Pikmin 3

I wish 'Pressure', that video game concept/hoax that was posted on 4chan a while ago existed.

You have NO IDEA
how much I love this series
just
NO IDEA
here have some idea
And speaking of Pikmin- a new IP that did the "manage a bunch of little AI fellas and try to get them to solve puzzles" thing with a more direct, level-focused approach to progression would probably be pretty fun if there were enough different simple behaviors to choose from.

ha ha what's all this old crap Past Me put in his signature, get that stuff outta there
I don't even think I need to state the name of the game.
YOU KNOW.

ugh.
psychonauts 2
pokemon universe
monster hunter the MMO
I want a Timesplitters 4, or whatever, just a new one.
FPS with ridiculous characters, that obey the old rules of the fps (health, armor pickups, what 9 weapons on you?) some "cheap" weapons (that laser thing that shoots through walls, a fully automatic rocket launcher, the injector) and of course bricks and silliness, along with map creation.
And they should bring the Anaconda minigame as well, for the music.
Elder Scrolls: Tamriel.
Actually, that's a thing.
But Capcom hates America which is why they're incredibly reluctant to release Monster hunter games here.
It's called Monster Hunter Frontier and is predictably only in Japan.
It has gigantic monsters in it called Ravientes that are literally the size of islands 0:
ugh.
We've actually had this thread before, but because I am still in love with my ideas:
A 3D action game where you are a lithomancer and you can make golems out of any raw material to assist you and they all have various strengths and abilities. You can buy upgrades to increase the efficacy of your majyyks. You can play summoner or take control of them yourself. Also a mechanic wherein on multiple playthroughs the bosses rotate but the arenas do not, so the fights are different in every area.
A survival/resource management game that is Pikmin crossed with Harvest Moon and survival horror. You're stranded on an unexplored planet and it will take your comrades four years to reach you. You must build shelter, learn to exploit the indigenous wildlife and resources and brave the terrors of alien beasts!
A game that plays like Noitu Love 2 but also Gunstar Heroes in that it is incredibly fast paced and doesn't slow down for a second. it is all about airdashes and maintaining a combo meter. There would be some autoscrolling but it would never punish you with instant death, only normal damage. Also you are a robot.
If I were good enough to be an artist or smart enough to be a programmer I'd be making video games.
Love this idea.
Also you fall in love with alien women by throwing cakes at them???A survival/resource management game that is Pikmin crossed with Harvest Moon and survival horror. You're stranded on an unexplored planet and it will take your comrades four years to reach you. You must build shelter, learn to exploit the indigenous wildlife and resources and brave the terrors of alien beasts!
Super Realistic Spaceship Simulator.
A la Blockade Runner + SS13 + Any other space game with high merit.
I want a game where you are a museum
I want a Magical Wizarding School Dating Simulator.
Where you are the school itself.
And you have to do everything in your school power to stop the students from making out. It is like the reverse version of a dating sim. A chastity sim where you are the school.
A game with a non-hitpoint-based health mechanic.
We've gone way past the age where hardware limited us to using NUMBERS as HEALTH, yet still every single new game does that! There is no need for using numbers as health.
Shot a foot? The foot is now unusable for standing and causing incredible pain. Shooting a foot does not make a number go down.
Shooting a head makes a person dead. It isn't that hard to remember, it even rhymes! Shooting a head does NOT make a number go down but with a bonus.
However, shooting a metal plate makes a dent in the metal plate. It will stop small projectiles from getting through it. Therefore giving armour a use that doesn't involve a slightly higher number to go down.
I think the reason the industry isn't incorporating these ideas is because they'd have to get rid of their scantily-clad ladies and give them *shock* CLOTHES!
Sim Magical Academy would be wonderful.
Headmaster, the alchemy wing is on fire. Again.
...I could be completely wrong though.
holy shit dwarf fortress
why can i not figure out how to play you
i really want to play you
I was thinking about that, and how Pikmin could totally go in that direction with the addition of a freeform construction mechanic, and I started thinking about how you'd end up domesticating wild creatures to act as labor. You could probably get a beetle monster to plow some fields by marking the rows with monster food, or let it chase you after you hook it up to a plow or something. Depending on how well the game used tactile interaction and vertical motion, there could be all sorts of creative ways to manipulate the behavior of hostile indigenous wildlife. Using different kinds of space fungi to mind control things is one way, but there's all kinds of interesting possibilities for taking advantage of giant monsters to help build things or overcome obstacles.
Of course, there's really only one best way to domesticate a space monster, and I can really only express it...
IN SONG no wait I mean in this convenient diagram.
