And scholars/"wizards" (actually just old dudes with beards) are the most valuable combat units because they are the only ones who can be taught how to use the more complex firearms
The whole game would be like an RTS except the camera is always on the tank and you can only command units that are within shouting distance unless you get squires or couriers or something. Also maybe you can like timewarp your units away and then pull them back in later without their losing formation? It would have to have plenty of limits, but imagine pulling a bunch of archers out of timespace limbo and onto the field in a circle around your opponents.
Oh, yeah, I know. I just think that somebody actually compared the various statistics of the Russ and found that it's really something more akin to a WWI or WWII-era tank. Hell, I know for a fact that the M1 Abrams actually has more armor than a Land Raider. Really, a lot of Imperial equipment is something akin to what you might have found in WWII, except utterly ridiculous in some way or another. The only thing, though, is that it's all really really tough, hence why I think it would be a better candidate for conquering a continent solo.
Edit: On a side note, here's another idea I've had. Basically, it's like Star Wars: Battlefront, but set in the Mass Effect universe. Actually, that's exactly what it is. I mean, I'd even just propose this as a mod except that I'd love to see a voiced campaign or something. You could play out stuff like various battles of the Krogan Rebellions, the First Contact War, the Morning War, you could be a fighter pilot in the Reaper Wars, all kinds of stuff like that. I don't even care if I already own Battlefront 1 and 2, I would buy a copy of that for every system I own if that happened.

Totally a mod possibility. I'd be surprised if the idea hasn't already been brought up somewhere. Like right here.
Oh yes, I've been following this for quite some time... I mean an actual playable game right here.
They are making incredible progress! I cannot wait to see the finished product, no matter the amount of time it takes.

Come to think of it, an MMO where everybody is a James Bond type secrety dude would be pretty good. As long as the servers had relatively low player caps and important places were well spread out it could be kept quite believable too. Or at least not ridiculous. And if things were thrown in that weren't straight up shooting everything were in too, like making amazingly impractical and/or improbable gadgetry.
Or a rts/management type game where you're a stereotypical superhero villain except you are actually capable of taking over the world. For yourself and without any ridiculous emotional angst.
An MMORPG where you start off as an ordinary human, but can purchase biopunk and cyberpunk enhancements to make yourself more powerful. But not only that, permadeath is on and there's no level system! Your characters strength is determined solely by video game skill and the combination of your enhancements
12 Angry Men videogame. Some game that takes place in a jury room.
But it's not what you think! It's actually an Elite Beat Agents rhythm game.

The first sentence, removing the "MMO" part of it, sounds a lot like Bioshock. Well, sorta. I've never played bioshock actually, I guess I should.
But uhh... Sounds pretty cool actually.
I'd play that. For free. I would not charge money to play that game.

It's a classification system. The first digit represents the universe, and the second represents the "instance" or, as some people believe, the timeline.
Think of the recently released albums. Universe A is the trolls' universe. I suspect it was named A because it's the earliest universe we look at. We probably won't see the universe that came before A, but it does exist.
Universe B is the kids' universe. There's no reason why it's called B, just that it came after universe A. That's all.
Then, the number could either represent the 'instance' of the universe, or the timeline. So, for B1. You could say that it's the first timeline/instance of the B universe. It's the first because, as far as we know, it's the original unaltered timeline. You could call it an instance though. Basically, what separates B1 from B2 is the Scratch. If you think of them as timelines, B1 and B2 are identical up to a specific point. Before the timelines diverge, it is simply the B universe. Some people would rather call them "Universal instances", however, because we really don't know how much of an effect the Scratch had on Universe B.
When referring to specific characters, it's easier to use this classification system than it is to assign a name to every version of every character. Dave's brother can either be called "Bro" or "B1 Dirk". Dirk's brother, similarly, can be called B2 Dave or... whatever people have begun calling him. It works with most characters, as long as you remember to say "A_" when talking about trolls. A1 Mindfang is the same character as Aranea, while A1 Vriska is most certainly not the same as A2 Vriska.
I think people should use this system and spread it around for more people to use, because it honestly gets crazy when people try to differentiate between characters by saying "Alpha" or "Beta". Absolutely impossible.

