but i agree with the alpha kid romance thing
i'm, as stated before, not a big shipper
although i found tavros and vriska would be a funny relationship
what with her being impulsive and tavros just kind of wheeling around cripple-y with her trying to strengthen him to have him fall down some stairs
The very satisfying slam are the slams to revive her, not destroy her.
If fictional murder can be hilarious so can fictional domestic abuse.
I mean, the funny thing is that even after all that, Tavros never did explicitly deny her love. He just was totally shocked that she kissed him. Like he was totally shocked that Gamzee hit on him. Tavros even tried to get up to kiss her twice! With a bit of encouragement from NotRufio in his head, but still. He seemed game for makeouts.
And I think that counts as paying.
Against all hope, I do hope she stays dead.
Not because I hate her, for as I stated, I don't really care about her either way, but because I think the story will gain nothing from her return.
Her arc was finished. She saw her all her plans reach an end, and died just a step from the finish line, overlooking the promised land from Mt.Nevo, but never entering it, if you will.
Bringing her back just doesn't feel right.
maybe she'd go after jack again or something with some help
because she was pretty damn close in betatimeline.
with gamzee doing that dance from alterniabound and jack, intrigued, watching, i'm certain that achievement of the achievement-iest kind could be achieved
It made me really, really happy to have Jade kill Dave directly like she did.
She had no anguish for killing him, just anguish over having to kiss that disgusting loser face of his afterwards.
It was so much fun.
@Dmatrix: Who can we NOT kill right now? Like, who still has something solid to give to the story?
I mean I sorta feel like if you took out just about everybody but maybe Kanaya and the Alphas at this point, there'd be no major lost plotlines. But I might be forgetting a few million.
Yes, /an/ arc of hers was finished.
But it was not the only arc she had, and neither was she exempt from other arcs. (Terezi, for example, is a huge one, as is John's arc)
Explain how you feel her coming back does not feel right. I'm just curious.
and since crowbar's crowbar fucks up properties of majjyk artifacts
i mean is it a coincidence that he happened to be destroying the clock with the crowbar that could remove any majjyk properties
unless the clock isn't the thing that determines just/fair deaths, just records them
but i lean on the 'majjyk clock' is the determine-ise-istic-ism itself thing.

But yeah, Vriska at least had a goal of redemption to work towards, to be a better person and all that. Everyone else is pretty much in it for self preservation.
The ending she got was akin to a Greek, Shakespearean or even Biblical tragedy. It is a worthy ending for any character.
Imagine some wizard bringing Macbeth back to life so he can have revenge against his slayer and reclaim his kingdom. It is a story that can be told, but to tell it will be to cheapen the original. Sometimes to end is better.
way too much has to happen
way too much has to happen

And I don't think it's a very good ending at all, because it had no real impact in it and there were plenty of other plot arcs to go through.
You say that bringing her back would cheapen her original story. But does the death itself not cheapen the rest of her story previous? I do not think it built up to it very well at all, and it added nothing to the story, not emotional value nor plot value, while taking out a number of interesting emotional and plot threads.
Honestly anything that "cheapens" that death is a good thing to me.
I suppose we will have to agree to disagree then Colwag. Rest assured, I'm sure Hussie can write a perfectly decent story about her return, but I think it will be inferior to the one that can be told if she does not, for as many story lines that this sadly inevitable return will create, it will also close, and I for once am more interested in those.
