: Keep them on their leash. The last thing I want is more forces to deal with. Especially when we'll need to pass by it to get to Skaia when we go back.
DA: So when're we headed back?

FS: Alright, so exactly why am I supposed to trust a pair of boys that don't look like they've even reached their 8th sweep?
ME: Because we can bring you.... the head of Aiolos Virken... on a silver platter.

    FS: Keep talking.

Cirona Keates calmly addressed Restil Garath at 8:41PM, 4/13
CK: And that was how that stuff happened.
CK: So that's it. That's the end of that instance. Playtime's over.
RG: I do hope the others won't be nearly as hard?
CK: No. But still, watch yourself, or it'll be a veeeery short life.
CK: Not that it matters. I doubt your guilds will let you run without a full cadre of 110s to carry you the whole way.
LS: Yeah, Lady Svelko told me she'd personally see to it that ah'd get to max level as soon as possible.

BB: So that's it, then? We're done?
JM: Oh yeah speaking of which. Bernie, date tomorrow?
    BB: Sure!
    CK: Ew.
    BB: What?
CK: Nothing. Anyway, remember, the tournament—
BB: Hosted by the magnificent Jason Orville!
CK: The tournament is in four days. Anyone going?
    RG: Aren't we all?
BB: Time to kick ass and make names for ourselves.
LS: Is this the lethal kind?
CK: It was supposed to be, I think.
BB: Yeah, it was, until the royals decided to back him up. I think Aiolos is one of them?
CK: He's very excited for this. Wants to make a name for the guild.
BB: The 7th Legion's practically the power of the guilds on Skaia! How much more power could you want?!

CK: Obviously you haven't seen the turnover rate for us. Most of us don't make it past a sweep.
CK: Not to mention Aiolos pretty much had to kill all the veterans when he took the guild from his guardian.
LS: How long have you been in it?
CK: About like, half a year, maybe. Even I don't apply for that rule; math says I'll probably die, though any light player will say otherwise. Especially if they know me.
JM: Wait, only half a year? What've you been doing before that?!
CK: Over on Derse, beating the crap out of Horrorterrors.
    LS: And before that?

"Neophyte. Think 'bout it one last time; art thou willing to go through with this? Some say it's strength to turn away, not to take it."

"Yes, High Chaplain. Fieri willing, I'm willing to go through with this. I wish to serve the cult."

"Alright then, I ain't gonna stop you, just checking to see if you're completely sure.
Not that I could, at any rate. In any case, the WildTarotKind will be yours. You'll be forged into one of the finest zealots, spreading Fieri's wrath to all that wish to get their asses handed to them."

"Walk with meh. Tell me 'bout yerself."

"Well... I'm five sweeps old. I live with my guardian. She's a scribe."

    "Any others?"

"I had two brothers, but but one died in the war."

    "May Fieri watch over him."

"The other's a missionary on LoEaH."

"Spreading the word, I see. A rooted family, determination. I actually feel good about this one.
Alright, we're here. If we allowed food here, I'd have brought some popcorn for us.
At least we got chairs. Sit with me; watch the creation of the rest of your life."

    LS: Cirona?
CK: Huh, what? Yeah, I was... I was just another girl on LoCaW.

"Think about it. Think of what the 2nd and 3rd universes have been like.
Because seriously? An omnicidal maniac that ends up destroying their universes? And I'm not even going to go into the massive time loops and such that go into it.
Even worse when you consider that they're the simplest we've seen so far, not to mention the exploits of one John Egbert and one Karkat Vantas still somewhat echo to this day.
When the government manages to solve the fundamental stoner problem by setting aside designated toking times and airing the various happenings of the... I believe the current rotation is 5th universe now, you know that there's no changing it."

    "Ooookay?"

"What I'm trying to get at is that odds are, we are nothing but molecules of the monochromatic game board on which chessmasters beyond our comprehension play a game, where a pawn is killed by a bishop he had already slain, only for said bishop to then be fragged by a knight, resulting in a time paradox that both, if not more, sides will manipulate to their advantage. If said masters are especially devious, the exact scenario I have just described will happen at some point in the future.

Which is why Cassandra must be suffering right now. She must do this without being able to warp through time, which I suspect itself may have been caused by a future version of herself for some reason we know not."

"You're high right now, aren't you?"

"No, I just ramble when I'm bored. Dear gods, this is just agonizing. When did Daniel tell us to break out of here?"

"On the 17th. He's met up with some pirate girl, and he wants us to help her."

"I dearly hope he knows what he's doing. Tactical planning has never been his forte."

    "It's only three more days."

    "Spent doing... what, exactly?"

    "We could always—"

    "No."

"Why?! You can't keep turning me down forever. I have needs, you know!"

"We have potentially millions of people that may end up inhabiting our new universe, and that assumes that we don't just end up going native— which I must say has likely occurred to ALL of us— in which case, you have many, many, MANY more desirable suitors worthy of someone such as yourself. A little patience will yield much later."

"What, you don't think you're worthy?"

