OMNIA: Chapter 8: Three Unwise Men

And so, as per their new orders, the 4 shootan went. They traveled across the desert, their new forms protecting them from the heat. They found it easy, but couldn't shake the feeling that there was something, or perhaps, someone, watching their every movements. It was unnerving, but still, they pressed on as the sun set...

And as night had finally arrived, they too arrived at their destination: The portal to the shootan capital: Bolet. Though, it wasn't as jack had described it. There were corpses everywhere. The formidable defenses had fallen, and so too had the large, snake-like guardian who was rumored to kill anything and anyone who attempted entry. Our 4 heroes stood outside the portal encampment, their feet falling upon blood-stained sand...

[Adept]

Well, at least Karin cleared out that, probably would have been pretty tricky to deal with otherwise.

[flyingBrick]

- "Welp. In we go."

[thetoastking]

RICK: "Welp. In we go."
They walked inside, those four heroes, examining first-hand the carnage of an unknown force.

And as the portal seemed to approach ever-closer...

SHOOTAN: "Y-You.... Th-There.... Halt..."
It was a child, severed neatly in half, yet somehow still alive. Rick kneels down towards the dying child.

SHOOTAN: "B-Be y-ye.... F-Fr...Friend..."

SHOOTAN: "Or foe...?"

"clearly hes a foe"

>Rick: Gently push his hand away.

- "I have no business being your foe, kid."

[Saint Game]

"I'm nobody."

[Travosh]

Rick gently pushes the child's weapon aside and stands up.

RICK: "I have no business being your foe, kid."
SITRAH: "clearly he's a foe."
SHOOTAN: "If you're... Not with us... Then you're against us."

The shot pierces rick's ribs, missing his heart, but still causing CRITICAL DAMAGE. Rick is now BLEEDING. He will lose HP steadily until the wound is dressed.

SHOOTAN: "You Will not enter the portal."

SHOOTAN: "Because with war, only one thing is certain..."

"Shootan never die."

Not sure if there's anything I can do to help, Rick, but should it become necessary, I could create a portal to an inventory to absorb any incoming fire.

Cassius prepares to use a energy barrier to protect him and his team. However, due to a RECENT DISCHARGE, he can only create a barrier for himself. CASSIUS projects a LEVEL I BARRIER.

LUCIAN has faded into the shadows.

SITRAH AUTO-PILOT uses HEAL on RICK, curing his BLEEDING status and granting him 8 HP.

CASSIUS uses an AUTO-PILOT BASIC ATTACK on 1, inflicting 4 damage.

RICK AUTO-PILOT uses WORDS OF POWER: SHOHK BORA
RICK: "Shohk Bora!"
2 takes 3 DAMAGE and is now PARALYZED. He may not be able to move!

RICK now has 18 VO to use.

ENEMY PHASE
1 stands... And glares.

2 is paralyzed! He cannot move!

3 seems to be aiming his gun more carefully... (Sharpshooter)

SAFARI JOE: "oh, auto-pilot? It's something that crazy toast came up with to keep things going. Instead of sitting around like an idiot, You'll automatically perform attacks or special moves. Real simple stuff."
