Sorry, I managed to forget about the game :/.
Pillars cost Aran 3 movement to cross, so J3 is a little outside your movement range. Also remember that Seras moves after Aran.

And I can't blame you for forgetting about this, once we move to Chapter 1 I'm sure things will pick up though.

Ok, move to N6, heal Alera.

Unless O5 counts as a pillar, in which case move to O4, heal Seras.

This turn order is confusing, when Chap. 1 starts, can we set it ourselves?

Looks like the leader. Come on you two, let's take this guy out!

Cline motions to Blue and Spirit, then charges towards C5 and attacks the Exit Guard.

: Even for a warmup, this is pretty weak. Ah well, let's finish this up and move on to the real action.

Blue: E4 => B6, attack Exit Guard with Iron Sword.

I missed this earlier but now that I see you said that I want to point out that I would actually prefer to let you set the turn order from now on since at this point I'm completely confident that you'll set it fairly (not that it's terrifically consequential but y'know...). Basically I was just going to reverse the turn order for chapter 1 (Cline first Aran last everyone else is interchangeable because 5 Mov) and from then on put the lowest leveled players higher on the list.

Cline, is your CON high enough to let you rescue Blue?

If so, I suggest you do so; unless I'm missing something, Spirit has the higher chance of not getting hit.

Let me just save a little time and say yes. Cline has 13 con and Blue has 9. Con scores are on each character's stat sheet in the third post.

Will it really make that much of a difference? At this point, death doesn't hurt us (though it probably should - might I suggest losing 50 XP or something to discourage it?).

Oh yeah also I can't reach Blue :I.

Re: Fire Emblem: The Crumbling Courts (Minmaxing Fairness Maybe)

...Dammit you have 4 MOV not 5, mixed myself up.

Kind of unfair to assess any penalties for "death" on this map; Riot died due to my incredibly dumb mistake, and Spirit/Blue might also pass on.

If anything, take it from me, b/c I can get XP pretty easily.

(Pala, not really, but cautious FE playing is hard to break :P .)

Re: Fire Emblem: The Crumbling Courts (Minmaxing Fairness Maybe)

I'm not a fan of Exp penalties myself, they can lead to losing levels, and whether or not they would in the FE system it seems like it'd have downsides. If you don't lose a level, then the closer you are to 0 Exp when you die the less of a penalty it is. If you do lose a level, do you re-roll the stats when you level up again? This carries the potential of fixing crap level ups if you roll better than you did the first time.

Staying out of the rest of the level denies you future Exp, and thus the later in the level you die the less of a problem it is which at least sounds kind of fair to me. My original plan was that the unit in question would have to sit out the following level as well, but that could lead to them being seriously behind in Exp. I dunno, I'll take a second look at it.

Oh, also, since it's a practice map the only death penalty applied is being removed from the map. So any changes wouldn't apply until Chapter 1.

Re: Fire Emblem: The Crumbling Courts (Minmaxing Fairness Maybe)

Hm, I was more thinking that you wouldn't be able to lose levels. Let's say you're at 35 XP and die, you drop down to 0 and lose no levels. Unfortunately, it's still an iffy concept, making death less... deadly.

Hmm, maybe you could incurr a stat penalty for the next level?

To be fair your evasiveness is a bit lower than you want it to be. For example, the Exit Guard has 44 acc on you, so it's not terribly unlikely that he'd hit you again for example. In fact I'm not sure any enemy has had less than hit rates in the high 30's on Spirit. A 1/3 hit rate is still decent after all.

Yes, but 30 is still the lowest acc any enemy has had on any of us
It's actually pretty common for enemies to miss a lot with less than 50 hit on most units in the games themselves. I won't be able to have enemies with 0 hit on me until I'm a swordmaster :P