I've been using XP my whole life, bro. Simply the best OS.
One thing I dislike about Win7 is that you can't change between windows as fluently. Is there a setting or something that disables automatic bunching of windows into one icon? I want to be able to change windows in one click. I don't want to have to click the Chrome icon and then select the individual window icon. It would make multitasking so bloody hard for me.

Ah. This is where I betray the newness of my interest in software (~6 months). As opposed to my interest in hardware (~6 years)
Hmm. Yeah. I dunno, bro. As long as Win 7 is as easily navigable as XP, I'll be happy with it.
Right click on taskbar -> Properties.
Taskbar buttons -> set to never combine.
Hit apply.
Done in 5 seconds. You're welcome.

Shatterproof sword, Causal cap
Layers of satire, I take no crap
Flashy moves, tasty groves
Never lose, always the one to choose
Faster than sound, flashing around
Cutting fools down, fighting black clowns
Jet board, can’t be ignored, check out the sword
Slashing through imps like metaphysical gourds
Grist hoard, everything afford, won every single possible award

I can see something like that mixed in with a game like Blade, where skill is pretty well the only real factor.
I mean, the ground is all set for that isn't it? The ending was... pretty conclusive, but there are still things left unexplained such as that chick that could sense ghosts.

Combination MMORPG, RTS, lifesim, and puzzle game.
If you play the MMORPG, you are a hero, and do MMO things.
If you play the RTS, you are a grand overwatching RTS eye and do RTS things. You can directly control weaker units, but you would need to post bounties in order to get players on the MMORPG "plane" to help complete more difficult missions.
If you play the sim (which would basically work the way The SIMS works, except in a fantasy universe), you're an NPC (or family of NPCs).
If you play the puzzle game, you can use it to craft items.
You would be able to freely move characters between the different game planes under the correct circumstances. The only game plane that would be mostly seperate would be the RTS plane, since obviously not every character can be a godking.
There is no in-built plot. Instead, some of the employees of the company that makes the game would have a modded version of the RTS plane with which to terrorize the players, just to get everything started.
I hereby acknowledge that any of the preceeding words might possibly be nonsensical, insane, illogical, or just plain weird.

That sounds like Puzzle Pirates, which mixes genres quite a bit.

I want a sequel to Dinner Date, a game where you play as a man's subconscious. Except this time the minor actions you guide him into actually advance and effect the story. The first game could barely be considered interactive.

I want a game within a game within a game. Just keep making more levels of game. I'll tell you when to stop.
Note: Is double posting okay if you wait a few days to do so? I personally don't see a problem with that policy as long as it isn't abused.

So you want, I guess spoiler twist for a game
Star Ocean Till the end of time
?
Where you'd start in the tutorial virtual world, and after first twist you get to "this" dimension, which would be a twist to another one, until your character go insane as his/her brain can't handle anything anymore and become the final boss for the next player?
I was once thinking of making a game with 2 temoral dimensions (2D time instead of 1D time), but it's actually not that easy to think up puzzles for such a concept without them becomming annoying, repetative, or easily cheatable.
Also, this game. It's in alpha now, but I WANT IT TO BE OUT SO MUCH.
Also, seconding the Majora's Mask 2 idea. That would be amazing. I'd also like to see more Zelda games where the bosses aren't complete pushovers and getting a couple glass bottles doesn't make you invincible. So far, Oracle of Seasons is the only game i've played (I've played all but the 2nd one) that matches this criteria.

Seriously, the first game let you outrun a collapsing bridge on a tiny tricycle, grab lasers with your bare hands, and fight an anthromorphic sentai dog on a giant transforming motorcycle while riding a cat.
WHY HAVEN'T MORE PEOPLE PLAYED THIS?
(not to mention that Treasure finally got around to making sequels somewhat recently, and this is one of their games that could really use one.)
