I like how Double deliberately chooses to use the best normals in the game, as stated in her walkthrough video.

That means, when deciding on what attacks to use, she actually thought "well, let's look at the frame data".

I'm getting this first day for PS3, so I suppose for general interest, my username is neonrage0.

    Anyways, Double.
As much as it is a level 5 super, and temporary, fighting against a schmup of all things sounds scary.
    And yet awesome.

I have no intentions of buying or playing this game, yet it's still rather intriguing.

Re: Cheesecake galore - Skullgirls thread

So can anyone list the characters that I don't know about that are seen in Double's Level 3 super?

She turns into like, a square dumbell guy, then in this order?

    -Filia
    -Parasoul
    -Painwheel
    -Cerebella
    -???? (looks mouthy, Venus, maybe?)
    -Peacock
    -Ms. Fortune
-Some Shark bullet-headed boxer (one of Peacock's minions?)
    -Valentine
-???? (Resembles an open, frilly parasol? Umbrella or Bloody Marie, maybe, considering the frills?)
    -Squigly
    -The Tutorial Lady?

    "-???? (looks mouthy, Venus, maybe?)"

I managed to stop it at the right time, and it is Umbrella holding her umbrella. I have no idea about the other, though.

Oh, so that's where Umbrella was in that Super. I was always wondering.
Both the square dumbell guy and the boxing anvil are Peacock's minions though, namely, the ones that help her out in her Level 3.
Can't help you with the frilly parasol though. I would definitely play my chances it's Marie though.

Re: Cheesecake galore - Skullgirls thread

Well, okay then. Considering Umbrella's assist in that attack, I can assume Hungern (her living parasol weapon, like Parasoul's Krieg) will be more..physical.

Krieg cries explosives but looks rather unassuming for a bio-weapon. Hungern has eyeballs and a toothy looking end, so I can only assume Umbrella's playstyle will be more eldritchlike in execution, kind of like a mini Double.
    ugh.

Luckily I happened to browse a different forum with all of the answers to your question

There are 4 characters in Double's level 3 that AREN'T playable in the game yet.

Umbrella, Squiggly, D. Violet (Karate kick at the end, also tutorial lady) and Black Dahlia (that eye thing).

Re: Cheesecake galore - Skullgirls thread

Oh, so the frilly umbrella thing was Black Dahlia?

Also I thought D. Violet was like some purple succubus with whips. I'm assuming then the hot for teacher look is like a cover.

But hey, that kind of means Black Dahlia will have to be playable soon. Which would be great since she'd be Ms. Fortune's foil.
    ugh.

I don't think that Double imitating a character necessarily means that the character is going to be in the game.

Not in immediate release, but it makes it more likely a confirmed DLC possibility.

By the way, I read that Parasoul's gait is lopsided? (one step is longer than the other)

Does she have like, a limp, or something?
    ugh.

I'm not sure. I could really only put that down to her invoked style of fighting, which is supposed to be some form of fencing so I hear; it might just be the perspective on her legs if nothing else.

Edit: I guess I should probably mention my decided team. It's currently edging on a Valentine-Cerebella Duo Panic Attack Squad (Which may or may not be the name I give that very team), but we'll see how that adjusts when it comes out.

    Valentine Walkthrough is up.

She's cool. Not really my style of play but still cool.

Random thought: I really love how every character has a different tag-in mechanic. It's a neat aesthetic and from a gameplay perspective it makes strategies even more character specific.

from what I understand, not yet, but it's a possibility, if the console versions sell enough, or something

And knowing the current attitude to buying this game, as in, people are throwing their money at their screens having been rendered mindless by hype as I have read, it's practically certain going by that logic.
But I wouldn't want to generate false hope.

So anyways, I've literally only just seen a bunch of Squigly concept sketches and other old details about her, shamed as I am that I haven't seen them before.
I am now completely sympathetic with everyone who wanted her in the core cast, before her stated exclusion. I am going to be sold on the DLC, that's for sure.

I'd just like some like, teaser on how she and Umbrella would play, and Double's Nightmare Legion doesn't count.

well I guess it kind of does. From that alone, you can tell that Umbrella will NOT play like Parasoul, and her living weapon, Hungern will be nothing like Krieg. It will not cry explosives, it is fleshy, it has teeth and eyes where there should not be teeth and eyes, and it will eat you.
    ugh.

Have a look at these sketches. These are the ones I looked at, which detail stances of increasing oddity, counter specials, fire breath, laser beams, regaining health, and rigor mortis.
It's rather outdated however, but it is a early look at the kind of tech they were looking into for her.

Umbrella doesn't have any of these kinds of sketches as far as I know, at least, not in this level of description or depth.

...If she's DLC I am maining the sh*t out of her.

If not I will personally and forcibly create DLC of Squigly.

Re: Cheesecake galore - Skullgirls thread

Squigly and Umbrella have been confirmed as the first DLC characters, and rather early ones at that. Not necessarily like, day one DLC, but really early. You won't have to wait very long for her.

Also okay, tell me. is it Squigly, or Squiggly.
    ugh.

As much as I love the concept of any size team, I'm terrible with assists and HP management, so I think I'll stick to playing 1 character at a time. :<

It is just one 'g', but I won't call anyone out on it for the entirety of this thread just because it's an honest mistake.
