Kanaya's feet. Ever since she became a rainbow drinker every part of her skin has been glowing white, except for her feet. I guess Andrew forgot to do that when editing her sprite and it just stayed on whenever he copy pasted it. I could deal with that. He's a busy man, he doesn't have to bother with little oversights like that. But then this page was posted where her feet are clearly glowing. Then, just pages later her feet are grey again. Don't torture me by giving her feet the correct luminosity for a single page before going back to the old way, man.
There is a marvelous thing called a "shadow", just so you know. It seems like Kanaya's skirt covers part of her feets, thus casting a shadow on them because of the very obvious glowing white skin. Or Andrew is simply lazy and doesn't always recolor Kanaya's sprite correctly. That's also a possibility.

Definitely glowing feet
Thinking back, the thing I dislike most about Homestuck is the removal of the suggestion box. Something about knowing every command was suggested by some person made it feel more like a communication between AH and his fans. It probably wouldn't work anymore, and I'm definitely nostalgiaing, but I miss seeing Hussie riff off of other people's suggestions, using it to create results we never would have expected. It reminds me of all the best things about player driven narrative in things like D&D... Granted, its loss was necessary. As EW so eloquently explained, while Homestuck is plot-driven and Hivebent is character-driven, both are full of very unique characters. If the general public is the one suggesting actions, it's much harder to develop a "style" for one troll that's different from the other. Once the characters were no longer slightly differing avatars for us, it made perfect sense to remove the suggestion box. But something was definitely lost, I think. What used to be the world's most epic homebrew game of D&D became just another webcomic, in my eyes. Hussie no longer felt like he was "sitting at the table" with the rest of us, so to speak. It's a testament to his creative writing and unique art style that I enjoy Homestuck as much as I do.

colwag.
Your terrible fanfiction.
iT'S, UH, COMING TRUEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
I have this friend who I got to read homestuck
He loved it untill act 5.1, then he started reading only about 50 pages a month (he is now just after Jade: Enter), saying it was terrible and that Hussie had no idea what he is doing.
I kept telling him that I KNOW that act 5.1 is a huge text dump, and I KNOW that the start of act 5.2 is just troll/human shipping bait, but everything has a reason and it's all foreshadowing and shit.
Now there is Tavrisprite, and I realize he is right.
Act 5 started to show hints of this new trend, but the story was still coherent enough that you could follow, but act 6 is just frustratingly confusing and silly, and not the good confusing and silly of the first four acts.
If Hussie will pull the "I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT WITH MY COMIC" card now and there won't be a proper explanation in at least a month, I seriously think I will rage quit Homestuck.
Proper explanation? The explanation is that Homestuck is intended to be entertaining, and a lot of people agree that this is hella entertaining.
I have a feeling most people find Homestuck entertaining when it's consistent.
That's why I liked it, the plot was super complex with tons of characters, but Hussie still managed to make it all work with randomly ignoring rules that go against a last minute idea.
It's like if you have two movies you like, A and B. They are completely different but you like both.
If you were watching movie A, and at some point all the actors started saying the lines from movie B while still in movie A, you might still like the script because you like both movies, but it will just feel wrong.
Yeah there's nothing logistically wrong with this turn of events.
It's everything else.
lmfao if you think act 6 is "confusing and silly". idk what webcomic youre reading. its the most thoroughly planned-out part of the story you dolt!!!
there are no "last-minute ideas" here. the reset universe had been planned for ages; lots of foreshadowing is only now becoming apparent. remember when it was stated that jade would recognize lord english's true name? remember john's line about "having to face our grandfather as a final boss?" that's the opposite of capricious storytelling.
what sort of "proper explanation" of the vriska/tavros prototyping would even satisfy you
what "rules" has andrew ignored. how is this "inconsistent". resurrection via prototyping was one of the first mechanics introduced!
after arriving in the new session, gamzee skipped to the beginning to prototype friendcorpses For Reasons As Yet Unknown
what more do you want
not everything has to be "explained" immediately. there is such a thing as mystery! you might as well complain that we don't know how grandpa got into the medium in act 4.
sorry but if you think andrew is "playing the i-can-do-whatever-i-want-with-my-comic card" (what does that even mean???) you objectively Dont Know How To Read

let me control-f that for ya
(11/17/10)
EB: in my foolishness, i came very close to prototyping your grandpa.
GG: D:
GG: john, try to be more careful!
EB: we very nearly had to face our grandfatherly paradox-dad as a last boss.
EB: that would probably be the worst case scenario.

You size up the arcane contraption. The blue flicker of the coat's lining is arresting. But you don't know it's a coat. That would only invite more questions. You don't know what it shields. Nor do you know whose shoulders it was meant to cover. If you knew that - if you even knew his name - you would understand terror no human ever has.
she would be terrified to learn that lord english is her penpal. its just another "jake is LE" implication, in the same league as "you'd give your RIGHT LEG" and his gaudy computers, from long before act 6 even began.

Why are everyone being so fucking upset with my post when it was made in the thread made for complaints
Jesus fucking christ LMLYP, calm the fuck down. I don't care if you live off people enjoying act 6 but there is no need for such immature name calling
Because that's kinda just how this thread is I guess. It would be a little boring if people just posted their complaints and they floated off into the ether. But it can get over-the-top sometimes.
But it looks to me as though we're pretty damn calm. And I don't see much immature name calling. Maybe you need to reexamine your attitude.
Yeah it seems I got caught up on the specifics I quoted (one of which he seems to have edited out? No I just missed it that time GODDAMN IM GOOD) without actually paying much attention to the post's actual content.
oops
