Well it's obviously not made of metal, but I can't tell if it have any time travel abilities from pictures only.

    Did you say Scratch...scratch...scratch....scratch

All shenanigans aside I am working on the time travel, but I have seemed to misplace my flux capacitor. Has anyone seen it around? Thing has a mind of it's own. Also this prop is for conventioning, but now that I think about it a forged piece of metal would be quite the work of art. alright, FUCK MY FUTURE CAREER CHOICES, I AM GOING INTO BLACKSMITHING.

Looking awesome so far! Also, don't even think about starting over until this one's done!
One 1/2xsword is better than two incompatible 1/2x1/2swords.

Edit: Have you tried looking behind the Tardis? Time traveling devices tend to attract each other for some strange reason.

But you know what they say: "Quit while you're ahead." Plus I already took the other guys advice and got my blacksmithing up to level 100 in skyrim which, in turn, broke my whole game. I hope you're happy other guy.

This seems legit. Also maybe I can just pull the 4th dimension through the 5th to pose the same results ~>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q_GQ...ure=plpp_video
I will get right on this. I will post back when I invent time travel.

I hope you are serious about the metal one.

You need not worry about leaving the original incomplete, it's from a splintered timeline anyway, it was never meant to be completed, just like some swords are never meant to be whole. The metal one is the one that was always supposed to be made. Of course it never could have been forged without first learning from the doomed timeline, abandoning it and coming back to start over from scratch in the right one, so the sacrifice was not in vain, it may have been doomed from the start but it was always an essential contributive part of the creation of the alpha timeline.

This. This is logic. The only problem with the whole metal thing is that conventioning might be difficult with a real weapon :@ Currently installing a forge in my basement. Who needs a water heater or storage space for food anyway.

You need to keep that sword away from my matesprit or they might just run away together and leave me behind! I made the mistake of showing him these pictures last night and now I am legitimately concerned...

    Laughed my ass off.

Edit: He might have a heart attack when this thing is done then. Also we should have a "Reaction shot" part of this thread where it's a video/photo of your initial reaction to the final product (might feature it in my showcase video in which I have someone working with me on that).

Ok so here's this weeks update:

Screwed those atennas in, the ironic part is that none of them are functioning antennas now :\

Ok so the question being what colour should these things go. In the Caledscratch picture on the fanbase wiki they are black, but I am open to opinions. If I keep them red I can do "something special" in a sense (trust me it's worth the wait) but I find the red clashes with the red of the line on the sword itself. This week for sure I will be hauling ass as this week was a fluke in a sense where I had to do a lot of random crap. Hopefully I can get the bulk of the sword done this week and start to get the electrical part of this ready Stay tuned for updates. I'm always open to suggestions as well (within reason that is).

I does clash :/ I would paint them black, but if you're pressed for time you can leave them for now and then go back and paint them later...

Lol I'm not that pressed for time. I just want to get this show in dah road. It has to be done by halfway through may, but realistically I only have until the end of April. I might have to do some more shopping around for the perfect piece but, really, I've just kind of been doing things as I felt suited. I think black would look better though. If anyone has any suggestions or have seen things that "look cool" on ebay or something, please feel free to share. I am always open to suggestions as I have basically been to every hardware store/ dollar store around town.

Whoa... That really is some impressive work! Seriously, I think I might be in love with it, haha.

I'm actually trying to make myself all of Dave's swords (...I like swords)
I hope you don't mind me asking, but where did you get your turntables for this? I had a look myself, but wasn't really able to find any that weren't quite expensive.

Oh, in answer to your question - I'd paint them black. Right now they don't quite look "rght" :3

    I used this: http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/discover-dj
It is the cheapest mixer with jog wheels I could find. I bought it off of ebay, but kijiji or craigslist is also suitable. I had to bandsaw the crap out of it though + I am currently rewiring it with custom fit buttons and what not.

EDIT: Be prepared to spend a lot of money as well. This project was not cheap as there is a huge margin of error, testing, sample products and a lot more than you think you will need. I have a pile of crap (I'll take a picture later) of stuff I have not used, but I thought I could make use of. If I were to do this again I think I might go dumpster diving or to a scrapyard or something because I chose a lot of these things because they "looked cool." The dollar store is your best friend

And yea, I think those things will look better black; still trying to see if I can find a suitable replacement or something that just looks badass.

Ah, thanks for the link! I've had a look and it does seem like it'd be a good option (less than £100 - which is a big plus! I was really trying to avoid spending too much on something I was just gonna take apart - though my inability to find anything might have something to do with the fact that I'm not too familiar with the proper names for things, haha)

I'd kind of guessed it'd be sort of expensive, especially if you're looking to do a good job :3 I intend to to quite a lot of planning before I start/buy anything - so hopefully, I can cut costs a little on at least /some/ of it.

Well, thank for the info, and good luck with the rest of the this. It looks like it's gonna tirn out great

Re: Caledscratch - More than just a prop

Ok so basically this week I was like, "FUCK IT, I GOT MY LEMONS SO LET'S MAKE SOME ECLAIRS" or something like that and solved two problems in one as I call 'killing two stones with one bird.' Anyway only one photo this week (paint takes god damn forever to dry and then recoat).

you wanted speakers, so I gave MSPA forum speakers. MSPA forum loves speakers:
    http://i.imgur.com/4O5gC.jpg

So yea, that's that for now. Everything is slowly coming together and should be getting serious within 2 weeks. I'll post a video with the speakers working...maybe later.

EDIT: Need some EPIC music for an EPIC video. You know what it's going to feature so I need something good. Send me links or post here.

Given the subject matter how could anything be more appropriate than Atomic Ebonpyre?

Isn't quite what I had in mind. Mind you it is a pretty epic song (listen to it all the time). I was thinking something along the lines of the obsidian towers or equivalent. Subtle, yet dramatic and easy to set a video to.