"I am neither worthy nor interested in such things. I find self-denial allows the type of deep thought that allows me to think of half the crap that I do."

    "That's... that's kinda horrible, actually."

"It would be, but I got over it."

Bernard Bartlett chatted with Juliana Melinche at 6:42PM, 4/14
BB: And then something about aristocrats. Really, the joke wasn't set—

    JO: So that's Juliana, then?
BB: Uh.... yeah? Bro? What're you....
JO: I'm waiting for Lena to come out of the bathroom, obviously. Considering it's the fourth time, I think she's just doing work in there. I'm thinking about taking her home so she can do it in a place other than this.
    JM: Uh, hi Mr. Orville.
JO: I trust you're not stepping all over Bernie?
    JM: Well...
    BB: HEY.
    JO: It's good practice.
    BB: Bro, what the hell?!
    JO: I'm just saying.

JO: So why yes, Lena and I will be married within the year. No rush, though. We've got plenty of time.
BB: Waited like, eight years for it. I can wait a little longer.

    >Step Two: Anger
So you lied! YOU LIED TO ME. You weren't going to have a year! You didn't even have a week!

And Lena! Why her?! Why would you tell her you loved her if you were just going to off yourself six days later? What the hell, bro?!

"Your time of action draws near, Somnus. The Skaian Dreamers will meet destiny today!"

"Of course. We shall meet it boldly, and without fear!"

"The plans of battle have been drawn, I trust?"

"Yes! The 7th Legion has been diverted due to the tournament today. We have the strength to march upon their base.
Though forgive me for asking, but exactly how will the rest of their guild be delayed from reaching us?"

"I have my ways. You must focus on hunting down the remaining guild members during the assault.
Even if they only claim novice membership, they must be killed. I want this guild completely eliminated, do you hear me?"

"Yes, Lord Dolphilo! We shall not fail you!"

"Make haste; your window of opportunity closes. Soon, you will lose your mobility, and your forces will have to make do with where they are."

"Yes, my lord! We shall not fail you!"

"Humans. They are soooo amusing, are they not?"

"All this seems a bit too... heavy-handed. And I'm not even gonna start on your stupidly ridiculous get-up."

"A necessary evil, if you will! Being the time player basically means the weight of the session rests on my shoulders!"

    "But this far?"

"I was rather lucky here, actually. This is about all that I hath influenced. Everything else that occurs today shall do so of their own accord."

"Kinda sad. I'd still take this over when I came from. Rebellions, genocide, and aliens waiting to kill us all? I'll gladly take it!"

"Then sadly, I must shatter that sentiment that you grimly take solace in, for it gets worse.
Say, the crowning of your human emperor?"

    "No kidding?"

    "No."

pP: Bernie, if you're reading this, I just want to say I'm so proud of you. So proud. Words fail to accurately describe it.

pP: If you're reading this, it also means I've gone ahead and committed suicide.

pP: Your friend Cirona. Did you ever wonder exactly who kidnapped her? Did you also ever wonder about exactly who we were scoping out that 18th of March?

pP: I had a hand in it. I was the one who bought her a spiked drink, and led her out.
pP: Though I lost my stomach for the whole business after that, really. No one told me what would happen to her, and frankly, I didn't really care.
pP: Especially considering what she ended up doing to you. I can't help but feel guilty that I didn't try to see it through the end, as if I could've prevented that from happening.
pP: Just more doubts, I suppose. And I'm sorry for that too.

pP: So why exactly did I commit suicide? Well, I'm not gonna bullshit you.
    pP: Revenge. Revenge against everyone.

pP: Four years ago, the bombing at Verdammak. You lost your parents. Lena lost her cousin, who was Chase's brother. I lost my aunt and uncle.
pP: And we took it. We listened to what those idiot seadwellers told us; we let them sort it out.
pP: And they told us it was the work of human terrorists. We believed them.

pP: But then Tiamat. Holy shit. Tiamat was a mess.
pP: I've never seen such fury. Any of us would get picked off the street to get the shit royally beaten out of us.
pP: And did anyone bat an eye? Yeah. We protested. Then we got silence, mind players, and subjugglators. And if we took matters into our own hands? Imperial Drones and authorized lethal force.
pP: So something had to be done. No one was stepping up; the terrorists certainly didn't seem to care that we were taking the flak for the stuff they were pulling.

dD: Dude. It's time. You can stop sitting on your ass or doing it with Emily or whatever the hell you've been doing for the past few weeks.
jz: Ignoring that. Alright then, so you're sure? I've irrevocably locked Emeline and myself in a military installation. Once I tear out an entrance, we won't be able to get back in.
dD: Wait, did I hear that right. You're going to tear an entrance? What the sodding hell does that mean?
jz: It means I'm going to utilize my trickster blood to punch out a hole through which we can finally get out and start wreaking havoc. I've already tested it.
jz: Also, on an unrelated note, it seems I've still retained control over how I exert my superhuman strength, assuming Emeline didn't lie for my benefit.

    dD: I'm... You know what, I'll let any possible fridge horror come later. Just get out, start wrecking shit. Just be careful;
dD: Those pirates I told you about. They'll be coming down, including their pirate girl leader. Try not to kill them.

jz: It seems I don't possess all the required secondary powers.
    dD: Like?
jz: The skin on my hand is not invulnerable. It has indeed scaled with my strength, but only just so. Also, I need a haircut.

jz: Also, the outer walls are tougher than the inner walls. I should've thought of that, really.

    "Great. Just great. Leto. Plan?"

"We fight. If we can fight them off, we'll have shown our prowess to rule. Especially when they see our ace in action."

    "So how many are there?"

"I would think hundreds. Granted, spread all over the planet, so we'll only have say... a dozen available until more physically walk over here."

"Where exactly did you figure all this out, again?"

"It's always been theorized, but no one's dared to test it out."

"Wait wait wait, please tell me you didn't do all this for it ride on a THEORY."

"No, it will happen. Believe in the hope player. Believe in the hope player's iconic weapon. It will happen.
It seems initiating a Reckoning is not the only purpose of the White King's Scepter.
    And where are your Cavalreapers?"

"They'll be here... Uh, one second, I'm getting a message.

What is it? Slow down, I can't fuckin' hear ya. Wait, WHAT?!"

"What is it? It seems you've lost hope."

"The tournament grounds. Our people there."

    "They've been outed?"

"Worse. Dead. 7000 of our people from LoGaS. Almost all of them are dead."

    "Why? Who did this?"

"I'm thinking Serket. Actually, no, let's say it's Serket. It'd definitely help our cause."

"Excellent! My thinking's rubbing off on you after all. But in reality, we don't know?"

    Re: 216 Days (The Calm)

pP: The plan was simple, if you get down to the basics; gather lots of people in a singular place, then kill them.
pP: When the military, of all people, backed me up, I knew what this could lead to.
pP: And who would suspect me? A likable guy that gets around, who does voice acting and commentates for other tournaments. If that guy wants to host and plan his own tournament, who would bat an eye?
pP: But everyone would come, wouldn't they? Humans would come in droves, and how could I say it was troll only without raising suspicions?
pP: Honestly? It's not like we're exactly innocent either.

pP: I'm essentially a symptom; a symptom of what happens when good and capable people stand by and do nothing.
pP: We should've stopped this earlier, made a stand. But we didn't. Not truly. And now we're paying just as big a price as the trolls.
pP: And meanwhile, the hatred festered, as people like me planned dire things.

pP: Does that absolve me of any responsibility for my actions? I mean, I know damn well what I'm doing.
pP: No, it doesn't. But I can't care; something like this has to happen, and I'd rather it be me than some other hapless person.
pP: I want vengeance. Revenge for all those who've died. Those we love, and those that did nothing to deserve any of this.
pP: Yes, I'm a complete monster. I'm not denying it. I will not claim that I am justified in doing this, because how can I actually rationalize killing sixty-one thousand people?

pP: So it's a gamble. This will do one of two things; this will either perpetuate the very cycle of hatred that I'm trying to stop, or it'll actually stop it.
pP: Maybe I can shock the world, not that I haven't done that before, lol. Maybe this could be the breaking point, and we stop. Stop to grieve and to make up.
pP: Will it last? Probably not. Will it even happen? Almost certain it won't. Like I said, I'm doing this cause the world is my kismesis, really. I love living in this screwed-up world, but I hate it. So. Much.
pP: I'm just making up reasons, really. As long as a tiny part of my already-tiny brain believes I'm right, I can actually go through with this.
pP: I don't know, what do you think? Take it as you will. Am I a guy with good intentions holding out for that sliver of a chance that hope players always seem to be going on about?
pP: Or am I just a vile shadow of what your bro should've been, a guy glued to his past by hatred, unable to move on, to forgive?
pP: You could judge me by what I say, but there's others. You could judge me by the tens of thousands dead. The tens of thousands of children, parents, and lovers that will never see their beloved again.
pP: You could judge it another way; what does it mean if this succeeds? If you want to change the world, all you have to do is get some shaving cream and bomb a bunch of people?

pP: Which is why I'll be in the center of it, standing right on the dead center of the grounds, underneath the main block of shaving cream.
pP: I can't live here after this. I'd change; killing sixty-one thousand people tends to do that to you. If I don't change, that's even worse. How do I not feel any remorse after doing such a thing?

pP: I have Lena on my screen right now. We stayed up till four this morning doing... Well, you're an adult. What do you think we did?
pP: I know she's safe; you and she are the only ones I have left that I care about.
pP: And I can probably see you right now as you read this; I'd bug Lena's room, but not my own?

pP: There's the matter of your friends. But not to worry; Lena told me basically everyone you know.
pP: I went through her UI after she fell asleep, and made sure everyone was distracted. No one you know will die.
pP: Even Cirona. I don't know what you think of her, but Lena told me you two seem to be on okay terms. She won't be there. She's with Velias at the Palace.
